The Effect of Success Factors on SCM Performance in Fashion Industry Stream (패션산업 스트림에 따라 SCM 성공요인이 SCM 성과에 미치는 영향연구)

  • Fashion industry characteristically goes through many steps to manufacture and to retail apparel products. Complex inter-industry channels with many intermediaries in fashion industry provoked many problems regarding recognizing customer's need, delivering time, flexibility, and inventory control. Therefore, the purposes of this study were to investigate the differences between apparel manufacturing and distribution process in SCM success factors and performances, and to investigate how SCM success factors affect on performances. Questionnaire was developed and distributed to apparel industry. The returned 116 questionnaires were analyzed by Cronbach's alpha for internal validity, factor analysis, t-test, and regression analysis with SPSS14.0. The results of this study were as follows: There was significant difference of SCM success factors between apparel manufacturing and distribution regarding process standardization and integration. There were significant differences of SCM performances such as reaction for customer, flexible management, cost minimization, and maximized asset utilization which distribution was higher than apparel manufacturing process. In apparel manufacturing, SC strategic relation, and integrative management influenced upon reaction for customer of SCM performances. SC integrative management influenced upon cost minimization. SC integrative management influenced upon maximized asset utilization. In distribution, SC strategic relation, and activated support for SCM influenced upon reaction for customer of SCM performances. SCM specialization, credible relationship among supply chains, activated support for SCM, and SC integrative management influenced upon cost minimization. SCM specialization, credible relationship among supply chains, and SC integrative management influenced upon maximized asset utilization.

Microbiological Investigation of Ready-to-cook Pork Bulgogi on Korean Markets

  • In this study, ready-to-cook (RTC) pork bulgogi was investigated microbiologically to determine contamination levels. The investigation was conducted because of an increasing trend in the consumption of RTC meat products in Korea. Ninety marinated RTC pork bulgogi samples were collected from major retail outlets (M), department stores (D), and local markets (L) in Seoul, Korea from March to June 2011. This study examined total plate counts (TPC), Escherichia coli, and coliform bacterial counts, and the presence of Bacillus cereus, Staphylococcus aureus, Listeria monocytogenes, Salmonella spp., and E. coli O157:H7. The mean TPC values were 5.89, 6.08, and 5.89 Log CFU/g for M, D, and L, respectively. E. coli was not detected in any sample, but coliforms were present in 72 (80%) of the 90 samples collected. B. cereus, E. coli O157:H7, and Salmonella spp. were not detected; however, S. aureus and L. monocytogenes were detected in five (5.5%) and one (1.1%) of the 90 samples. Samples collected from M and D were contaminated with S. aureus and those from L with L. monocytogenes. These results demonstrate that the conditions under which RTC pork bulgogis are handled and processed are unsanitary.

Effects of Shopping Motivation and Telepresence in VR Fitting Room Applications on Consumer Response (VR 피팅 애플리케이션의 쇼핑 동기와 텔레프레젠스가 소비자 반응에 미치는 영향)

  • In the era of COVID-19 and advanced ICT technology, retail technologies such as those that use virtual reality(VR) have been drawing significant attention in the fashion industry. This study investigated the impact of shopping motivation and telepresence on consumer attitude, trust, and behavioral intentions in VR fitting room application environments. An online survey was conducted on female consumers in their 20s and 30s after exploring a VR fitting room application. Overall, 225 responses were used for the analysis. The study demonstrated that usefulness had a significant effect on attitude toward product (ATP) and trust toward app (TTA), while enjoyment had a significant effect on ATP, but did not significantly affect TTA. Telepresence did not significantly affect TTA, but had a significant influence on ATP and behavioral intention. TTA had a significant influence on ATP, and both ATP and TTA had significant effects on behavioral intention. Moreover, the effects of usefulness, enjoyment, and telepresence on ATP, TTA, and behavioral intention were significant, as the self-congruity between consumers and avatars increased. The application of the motivation theory and technology acceptance model offers theoretical perspectives for understanding VR fitting room application users' attitudinal and behavioral responses in mobile shopping environments. In addition, this study provides practical implications to mobile retailers that utilize advanced technologies.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the differences between consumers and suppliers about the necessity and effectiveness of hand-tied bouquet packaging in a retail shop and consumer needs of floristry packaging for sustainable condition were surveyed and analyzed using questionnaire format. In the introduction, the understanding and sustainability of floristry design were considered. The questionnaire consisted of general purchasing type, packaging related items, and consumer and supplier profile. Consumers were middle class residents living on Mokdong apartment complex, a small number of consumers who aren't living on Mokdong and workers and suppliers were florists currently active nationwide. This study suggests an effective and strategic packaging direction that reflects consumer needs, focusing on the similarity and difference of their needs and it presents them as business models. The results of the future research are expected to be the basis for producing and distributing packaging design.

