  • 본 논문은 "구조물의 실시간 원격 모니터링 및 제어(Remote Structural Monitoring and Control in Real Time)"로 언급되는 융합기술에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 이러한 기술은 대형의 복잡한 인프라구조물의 복구나 지속성을 향상시킬 수 있다. 이러한 관점에서 본 논문은 기존의 구조물 모니터링 기술을 실시간 원격 모니터링 및 제어로 확장하고자 한다. 이는 유틸리티(Utility)의 안정적인 운영을 위한 기존 SCADA(Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) 시스템을 발달시켜 차세대 SCADA 시스템을 개발하는 것으로 확보할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 차세대 SCADA 시스템을 활용한 물공급 네트워크에 대해 설명하고 이를 교량이나 다른 시스템에 적용하고자 한다.

파력-해상풍력 복합발전시스템의 IEC61850기반 통합 SCADA시스템 개발 (Development of Unified SCADA System Based on IEC61850 in Wave-Offshore Wind Hybrid Power Generation System)

  • This paper suggests a structure of power control system in floating wave-offshore wind hybrid power generation system. We have developed an unified SCADA(Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) system which can be used to monitor and control PCS(Power Conversion System) based on IEC61850. The SCADA system is essential to perform the algorithm like proportional distribution and data acquisition, monitoring, active power, reactive power control in hybrid power generation system. IEC61850 is an international standard for electrical substation automation systems. It was made to compensate the limitations of the legacy industrial protocols such as Modbus. In order to test the proposed SCADA system and algorithm, we have developed the wind-wave simulator based Modbus. We have designed a protocol conversion device based on real-time Linux for the communication between Modbus and IEC61850. In this study, SCADA system consists of four 3MW class wind turbines and twenty-four 100kW class wave force generator.

엔트로피 이론과 유전자 알고리즘을 결합한 상수관망의 최적 압력 계측위치 결정 (Determination of Optimal Pressure Monitoring Locations of Water Distribution Systems Using Entropy Theory and Genetic Algorithm)

  • The purpose of water distribution system is supplying water to users by maintaining appropriate pressure and water quality. For efficient monitoring of the water distribution system, determination of optimal locations for pressure monitoring is essential. In this study, entropy theory was applied to determine the optimal locations for pressure monitoring. The entropy which is defined as the amount of information was calculated from the pressure change due to the variation of demand reflected the abnormal conditions at nodes, and the emitter function (fire hydrant) was used to reproduce actual pressure change pattern in EPANET. The optimal combination of monitoring points for pressure detection was determined by selecting the nodes receiving maximum information from other nodes using genetic algorithm. The Ozger's and a real network were evaluated using the proposed model. From the results, it was found that the entropy theory can provide general guideline to select the locations of pressure sensors installation for optimal design and monitoring of the water distribution systems. During decision-making phase, optimal combination of monitoring points can be selected by comparing total amount of information at each point especially when there are some constraints of installation such as limitation of available budget.

모터 펌프를 위한 멀티-모니터링 시스템 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of Multi-monitoring System for Motor Pump)

  • According to the needs of many users, motor pumps have been steadily developed and widely used in many industries where fluids are used. Motor pumps are used in a variety of environments, degrading quality and performance. It is becoming important to monitor the condition of motor pumps in order to maintain system performance and increase efficiency. This paper presents the method for effectively monitoring the condition of motor pumps. The designed MMI controller receives the collected data through data logging and output and controls the motor pump with touch screen. Implementing a Wi-Fi monitoring system and SCADA monitoring system based on Ethernet and RS485, user can monitor even if the user is far from the MMI controller without time and space limitation. In addition, by implementing a voice output system, the user can immediately recognize the situation through the sound. Therefore, through the proposed method, multi-monitoring system solves the cause of breakdowns and degradation of motor-pump and gives the possibility of commercialization by providing the convenience of maintenance to users.

  • 전 세계적으로 풍력발전은 전력생산을 위해 사용되는 신재생 에너지원 중 가장 빨리 성장하고 있는 분야로 새로 건설되는 풍력발전단지는 전체 전력 생산량에서 많은 부분을 차지해가고 있다. 풍력발전단지의 설치 증가는 더욱 효율적인 운영과 유지보수에 대한 기술 개발을 요구하게 된다. CM(Condition Monitoring) 시스템은 풍력발전 시스템의 효율적 운영을 가능케 하는 중요한 도구로 운영자에게 기계의 운전 상태에 대한 정보를 제공함과 동시에 유지보수와 관련된 체계적인 정보를 제공한다. 이에 본 연구에서는 풍력발전용 SCADA 시스템으로부터의 각종 정보를 이용하여 해당 장치의 고장검출에 효율적으로 사용될 수 있는 인공신경망을 기반으로 하는 정상 동작 모델의 체계적인 설계 과정에 대해 고찰하고자 한다. 또한 제안된 설계 기법의 유용성 확인을 위해 군산 비응도에 설치된 Vestas사의 850KW급 풍력발전시스템으로부터의 SCADA 데이터를 사용하였다.

