  • Oxygen saturation of blood is defined as ratio of total hemoglobins density to oxyhemoglobins density And the accuracy of pulse oxymeter that measures the oxygen saturation of blood by a noninvasive method is influenced by a measuring environment, breathing and motion of patient. Especially when patient moved his arms and fingers, it is difficult to eliminate motion artifact because the motion artifact signal has features that are overlap or closed at normal signal in frequency domain. We propose the filtering method that construct the filter banks and a matched falter to improve the Problem. When experimented by the proposed method, the ratio regulation of the proposed methods has 4.1% below than an adaptive filter (39.7%) and a moving average filter (11.2%). So. the Proposed method will be able to get a stable ratio of SpO2.

  • The aromatic hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) is a cytosolic protein that binds the environmental pollutant, dioxin. The liganded AhR translocates into the nucleus where it heterimerizes with a constitutive nuclear protein, AhR nuclear translocator (Arnt). The N-terminal regions of both AhR and Arnt contain basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) and Per-AhR-Arnt-Sim (PAS) motifs that are required for DNA binding, dimerization, and ligand binding whereas the C-terminal regions of both AhR and Arnt contain transactivation domains. Here, results from the mammalian two-hybrid system indicate that Arnt can make a homodimer but AhR cannot. In the presence of dioxin, the interaction between AhR and Arnt is stronger than that of the Arnt homodimer, suggesting that Arnt prefers to make a heterodimer with the liganded AhR rather than a homodimer. Transfection analyses using the GAL4-driven reporter system suggest that AhR's N-terminal region represses its own transactivation domain, as well as exogenous transactivation domains such as Sp 1 and VP16. Interestingly, the repressed transactivation domains of AhR are activated by ligand-dependent heterodimerization with Arnt. These observations suggest that heterodimerzation with Arnt is necessary not only for DNA binding but also for activation of the repressed transactivation capability of AhR.

  • The soluble transferrin receptor(TfR) in human serum has been shown recently to be a truncated form of intact membrane bound receptor containing most of the extracellular domain. We purfied the transferin-free TfR from human serum by immounoaffinity chromatography which produced the single protein identity in high resolution gel chormatography. The monoclonal antibodies(MAb) against purifed serum TfR were produced by fusion of spleen cells o fimmunized Balb/c mice and SP2 cells. Ten hybrids producing MAb specific for serum TfR were identifed and determine their iostypes. A immunoraddiometric assay (IRMA) for serum TfR was established using two monoclonal IgG1 antibodies as the coating and indicator antibodies on the bosis of their suitability in sandwich IRMA of serum TfR. The mean serum TfR levels in the 15 normal male, 15 normal female, and 19 iron-deficient subjects were 5.4$\pm$0.98, 4.6$\pm$0/76, and 18.0$\pm$12.8mg/1, respectively, and the difference in mean values between normal and iron deficient subjects was significant(p=0.0005). There existed the inverse logarithmic relationship(r=-0.9336, p<0.0001) between the serum TfR and ferritin levels.

  • In this paper, we propose a new post-processing method, based on the theory of the projection onto convex sets (POCS) to reduce the blocking artifacts in decoded images. We propose a few smoothness constraint set (SCS) and its projection operator in the wavelet transform (WT) domain to remove unnecessary high-frequency components caused by blocking artifacts. We also propose a new method to find and preserve the original high frequency components of the image edge. Experimental results show that the proposed method can not only achieve a significantly enhanced subjective quality, but also have the PSNR improvement in the output image.

  • The rapid growth of digital media and communication networks has created an urgent need for self-contained data identification methods to create adequate intellectual property right(IPR) protection technology. In this paper we propose a new watermarking method that could embed the gray-scale watermark logo in low frequency coefficients of discrete wavelet transform(DWT) domain as the marking space by using our Linear Bit-eXpansion(LBX) interleaving of gray-scale watermark, to use lots of watermark information without distortion of watermarked image quality and particularly to be robust against attack which could remove a part of image. Experimental results demonstrated the high robustness in particular against attacks such as image cropping and rotation which could remove a part of image.

  • This paper proposes a database index and retrieval method using the PCA(Principal Component Analysis). We perform a scene change detection and key frame extraction from the DC Image constructed by DCT DC coefficients in the compressed video stream that is video compression standard such as MPEG. In the extracted key frame, we use the PCA, then we can make codebook that has a statistical data as a codeword, which is saved as a database index. We also provide retrieval image that are similar to user's query image in a video database. As a result of experiments, we confirmed that the proposed method clearly showed superior performance in video retrieval and reduced computation time and memory space.

  • In block-based lossy video compression, severe quantization causes discontinuities along block boundaries so that annoying blocking artifacts are visible in decoded video images. These blocking artifacts significantly decrease the subjective image quality. In order to reduce the blocking artifacts in decoded images, many algorithms have been proposed. However studies on so called comer outlier, have been very limited. Corner outliers make image edges look disconnected from those of neighboring blocks at cross block boundary. In order to solve this problem we propose a corner outlier detection and compensation algorithm as loop-filtering in spatial domain. Experiment results show that the proposed method provides much improved subjective image quality.

  • It is essential to know the information about the prior model for wavelet coefficients, the probability distribution of noise, and the variance of wavelet coefficients for noise reduction using Bayesian estimation in wavelet domain. In general denoising methods, the signal variance is estimated from the proper prior model for wavelet coefficients. In this paper, we propose a variable window size decision algorithm to estimate signal variance according to image region. Simulation results shows the proposed method have better PSNRs than those of the state of art denoising methods.

  • The results of this study show that c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK) activation was associated with the enhancement of docetaxel-induced cytotoxicity by simvastatin in DU145 human prostate cancer cells. To better understand the basic molecular mechanisms, we investigated simvastatin-regulated targets during simvastatin-induced cell death in DU145 cells using two-dimensional (2D) proteomic analysis. Thus, vimentin, Ras-related protein Rab-1B (RAB1B), cytoplasmic hydroxymethylglutaryl-CoA synthase (cHMGCS), thioredoxin domain-containing protein 5 (TXNDC5), heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein K (hnRNP K), N-myc downstream-regulated gene 1 (NDRG1), and isopentenyl-diphosphate Delta-isomerase 1 (IDI1) protein spots were identified as simvastatin-regulated targets involved in DU145 cell death signaling pathways. Moreover, the JNK inhibitor SP600125 significantly inhibited the upregulation of NDRG1 and IDI protein levels by combination treatment of docetaxel and simvastatin. These results suggest that NDRG1 and IDI could at least play an important role in DU145 cell death signaling as simvastatinregulated targets associated with JNK activation.

  • WT(Wavelet Transform) is used to avoid blocking effect that is the disadvantage of JPEG using DCT(Discrete Cosine Transform). Because the proposed coding scheme is the same as JPEG, the proposed algorithm is compatible with that of JPEG. To achieve the goal, WT'ed image is reconstructed into 8$\times$8 coding block. Each coding block is quantized with the proposed weighting matrix that is derived from human visual characteristic and error analysis in WT'ed domain. By experiments, the proposed algorithm is superior to JPEG, in terms of PSNR(Peak Signal to Noise Ratio) and WMSE(Weighted Mean Square Error).
