화학 증착법에 의한 $TiO_2$ 초미분의 제조 및 입자 특성에 관한 연구 (Synthesis and Characterization of $TiO_2$ Ultrafine Powder by Chemical Vapor Deposition)

  • TiO2 fine powders were synthesized using oxygenolysis and hydrolysis reaction of TiCl4 vapor in gas phase. The TiO2 powder synthesized showed morphological differences depending on reaction system as follows: TiCl4-O2 reaction system produced the monosized particles having polyhedral shape with well-defined crystal planes and the particles did not agglomerate into secondary particles. TiCl4-H2O reaction system, whereas, produced the spherical secondary particles which consisted of fine primary particles. Other powder characteristics such as particle size, impurity content and rutile content are also reported in this study.

사염화티타늄의 기상가수분해반응에 의한 $TiO_2$ 미분의 제조 및 입자특성 (Preparation and Characterization of Fine $TiO_2$ Powders by Vapor-Phase Hydrolysis of TiCl4)

  • TiO2 fine powder was synthesized in the gas phase by chemical vapor deposition using hydrolysis of TiCl4. Content of rutile phase in the powder was investigated. Powder characteristics such as size, crystallinity and morphology were also studied by means of TEM, SEM and XRD. Rutile phase in TiO2 powder started to be formed from 100$0^{\circ}C$ and the content increased with the reaction temperature and TiCl4 concentration. As the temperature increased from 80$0^{\circ}C$ to 140$0^{\circ}C$, the primary particle size increased while secondary particle size decreased. Spherical secondary particle with fine primary crystals agglomerated was produced at low temperature of 80$0^{\circ}C$ whereas the grown primary particle being final particle size was produced at higher temperature of 140$0^{\circ}C$. Other effects of TiCl4 and H2O partial pressures on particle size were also reported in this study.

  • Magnetic and electronic properties of reduced rutile titanium dioxide $(TiO_{2-\delta})$ thin films doped by Mn have been investigated. The present sol-gel-grown semiconducting $TiO_{2-\delta}:Mn$ films exhibit a ferromagnetic behavior at room temperature for a limited range of Mn content. The Mn-doped films have p-type electrical conductivity with the carrier concentration near $10^{19}\;cm^{-3}$. The observed room-temperature ferromagnetism is believed to be intrinsic but not related to free carriers such as holes. Oxygen vacancies are likely to contribute to the room-temperature ferromagnetism-trapped carriers in oxygen vacancies can mediate a ferromagnetic coupling between neighboring $Mn^{+3}$ ions. The energy band-gap change due to the Mn doping measured by spectroscopic ellipsometry exhibits a red-shift compared to that of the undoped sample at low Mn content. It is explainable in terms of strong spin-exchange interactions between Mn ion and the carrier.

De-NOx Characteristics of V2O5 SCR according to the Ratio of TiO2 Crystal Structures

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the de-NOx performance characteristics according to the $TiO_2$ crystal structures ratio of $V_2O_5$ SCR catalysts. The anatase(100%) SCR catalyst showed the highest desorption peak of 80ppm at about $250^{\circ}C$, and $NH_3$ was not desorbed at $500^{\circ}C$. It can be confirmed that there was many $NH_3$ desorbed at a high temperature among other various crystal structures, which is because the catalyst was more acidized to increase the intensity of acid sites as the content of subacid sulfate ions($NH_2SO_4$) in the rutile phase increases. The anatase/rutile(7%/93%) SCR had the smallest width of de-NOx performance drop according to thermal aging, and had strong durability against thermal aging.

Synthesis and Photocatalytic Properties of SnO2-Mixed and Sn-Doped TiO2 Nanoparticles

  • $SnO_2$-mixed and Sn-doped $TiO_2$ nanoparticles were synthesized via a hydrothermal process. $SnO_2$-mixed $TiO_2$ nanoparticles prepared in a neutral condition consisted of anatase $TiO_2$ nanoparticles(diamond shape, ~25 nm) and cassiterite $SnO_2$ nanoparticles(spherical shape, ~10 nm). On the other hand, Sn-doped $TiO_2$ nanoparticles obtained under a high acidic condition showed a crystalline phase corresponding to rutile $TiO_2$. As the Sn content increased, the particle shape changed from rod-like(d~40 nm, 1~200 nm) to spherical(18 nm) with a decrease in the particle size. The peak shift in the XRD results and a change of the c-axis lattice parameter with the Sn content demonstrate that the $TiO_2$ in the rutile phase was doped with Sn. The photocatalytic activity of the $SnO_2$-mixed $TiO_2$ nanoparticles dramatically increased and then decreased when the $SnO_2$ content exceeded 4%. The increased photocatalytic activity is mainly attributed to the improved charge separation of the $TiO_2$ nanoparticles with the $SnO_2$. In the case of Sn-doped $TiO_2$ nanoparticles, the photocatalytic activity increased slightly with the Sn content due most likely to the larger energy bandgap caused by Sn-doping and the decrease in the particle size. The $SnO_2$-mixed $TiO_2$ nanoparticles generally exhibited higher photocatalytic activity than the Sn-doped $TiO_2$ nanoparticles. This was caused by the phase difference of $TiO_2$.