Long term monitoring of a cable stayed bridge using DuraMote

  • DuraMote is a remote sensing system developed for the "NIST TIP project: next generation SCADA for prevention and mitigation of water system infrastructure disaster". It is designed for supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) of ruptures in water pipes. Micro-electro mechanical (MEMS) accelerometers, which record the vibration of the pipe wall, are used detect the ruptures. However, the performance of Duramote cannot be verified directly on a water distribution system because it lacks an acceptable recordable level of ambient vibration. Instead, a long-span cable-stayed bridge is an ideal test-bed to validate the accuracy, the reliability, and the robustness of DuraMote because the bridge has an acceptable level of ambient vibration. The acceleration data recorded on the bridge were used to identify the modal properties of the structure and to verify the performance of DuraMote. During the test period, the bridge was subjected to heavy rain, wind, and a typhoon but the system demonstrates its robustness and durability.

직접연계방법에 의한 DAS-SCADA 연계 연구 (A Study on the Interface between DAS and SCADA by using Direct Method)

  • 배전자동화시스템(DAS:Distribution Automation System)과 변전자동화시스템(SCADA:Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition)은 전력계통을 컴퓨터와 통신기술을 이용하여 운용하는 주된 시스템으로, 현재 독립적으로 운영됨으로 인해 신속하게 처리되어야 하는 고장처리 및 활선작업처리가 지연되는 등의 문제점이 제기되어왔고, 이에 따라 DAS-SCADA 연계 연구가 요구되었다. 연계방법으로 직접연계, 웹연계, DAS 기능부 전력량계를 이용한 연계가 2005년 11월부터 2007년 12월까지 한전 사업소에서 시범 운영되었고, 그 결과 투자비용 면에서 직접연계방법이 웹연계 방법에 비해 약 1.3배 높지만 다양한 변전소 운전정보 전달의 신속성, 제어기능 우수 등의 타당성이 입증됨으로써 직접연계방법에 의한 DAS-SCADA 연계가 2010년까지 한전 사업소에 전국적으로 확대 적용될 계획이다. 시범 운영시 제기된 문제점을 개선하기 위해 변전소 개체별 통신 방법을 이용한 데이터 연계방안으로 개선하여 연계DB 자동구축 기능 및 연계시스템 진단/Log 기능을 개발하였다. 연계데이터 포인트와 통신데이터 종류를 정의하고, SCADA HMI 프로그램을 개발하여 변전소 단선도 자동생성 기능, 변전소 단선도 수동편집 기능, SCADA 감시 제어기능 및 이력관리 기능을 개발하였다. DAS-SCADA 연계시 정전건당 평균시간을 약 33% 단축하여 전력공급 신뢰도를 향상하고, 배전 계통운영센터와 변전소간 활선작업 처리절차 축소로 전력계통 효율적 운영에 기여하고, 나아가 고장시 부하절체 자동처리로 완전한 배전자동화 실현 및 해외 수출화 사업에도 크게 기여할 것으로 기대된다.

배전 SCADA 기능을 이용한 고장타입.고장위치 진단 전문가 시스템 (An Expery System for the Diagnosis of the Fault Type and Fault Loaction In the Distribution SCADA System)

  • Distribution system can experience the diverse events instantly and permanently. Also, it can experience high impedance fault or line drop under unbalanced situation, Accordingly, it is difficulty to identify the fault location because that data collected from distribution SCADA system may include uncertainty. This paper proposes an expert system, which can infer the faulted location the quickly and exactly for the diverse events in the distribution system. The expert system utilizes distribution SCADA function and collected data, especially, the monitoring mechanism for the normal open position switches is adopted newly in order to recognize the fault type exactly. Also, automated fault location diagnosis strategy is developed in order to minimize the spreading effect of fault obtained from the error of the system operator. The proposed strategy is implemented in C language. Especially, in order to prove the effectiveness of proposed expert system, the several scenario is simulated for the given model system. The real feeders are selected as model system for the simulation.

웹 기술을 이용한 변전소 감시제어 시스템 개발 (Development of SCADA System based on Web Technology)

  • Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems are essential parts of power system which employ a wide range of computers and communication technologies. The traditional SCADA system is mainly for information exchange in only one company, and the information is provided only to the operator or administrator. But in the deregulated environment, we need much more information, which can be exchanged among different companies. With the rapid development of internet, we can use it to access information easily. This paper proposes web technologies to be applied in power system in order to display some important information through accessing data from database, and to realize the real time control of the substation. The functions of SCADA system will be implemented by a set of Web-based components. The monitoring and control of standard 154[kV] substation model is already realized in the laboratory test. The Web-based SCADA system is able to provide sufficient information and control for pow or system through an efficient and economical way.

Non-invasive acceleration-based methodology for damage detection and assessment of water distribution system

  • This paper presents the results of a pilot study and verification of a concept of a novel methodology for damage detection and assessment of water distribution system. The unique feature of the proposed noninvasive methodology is the use of accelerometers installed on the pipe surface, instead of pressure sensors that are traditionally installed invasively. Experimental observations show that a sharp change in pressure is always accompanied by a sharp change of pipe surface acceleration at the corresponding locations along the pipe length. Therefore, water pressure-monitoring can be transformed into acceleration-monitoring of the pipe surface. The latter is a significantly more economical alternative due to the use of less expensive sensors such as MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) or other acceleration sensors. In this scenario, monitoring is made for Maximum Pipe Acceleration Gradient (MPAG) rather than Maximum Water Head Gradient (MWHG). This paper presents the results of a small-scale laboratory experiment that serves as the proof of concept of the proposed technology. The ultimate goal of this study is to improve upon the existing SCADA (Supervisory Control And Data Acquisition) by integrating the proposed non-invasive monitoring techniques to ultimately develop the next generation SCADA system for water distribution systems.
