  • The main purpose of this study was to demonstrate the most common characteristics of the small and medium system integration companies in performing IT projects. In this study, 388 auditing reports on the 194 IT projects which were carried out by the small and medium size manufacturers from 2006 to 2009 were employed and surveyed. This survey revealed that the schedule management was the most neglected item in the project management area, the test planning and action was the most neglected item in the development and coding area, and the manual preparation for users and operators was the most neglected item in the operation and maintenance area. Consequently these three most neglected items were considered as the most common characteristics of the small and medium system integration companies in performing IT projects.

  • Since Component-Based Development, or CBD, struck Korea SI industry a heavy blow several years ago, many major SI companies in Korea have implemented the CBD practices in real world, leveraging supports from the government and academic world. The result, however, falls short of their expectations. The major reason is that they have mainly focused on CBD processes and technical issues around it, although it is necessary as well to deal with other non-technical issues in order to make business values from CBD. This paper begins with reminding us what CBD tries to achieve indeed in terms of software development processes, then recognizes what we have achieved so far introducing a recent CBD project case, BOK-WIRE system. Thereafter, it reveals the chances that SI companies must take in order to make their CBD efforts succeed, pointing out what are the roadblocks really.

  • Influences of boron addition on the oxygen solubiligy in silicon melt and the amount of evaporation loss from the melt surface were investigated. It has been found the oxygen concentration increases from 2${\times}$1018 to 4${\times}$1018 atoms/㎤. The amount of evaporation loss was found to vary widely depending on the melt temperature. The amount of SiO evaporating form boron doped (∼102121 atoms/㎤) silicon melt at 1550$^{\circ}C$ is about twice as much as the value of non-doped melt.

  • In the system integration (SI) industry, improving relationships with outsourcing partners is one of the key challenges faced by SI companies that aim to increase productivity and reduce costs. In the SI industry, over 80% of project development work is performed by these outsourcing partners. Hence, large SI companies focus on fostering high-performing partners through improved cooperation and mutual relations. However, in the SI industry the existing process of managing outsourcing partners is unable to advance to the level of long-term partnerships due to inadequate information sharing and communication in the process of selecting and assessing a potential and existing partner. Based on the theory of partnership, this study identifies the success factors for new strategic partnerships. Further, this study presents a model for assessing partner companies to promote increased productivity and improve the relationship between an SI company and its partner. In addition, this model is used to assess partner relationships for a well-known SI company "A". This study explores the feasibility of a new framework model.

  • In the construction industry, success or failure depends on the capability and role of the project owner's organization, which has an effect on the peoples' lives and national finance because of a lot of involvement from the project owner. Therefore, it is required that the project owner has the sufficient capability for the success of relevant industry and the further development of whole industry. Therefore, at the viewpoint of successful accomplishment of the construction industry, systematic and in-depth research that defines and evaluates the capability of the project owner's organization is necessary. As-Is and To-Be competency can be measured by the individual areas and elements through the survey. By evaluating these capabilities simultaneously, it is possible to assume not only the project owner's organizational competency but also constant other capabilities. It is become to make plans for strengthening the capabilities and to establish the strategy, by catching which capabilities are really necessary. It will result in positive effects on improving the capabilities of the project owner's organizational competency.

  • Recently, the Project Financing industry has appeared the various change of the development environment in the rapid growth. So the Project Financing company has been trying to search Project Financing able to success and they are performing diversified researching to prepare the judgment ground of success from initial stage of development. The aim of this study is to find success factors which is in the Project Financing through collecting opinion of specialist and talking survey to people employed in Project Financing development field. Consequently, we indicate success factors using Analytic Hierarchy process (AHP) and make out success factors for the Project Financing. Furthermore, we suggest the way which is able to apply factors objectified so that exceed the development success Project Financing objectively.

  • Small & medium-sized construction companies(SMCC), they has lot's of problem like poor finance, a lack of specialists, and a shortage of professional skill. So the basic condition of SMCC is not good for small construction companies. In this situation, moreover SMCC has been influenced by big-sired construction companies(BCC) difficult after the crisis of economics of Korea, IMF. Therefore it is necessary that we strengthen competitive power of SMCC for survival. This research is about project management for SMCC. We analized information system which is developed from SI corporation and BCC. As this research, we want to build and organize project information management system for SMCC. This will make SMCC have more competitiveness and increase productivity efficiency, skill for information management of project given.

  • This paper limited the participation of large corporations in the mass information market by revising the Software Industry Promotion Act in order to increase business opportunity, equality of opportunity, and capacity building for small and medium sized IT companies. However, it is a fact that the medium and small SW companies have insufficient business capacity and expose various problems such as quality degradation of public information business, inadequate risk management, and deterioration of schedule management. In order to solve this problem, this paper derived the factors of quality deterioration in the system integration project and proposed to carry out the project by using some activities of VISUALIZATION, rigorous test management and Agile Methodology as a solution. Applying these measures to healthcare IT projects developed by midsize / small-sized IT companies has improved communications, improved quantitative progress management and improved project visibility. In addition, it contributed to minimizing defect resolution time, improving the requirement coverage ratio, and shortening unnecessary meeting time.