Effects of Influencers' Curator Competences on Reliability and Purchase Intention in Live Commerce: Comparison between Korea and China (라이브 커머스에서 인플루언서의 큐레이터 역량이 신뢰도와 구매의도에 미치는 영향: 한중비교)

  • As the COVID-19 pandemic confirmed the culture of non-face-to-face consumption. In retail commerce, the 'live commerce' market, where sales are made by communicating with customers in the form of live streaming broadcasts, has grown rapidly. Although previous studies have consistently confirmed the phenomenon of "influencers" in society and culture, there is a lack of research on the "sales expertise" of live commerce broadcasters such as Wang Hong in China. In China, "Wang Hong" is short for "Wang Luo Hong Ren", a combination of "Wang Luo", which means the Internet, and "Hong Ren", which means star, and refers to a person who is popular through social platforms and is gaining popularity from many fans. Therefore, this study focuses on Wang Hong's developing "selling expertise" and examines it from the perspective of a shopping curator. In particular, we applied Harold Jarche(2011)'s "Seek-Sense-Share" model to influencers to verify their influence on trust and purchase intention in live commerce. Furthermore, we analyzed the differences between Korea and China.A survey was conducted among live commerce users in Korea and China, and a total of 228 questionnaires were used in the final analysis. Basic statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS and hypotheses were tested using PLS 3.0. The results of the hypothesis testing showed that influencers' curatorial competence "Seek-Sense-Share" had a significant effect on trust, and trust had a positive effect on purchase intention. In addition, there is a significant difference between Korean and Chinese consumers in this relationship.

A Study of Phthalate and Adipate Esters in Food Packaging and Packaged Foods (식품포장용 wrap 및 식품 종류에 따른 Phthalate 및 Adipate Esters에 대한 연구)

  • A study of the levels of phthalate and adipate esters, which are suspected as endocrine disruptors, in food packaging wraps and packaged foods were carried out. Among 11 wrap samples, 8 household wraps purchased at retail markets were polyvinyl chloride(PVC) and polyethylene(PE), while 3 commercial wraps at wholesale markets were PVC. All of 51 selected food samples, such as 12 samples of vegetable, 11 samples of fruit, 6 samples of bread and rice cake, 4 samples of meat and poultry, 4 samples of fish and 14 samples of side dish, packaged with commercial PVC wraps containing adipate esters were purchased at retail markets. The level of di-(2-ethylhexyl) adipate(DEHA) and diisononyl adipate(DINA) was from 2.2 to 17.9% and from 4.2 to 22.3% in household PVC wraps, respectively. In the commercial PVC wraps, the level of DEHA showed from 18.3 to 22.5%, while other phthalate esters were not detected. The phthalate and adipate esters were not detected in PE wraps. The level of DEHA in packaged foods, such as vegetable, fruit, bread and rice cake, meat and poultry, fish and side dish, were determined up to $8.2\;{\mu}g/cm^2,\;17.4\;{\mu}g/cm^2,\;31.0{\mu}g/cm^2,\;8.3\;{\mu}g/cm^2,\;2.1\;{\mu}g/cm^2$ and $92.3\;{\mu}g/cm^2$, respectively. The results suggested that migration levels of DEHA in foods were closely related to the fat content, wrapping condition of food and stroage time and temperature.

