  • In this article, we deal with the biharmonicity of a vector field X viewed as a map from a pseudo-Riemannian manifold (M, g) into its tangent bundle TM endowed with the Sasaki metric gS. Precisely, we characterize those vector fields which are biharmonic maps, and find the relationship between them and biharmonic vector fields. Afterwards, we study the biharmonicity of left-invariant vector fields on the three dimensional Heisenberg group endowed with a left-invariant Lorentzian metric. Finally, we give examples of vector fields which are proper biharmonic maps on the Gödel universe.

  • In this paper, we prove that any stable f-harmonic map ${\psi}$ from ${\mathbb{S}}^2$ to N is a holomorphic or anti-holomorphic map, where N is a $K{\ddot{a}}hlerian$ manifold with non-positive holomorphic bisectional curvature and f is a smooth positive function on the sphere ${\mathbb{S}}^2$with Hess $f{\leq}0$. We also prove that any stable f-harmonic map ${\psi}$ from sphere ${\mathbb{S}}^n$ (n > 2) to Riemannian manifold N is constant.

  • Let M be a Riemannian manifold with asymptotically non-negative curvature. We study the asymptotic behavior of the energy densities of a harmonic map and an exponentially harmonic function on M. We prove that the energy density of a bounded harmonic map vanishes at infinity when the target is a Cartan-Hadamard manifold. Also we prove that the energy density of a bounded exponentially harmonic function vanishes at infinity.

  • A theorem of Robert Blumenthal is used here in order to obtain a sufficient condition for a function between two Finsler manifolds to be a fibre bundle map. Our study is connected with two possible constructions: 1) a Finslerian generalization of usually Kaluza-Klein theories which use Riemannian metrics, the well-known particular case of Finsler metrics, 2) a Finslerian version of reduction process from geometric mechanics. Due to a condition in the Blumenthal's result the completeness of Euler-Lagrange vector fields of Finslerian type is discussed in detail and two situations yielding completeness are given: one concerning the energy and a second related to Finslerian fundamental function. The connection of our last framework, namely a regular Lagrangian having the energy as a proper (in topological sense) function, with the celebrated $Poincar{\acute{e}}$ Recurrence Theorem is pointed out.

  • We define an almost Norden submersion (holomorphic and semi-Riemannian submersion) between almost Norden manifolds and show that, in most of the cases, the base manifold has the similar kind of structure as that of total manifold. We obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for almost Norden submersion to be a totally geodesic map. We also derive decomposition theorems for the total manifold of such submersions. Moreover, we study the harmonicity of almost Norden submersions between almost Norden manifolds and between Kaehler-Norden manifolds. Finally, we derive conditions for an almost Norden submersion to be a harmonic morphism.

  • Let G and H be compact connected Lie groups with biinvariant Riemannian metrics g and h respectively, ${\phi}$ a group isomorphism of G onto H, and $E:={\phi}^{-1}TH$ the induced bundle by $\phi$ over the base manifold G of the tangent bundle TH of H. Let ${\nabla}$ and $^H{\nabla}$ be the Levi-Civita connections for the metrics g and h respectively, $\tilde{\nabla}$ the induced connection by the map ${\phi}$ and $^H{\nabla}$. Then, a necessary and sufficient condition for $\tilde{\nabla}$ in the bundle (${\phi}^{-1}TH$, G, ${\pi}$) to be a Yang- Mills connection is the fact that the Levi-Civita connection ${\nabla}$ in the tangent bundle over (G, g) is a Yang- Mills connection. As an application, we get the following: Let ${\psi}$ be an automorphism of a compact connected semisimple Lie group G with the canonical metric g (the metric which is induced by the Killing form of the Lie algebra of G), ${\nabla}$ the Levi-Civita connection for g. Then, the induced connection $\tilde{\nabla}$, by ${\psi}$ and ${\nabla}$, is a Yang-Mills connection in the bundle (${\phi}^{-1}TH$, G, ${\pi}$) over the base manifold (G, g).