Ni-Ti 합금의 산화거동에 영향을 미치는 열처리 온도의 영향 (Effects of Heat Treatment Temperature on Oxidation Behavior in Ni-Ti Alloy)

  • Variation in oxidation behavior with heat treatment temperature is investigated for a Ni-Ti alloy using X-ray diffraction, DSC (differential scanning calorimetry) and Auger electron spectroscopy. And the effect of oxidation on transformation behavior and superelasticity is characterized. A cold-worked 50.6Ni-Ti alloy is oxidized at 300-$700^{\circ}C$ for 1 hr in the air atmosphere. With an increase in heating temperature, the structure of $TiO_2$ changes from amorphous (300 and $400^{\circ}C$) to anatase ($500^{\circ}C$), and to rutile ($700^{\circ}C$). Activation energy of oxidation for NiTi is measured to be 51 Kcal/mol when heating temperature is $500^{\circ}C$ or above. Since Ti reacts preferably with oxygen, Ni content increases between matrix and oxide, forming $Ni_{3}Ti$ compounds. The resultant of oxidation decreases significantly $M_s$ and $A_s$ temperature in the specimen oxidized at $900^{\circ}C$ with $B_2{\rightarrow}M$ transformation path. An extra is found on cooling between two peaks in the specimen with $B_2{\rightarrow}R{\rightarrow}M$ one which is oxidized at $900^{\circ}C$ and aged at $500^{\circ}C$. Oxidation deteriorates superelasticity due to formation of Ni-rich compound.

W를 첨가한 $\textrm{TiO}_2$의 미세구조 및 전기적 성질 (Microstructure and Electrical Properties of W-doped $\textrm{TiO}_2$)

  • The electrical conductivity of TiO$_2$ doped with 0.05~1.5mol% WO$_3$ was measured in the oxygen partial pressure range of 10\ulcorner~10\ulcorner atm and temperature range of 1100~130$0^{\circ}C$ to investigate the defect types and the electrical properties. The grain size and density were increased as the liquid phase was formed by the doped WO$_3$. The secondary phase and WO$_3$peaks at the sample doped up to 4.0 mol% were not detected from the XRD results. The data(log$\sigma$/logPo$_2$) over 110$0^{\circ}C$ were divided into the four regions. From these experimental results, we proposed the following defect regions. 1) Magneli phase(extended defect), 2) Reduced rutile region which is similar to the behavior of undoped rutile, 3) Nearly stoichiometric Ti\ulcornerW\ulcornerO$_2$region in which extra charge of W\ulcorner cation is expected to be compensated by an electron, 4) Overstoichiometric Ti\ulcornerW\ulcornerO\ulcorner region which is a metal deficiency not to be observed in pure TiO$_2$. The electrical conductivity of w-doped TiO$_2$ was influenced by the measuring temperature, oxygen partial pressure, and the dopig content.

$TiCl_4$의 산화반응에 대한 파이롯트 규모 실험 (Pilot Scale Experiments on the Oxidation of $TiCl_4$)

  • Pilot-scale experiments on the oxidation of TiCl4 to produce TiO2 were carried out in a verical reactor of 20cm in inside diameter and 140cm in length ; LPG burning was used as a heating means to maintain the reaciton temperature. The effects of reaction temperature and excess oxygen content on the conversion of TiCl4 and on the particle size of produced TiO2 were investigated. The ranges of operating conditions varied were 900 to TiO2 was 0.45-0.57${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$, TiCl4 conversion was 82-96%, the rutile content was 33-57% and the contents of impurities were 0.03% of Fe, 0.03% of SiO2 and 62ppm of Cl. These experimental results were compared with those of other investigators.

삼광 금-은 광상에서 산출되는 함 티타늄 광물들의 산상 및 화학조성 (Occurrence and Chemical Composition of Ti-bearing Minerals from Samgwang Au-ag Deposit, Republic of Korea)