Equipped for the purpose of consumer market place responsiveness unreasonable propelled outward from the Painter-sized weakens the organizational power. also, Difficult to succeed organizational size is a dissolution or anything within a few years, farmers around the best producer organizations, such as deviation occurs is exposed to a variety of issues.   • A franchise can be said to be the main method of distribution and marketing. It appears to be the future of the retail industry and is one of the world's fastest growing businesses sectors, as many policy reports and research results have acknowledged. Korea's franchise industry began in the 1970s, spread out into many areas (including food services, retail, and the service industry), and has grown by over 10% each year ever since. The industry's influence on the national economy becomes ever greater. Although the size of the franchise industry is expected to grow as it spreads and as the government expands its support, it has not yet attracted much academic interest. Research has so far been very fragmented. The main interest has been the relationship and conflicts between the head offices and the affiliates. No study has yet occurred on whether the concepts of satisfaction and intent to conclude a contract directly affect the success or failure of the affiliates. Few studies have empirically inquired into the demographic characteristics and abilities of the affiliates that significantly affect their results. Domestic franchise industries must prepare to leap from quantitative to qualitative growth. Most important is the need for affiliate headquarters and affiliates to build confidence between them. A friendly and reliable relationship between affiliate headquarters and affiliates will eliminate distrust from the franchise and maintain a healthy franchise system. This study suggests that current and prospective heads of affiliation should concentrate not on attracting affiliates but on investment and techniques of affiliate support. They should work on the reinforcement of brand power, the appropriate affiliate business environment, systematic education/training, taking burdens off the affiliate business persons, consolidating the relationship with the affiliate business persons, marketing mix factors (e.g. products, price conditions, logistics and shipping services, promotion, supervising and supervisor, operation procedures/processes, and material evidence); these all greatly affect the success or failure of the affiliate business. Supporting the affiliates is an important factor that enhances their results and satisfaction and consequently increases the positive recommendations to others and the ratio of recurrent conclusions of contracts, which ultimately generate the growth of the franchises. In addition, it is suggested that prospective franchise founders should make every effort to choose a good head office since the characteristics of the head office greatly influence the success of the affiliates. This study is significant in that it grasps the characteristics of the head office of affiliation and of the affiliates that influence affiliate results in ways not yet academically attempted.

Survival of Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella Typhimurium in Retail Mandarin Orange, Prunus mume (Maesil) and Kiwi Extracts (시판 감귤주스, 매실주스 및 키위 즙에서 Listeria monocytogenes와 Salmonella Typhimurium의 생존성)

  • Inactivation of Salmonella Typhimurium and Listeria monocytogenenes in mandarin orange, Prunus mume (maesil), and kiwi juices was evaluated. A three-strain mixture of S. Typhimurium or L. monocytogenes was inoculated (7 log CFU/ml) into a commercial mandarin orange juice and maesil juice, and home-maid kiwi extract. The inactivation effect of Maesil juice was estimated by the addition into the other two fruit juices. All fruit juices had acidic pH, ranging from 2.8 to 3.5 and it was not variable during all experimental period, being at $4^{\circ}C$ for 14 days, The present study demonstrated that Maesil juice inactivated throughly L. monocytogenes within 7 days, while kiwi extract and mandarin orange juice archived 3.0-log inactivation and 1.0-log inactivation, respectively, until 14 days of storage. S. Typhimurium was completely reduced by Maesil juice and kiwi extract within 14 days, but mandarin orange juice showed only 1.4-log inactivation. The inactivation of L. monocytogenes and S. Typhimurium was increased by adding 10% maesil juice to both mandarin orange juice and kiwi extract.

The Qualitative Study on the Customer Experience of Shopping Centers - Focused on Comparison between Internal and External Experience Elements on the Fashion Brand Stores - (대형 쇼핑센터에서의 소비자 체험에 관한 탐색적 연구 - 패션브랜드 매장 내·외부에서의 체험요소 비교를 중심으로 -)

  • In this study, the Pine & Gilmore(1998) and Schmitt(1999, 2003), based on previous studies. Recent trends in large department stores and distribution outlets, discount stores and large retail centers, such as the consumer's experience is divided into internal and external fashion brand stores navigation study. Fashion Brand Stores are defined as the inside of the fashion brand store of the form that sells only the products of a fashion company's brand. Meanwhile, shopping center is defined as all the places at the inside and out of the shopping center excluding the inside of the fashion brand store. Likewise, definitions are clarified as such for use. As for the research method for this study, semi-structured focus group interviews were used since they could provide many more data compared to in-depth interviews. Accordingly, data was collected while carrying out free discussions while two to three subjects listened to each other's opinion regarding the key words raised by the interviewer and while thinking about their experience at the inside and outside of the fashion brand stores. As for the subjects, female consumers between the ages of 20 and 50 were targeted, and the interviews conducted with four, seven, four and three women in their 20s, 30s, 40s and 50s, were used, respectively. Likewise, there were a total of 18 subjects. Exploratory Study of Customer Experience area was classified into integration of significance and categorization. In particular, the contents were classified into elements of experience inside the fashion brand stores and fashion brand stores outsider experience in the shopping center elements and the elements of the common experience of fashion stores and shopping centers based on the results concerning the key contents identified in-depth from the customer aspect. The key experience elements at the inside of fashion brand stores were identified as VMD experience, emotional experience, and experience of the service provided by sales representatives. As for the key experience elements at the shopping center which is at the outside of the fashion brand store, they included service scape experience, cultural event experience, playful behavior experience. Meanwhile, elements of common experience included educational experience and exclusivity experience and human respect experience, which demonstrated some difference in terms of the contents.
