  • Dental environments are easily exposed to hospital microorganisms, so the risk of infection among workers is very high. Hand washing is one of the most important and basic way to reduce the risk of infection, as hands are an important medium of infection. Therefore, a convergence study was conducted between hand washing and health belief in orthodontic clinic. Analysis of differences between hand washing and health beliefs showed a significant relationship between importance of hand washing and experience in hand washing education (p=0.010) (p=0.000). Analysis of factors affecting health beliefs showed that the importance of hand washing control (p=0.014) and hands washing education experience (p=0.010) were significantly influencing factors. Infections management education is believed to be highly relevant in establishing a health when increasing interest in dental infections is expected to increase the importance of hand washing, a basic method.

  • This study is to investigate the impact of information technology implementation on supply chain risk and performance. It focuses on how information technology adoption affects supply risk as well as performance. It collected one hundred fifty nine responses from supply executives and supply and purchasing managers of U.S manufacturing firms by applying a survey methodology. The research results provide empirical evidence that the use of information technology in the supply chain mitigates supply risk and improves performance. More importantly, information technology adoption involves three aspects: inbound and outbound communications, internal communications and administration and finally, mitigation of supply risks and improved performance via order taking and procurement. This research emphasizes the importance of IT implementation in supply risk management. It also points out how information technology adoption facilitates the impact of information technology in risk mitigation in the supply chain and in performance. Thus, supply and purchasing managers need to consider IT implementation and adoption when establishing their risk mitigating strategies within the supply chains.

  • This paper assesses the role of informal institutions in determining risk preference among smallholders in Tigray, Ethiopia. We use data from a household survey conducted by the Institute of Poverty Alleviation and International Development (IPAID). We find that households which participate in Debo, an informal labor-sharing institution, or have a friend from whom they can receive help are less likely to be risk-averse. However, participation in Iddir, a traditional form of insurance, is not significantly associated with risk preference. Hence, the existence of social institutions that provide assistance and social connections through reciprocity may be affording security against risk beyond that brought by more monetary forms of insurance. Given the importance of risk attitude in mediating the adoption of improved agricultural production, a policy suggestion is to provide selected aid to households which are less risk-averse agricultural investors. Also, Debo as a labor-sharing institution may serve as a nexus for managing aid and knowledge sharing.

  • By applying the AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process), we have analyzed the importance and the order for priorities to the management risk factors of Korean SMEs & Venture companies in China. The major management risk factors of manufacturing companies were the rise in labor costs followed by fierce competition in the marketplace, problems involved with human resource management and the rise in the cost of materials. In the case of companies manufacturing electronic products, the rise of labor costs and alteration in government's tax policy were seen as the main risk factors. In the case of chemical product manufacturing companies, the reinforcement of environmental protection law and in automobile component manufacturing companies, apart from the rise in labor cost, the increase in raw materials costs were analyzed as the main risk factors. While considering the time period, the main risk factors of the companies that entered China in the 1990's were fierce competition and alteration in government's tax policy and for the companies that entered China in the 2000's, increase in raw material cost, the rise in labor cost etc were analyzed to be the main risk management factors.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to develop a model for predicting mental health risk among adolescents based on health behavior information by employing a hybrid machine learning method. Methods: The study analyzed data of 51,850 domestic middle and high school students from 2022 Youth Health Behavior Survey conducted by the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency. Firstly, mental health risk levels (stress perception, suicidal thoughts, suicide attempts, suicide plans, experiences of sadness and despair, loneliness, and generalized anxiety disorder) were classified using the k-mean unsupervised learning technique. Secondly, demographic factors (family economic status, gender, age), academic performance, physical health (body mass index, moderate-intensity exercise, subjective health perception, oral health perception), daily life habits (sleep time, wake-up time, smartphone use time, difficulty recovering from fatigue), eating habits (consumption of high-caffeine drinks, sweet drinks, late-night snacks), violence victimization, and deviance (drinking, smoking experience) data were input to develop a random forest model predicting mental health risk, using logistic and XGBoosting. The model and its prediction performance were compared. Results: First, the subjects were classified into two mental health groups using k-mean unsupervised learning, with the high mental health risk group constituting 26.45% of the total sample (13,712 adolescents). This mental health risk group included most of the adolescents who had made suicide plans (95.1%) or attempted suicide (96.7%). Second, the predictive performance of the random forest model for classifying mental health risk groups significantly outperformed that of the reference model (AUC=.94). Predictors of high importance were 'difficulty recovering from daytime fatigue' and 'subjective health perception'. Conclusion: Based on an understanding of adolescent health behavior information, it is possible to predict the mental health risk levels of adolescents and make interventions in advance.