  • 삼광 금-은 광상은 과거 한국에서 가장 큰 금-은 광상들 중의 하나였다. 이 광상은 선캠브리아기의 변성퇴적암류내에 발달된 열극대를 충진한 8개조의 석영맥으로 구성된 조산형 금-은 광상이다. 이 광상에서 함 티타늄 광물로는 설석, 티탄철석 및 금홍석이며 설석과 티탄철석은 모암에서만 산출되나 금홍석은 모암과 엽리상 석영맥에서 산출된다. 이들 광물들은 모암에선 흑운모, 백운모, 녹니석, 백색운모, 모나자이트, 저어콘 및 인회석과 엽리상 석영맥에선 백색운모, 녹니석 및 유비철석 등과 함께 산출된다. 설석은 최대 3.94 wt.% (Al2O3), 0.49 wt.% (FeO), 0.52 wt.% (Nb2O5), 0.46 wt.% (Y2O3) 및 0.43 wt.% (V2O5) 값을 갖는다. 이 설석은 0.06~0.14 (Fe/Al 비) 값으로 변성기원의 설석이고 XAl (=Al/Al+Fe3++Ti) 값이 0.06~0.15 값으로 저 함량 알루미늄 설석에 해당된다. 티탄철석은 최대 0.07 wt.% (ZrO2), 0.12 wt.% (HfO2), 0.26 wt.% (Nb2O5), 0.04 wt.% (Sb2O5), 0.13 wt.% (Ta2O5), 2.62 wt.% (As2O5), 0.29 wt.% (V2O5), 0.12 wt.% (Al2O3), 1.59 wt.% (ZnO)로써 As2O5 함량이 높게 산출된다. 금홍석의 화학조성은 모암과 엽리상 석영맥에서 각각 최대 0.35 wt.%, 0.65 wt.% (HfO2), 2.52 wt.%, 0.19 wt.% (WO3), 1.28 wt.%, 1.71 wt.% (Nb2O3), 0.03 wt.%, 0.07 wt.% (Sb2O3), 0.28 wt.%, 0.21 wt.% (As2O5), 0.68 wt.%, 0.70 wt.% (V2O3), 0.48 wt.%, 0.59 wt.% (Cr2O3), 0.70 wt.%, 1.90 wt.% (Al2O3), 4.76 wt.%, 3.17 wt.% (FeO)로써 엽리상 석영맥의 금홍석에서 HfO2, Nb2O3, As2O5, Cr2O3, Al2O3 및 FeO 원소들의 함량이 모암의 금홍석보다 높지만 WO3 원소의 함량은 낮다. 이 미량원소들은 모암의 금홍석[(Fe3+, Al3+, Cr3+) + Hf4++(W5+, As5+, Nb5+) ⟵⟶; 2Ti4++ V4+, 2Fe2++(Al3+, Cr3+) + Hf4++(W5+, As5+, Nb5+) ⟵⟶ 2Ti4++2V4+], 엽리상 석영맥의 금홍석 [(Fe3+, Al3+) + As5+ ⟵⟶ Ti4++ V4+, (Fe3+, Al3+) + As5+ ⟵⟶ Ti4++Hf4+, 4(Fe3+, Al3+) ⟵⟶ Ti4++(W5+, Nb5+) + Cr3+]로써 치환관계가 있었다. 이들 자료를 근거로, 모암내 산출되는 설석, 티탄철석 및 금홍석은 광역변성작용 동안 모암광물들의 변질 시 광물내 존재했던 W5+, Nb5+, As5+, Hf4+, V4+, Cr3+, Al3+, Fe3+, Fe2+ 등과 같은 양이온들의 재 용해 및 농집에 의해 형성되었다. 그후 계속된 연성전단 시 엽리상 석영맥내 금홍석은 열수 용액의 유입에 따른 백색운모와 녹니석의 모암변질작용에 의한 양이온들의 재 용해 및 재 농집과 더불어 초기에 형성된 설석, 티탄철석 및 금홍석과의 반응에 의해 기존에 이들 광물내에 존재하였던 Nb5+, As5+, Hf4+, Cr3+, Al3+, Fe3+, Fe2+과 같은 양이온들의 재농집에 의해 형성된 것으로 생각된다.

고주파 마그네트론 스퍼터링법에 의해 제조된 TO:F 투명도전막의 제조 및 특성( I ) (Fabrication and Characteristics of TO:F Thin Film Deposited by RF Magnetron Sputtering( I ))

  • 고주파 마그네트론 스퍼터링법에 의해 TO:F($SnO_{2}:F$)막을 제조하고 막의 구조적, 전기적 및 광학적 특성을 조사하였다. TO:F막은 $SnF_{2}$를 무게비로 첨가한 $SnO_{2}$ 타겟을 사용하여 증착되었으며 투명도전막으로서의 최적증착조건은 타겟내의 $SnF_{2}$의 첨가량이 15wt.% 고주파출력이 150W, 기판온도가 $150^{\circ}C$ 및 반응실내의 동작압력이 2mmTr일 때이다. 최적 증착조건에서 저항률은 $9{\times}10^{-4}{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$였으며 광투과도는 550nm에서 88%였다. 광투과도로부터 구해진 광학적 밴드갭은 타겟내에 $SnF_{2}$가 첨가되지 않은 경우 및 15wt.% 첨가된 경우에 각각 3.84eV 및 3.9eV로 나타났다. X-선회절분석의 결과 TO막 및 TO:F막은 (101),(200)방향으로 성장한 tetragonal rutile구조를 가지고 있었다.
