  • The proper equivalent circuit is newly presented for electro-magnetic resonance based wireless power transfer. Based on the proposed equivalent circuit of open-ended helical antennas, the parameter identification of helical antennas can be well derived for highly efficient wireless power transfer. The well-established equivalent circuit in high frequency ranges is developed for analyzing a resonance enhanced-electromagnetic coupling helical antennas and the unknown parameters for helical antennas are identified by experiments. The effectiveness based on the proposed equivalent circuit is verified through experiments.

  • This paper shows the procedure to determine the physical variables of the simple synthetic testing facility using LC resonance circuit and presents the calculated results of those variables for the LC resonance circuit which can be used to test circuit breakers up to 36kV 40kA class. Attention has also been paid to the advantages of the LC resonance circuit compared with the method adopting short-circuit generator for the development of circuit breakers.

  • Power transformers, air-intakes and stacks in the urban combined power plant are main noisy sources. Because of Inhabitant complaint by abnormal noise transferred from the power plant. the noise was investigated at power plant and uptown area. The result of diagnosis made the acoustic resonance phenomenon by 580Hz's combustion dynamic pressure with the standing wave mode of sound fields in exhaust passageway of gas turbine into main noise source of public complain. The abnormal noise is caused by the resonance exhaust noise transferred through stacks of power plant.

  • Ginseng is used as a medicinal ingredient. The quality control of species, age, origin and manufacturing process is important. The metabolome of ginseng about quality was studied in many reports. Almost studies carried out the extract of ginseng, however, the reproducibility cannot be obtained using extracted sample. In this study, powdery ginseng samples were analyzed using high resolution-magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance (HR-MAS NMR)-based metabolomics except extraction step. Sample was measured three times using 600 MHz NMR spectrometer equipped with nano probe. Reproducibility can be enhanced using this method and the metabolic profiles of ginseng were identified and quantified.

  • Magnetic Resonance Electrical Impedance Tomography(MREIT) is a new medical imaging technique for the cross-sectional conductivity distribution of a human body using both EIT(Electrical Impedance Tomography) and MRI(Magnetic Resonance Imaging) system. MREIT system was designed to enhance EIT imaging system which has inherent low sensitivity of boundary measurements to any changes of internal tissue conductivity values. MREIT utilizes a recent CDI (Current Density Imaging) technique of measuring the internal current density by means of MRI technique. In this paper, a mathematical modeling for MREIT and image reconstruction method called the alternating J-substitution algorithm are presented. Computer simulations show that the alternating J-substitution algorithm provides accurate high-resolution conductivity images.

  • Dynamic analysis of nano/micro bio-sensors based on a multiscale atomistic/continuum theory is introduced. We use a generalized atomistic finite element method (GAFEM) to analyze a bio-sensor which has $3{\times}N_a{\times}N_p$ degrees of freedom, where $N_p$ is the number of representative unit cells and $N_a$ is the number of atoms per unit cell. The stiffness matrix is derived from interatomic potential between pairs of atoms. This work contains two studies: (1) the resonance analysis of nano bio-sensors with different amount of target analyte and (2) the dependence of resonance frequency on finite element mesh. We also examine the Courant-Friedrichs-Lewy (CFL) condition based on the highest resonance frequency. The CFL condition is the criterion for the time step used in the dynamic analysis by GAFEM. Our studies can be utilized to predict the performance of micro/nano bio-sensors from atomistic perspective.

  • In this work, the problem of resonance caused by some gravitational potentials due to Mercury and a third body, namely the Sun, together with some non-gravitational perturbations, specifically coronal mass ejections and solar wind in addition to radiation pressure, are investigated. Some simplifying assumptions without loss of accuracy are employed. The considered force model is constructed. Then the Delaunay canonical set is introduced. The Hamiltonian of the problem is obtained then it is expressed in terms of the Deluanay canonical set. The Hamiltonian is re-ordered to adopt it to the perturbation technique used to solve the problem. The Lie transform method is surveyed. The Hamiltonian is doubly averaged. The resonance capture is investigated. Finally, some numerical simulations are illustrated and are analyzed. Many resonant inclinations are revealed.

  • Employing the non-local strain gradient theory (NSGT), this paper investigates the nonlinear resonance characteristics of functionally graded material (FGM) nanoshells with initial geometric imperfection for the first time. The effective material properties of the porous FGM nanoshells with even distribution of porosities are estimated by a modified power-law model. With the guidance of Love's thin shell theory and considering initial geometric imperfection, the strain equations of the shells are obtained. In order to characterize the small-scale effect of the nanoshells, the nonlocal parameter and strain gradient parameter are introduced. Subsequently, the Euler-Lagrange principle was used to derive the motion equations. Considering three boundary conditions, the Galerkin principle combined with the modified Lindstedt Poincare (MLP) method are employed to discretize and solve the motion equations. Finally, the effects of initial geometric imperfection, functional gradient index, strain gradient parameters, non-local parameters and porosity volume fraction on the nonlinear resonance of the porous FGM nanoshells are examined.

  • We study the linear-nonlinear quantum transport theory of Wannier-Landau transition system in the confinement of electrons by a square well confinement potential. We use the projected Liouville equation method with the ensemble density projection technique. We select the dynamic value under a linearly oscillatory external field. We derive the dynamic value formula and the memory factor functions in three electron phonon coupling systems and electron impurity coupling systems of two transition types, the intra-band transitions and inter-band transitions. We obtain results that can be applied directly to numerical analyses. For simple example of application, we analyze the absorption power and line-widths of ZnO, through the numerical calculation of the theoretical result in the Landau system.

  • PURPOSES : The dynamic modulus for a specimen can be determined by using either the non-destructed or destructed testing method. The Impact Resonance Testing (IRT) is the one of the non-destructed testing methods. The MTS has proved the source credibility and has the disadvantages which indicate the expensive equipment to operate and need a lot of manpower to manufacture the specimens because of the low repeatability with an experiment. To overcome these shortcomings from MTS, the objective of this paper is to compare the dynamic modulus obtained from IRT with MTS result and prove the source credibility. METHODS : The dynamic modulus obtained from IRT could be determined by using the Resonance Frequency (RF) from the Frequency Response Function (FRF) that derived from the Fourier Transform based on the Frequency Analysis of the Digital Signal Processing (DSP)(S. O. Oyadigi; 1985). The RF values are verified from the Coherence Function (CF). To estimate the error, the Root Mean Squared Error (RMSE) method could be used. RESULTS : The dynamic modulus data obtained from IRT have the maximum error of 8%, and RMSE of 2,000MPa compared to the dynamic modulus measured by the Dynamic Modulus Testing (DMT) of MTS testing machine. CONCLUSIONS : The IRT testing method needs the prediction model of the dynamic modulus for a Linear Visco-Elastic (LVE) specimen to improve the suitability.
