This study is targeting Special Library users and aims to find out whether participation in the cultural events of K Special Library affects the levels of satisfaction and recognition of library users. With consideration for the actual operating case, the cultural events of K Special Library were categorized into reading activities, reading promotion events, exhibition events, lecture events, and others. The influential relationship between these cultural events, the level of satisfaction, intention of reuse, and level of recognition of the K Special Library service were analyzed. As a result of this study, participation in cultural events was found to affect the level of use, level of satisfaction on services, intention to reuse and recommend, and level of recognition of K Special Library users. However, regarding the level of satisfaction on the collection of books, there was no significant difference arising from participation in cultural events. As such, it is concluded that participation in cultural events does not affect the level of satisfaction on the collection of the books.

With social support for reading clubs expanding, the purpose of this study is to examine the operational status of reading clubs, to investigate how useful policy support is, and to discuss the challenges to be solved in order to vitalize the reading clubs in the future. To the end, this study intends (1) to investigate the composition of the reading club and the status of participation in the reading clubs, (2) to analyze the satisfaction of club activities from the perspective of club members, and identify the results and the meaning of support activities so far, and (3) to discuss strategies to vitalize reading clubs. The data for discussion were collected through a survey of reading club members supported by a local government, and the collected data was analyzed using frequency analysis.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of service factors of used book transactions, which are becoming a major service in online bookstores, on customer satisfaction and the effect of customer satisfaction on reuse intention. 235 samples were collected through a survey for users of used book transaction services in their 20s or older, and 205 surveys were adopted through the refining process. Hypotheses were verified through factor analysis, reliability analysis, and structural model analysis using SPSS22.0 and AMOS22.0 statistical programs. Some factors were supported between service factors and customer satisfaction, and customer satisfaction had a significant effect on reuse intention, and moderating effects according to the preferred genre of reading were founded. More differentiated services should be considered according to the customer's preferred genre, as the services of online bookstores are becoming more standardized, customers do not feel differentiated.

This study investigated the actual condition focusing on the lighting environment which is a major element in aspect of indoor environment of a public library and assessed user satisfaction. Research results are as follows: Firstly, numbers of lighting fixtures per dimension of a reading room in a public library were inconsistent due to the lack of definite regulations, which was found to have negative effect on night time illuminance. Secondly, it was assessed that illuminance between the day time influenced by natural lighting and in the nighttime without natural lighting has more than 10-fold difference. Therefore, such a condition is judged to be inappropriate for lighting environment of a reading room where users spend a long time studying and thus, it is considered that an appropriate measures should be taken. Thirdly, as the survey result on users' satisfaction with lighting environment was revealed to be lesser than 3 points, lighting plan in consideration of its users should be progressed.

The purpose of this study was to identify the status of adolescents' user satisfaction with the 22 libraries of Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education and to improve the quality of information services for adolescents by improving the factors of dissatisfaction, and ultimately, to activate the use of young adults in the libraries of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education. In addition, in the transition to the digital age, it was attempted to investigate the use of Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Digital Library in the context of the inevitable change of reading media. Through this, this study suggested planning a reading program that could arouse adolescents' interest and reflect new information technologies, improving the scope and system of e-book services, linking with school libraries, and restructuring library' space.

The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of school library personnel on students' reading behaviors and to identify differences between schools on it. For this purpose, this study surveyed 5,349 elementary, middle and high school students from 154 schools across Korea, and conducted a survey on reading environment, school library, and DLS. The results of the analysis showed that the students at the school where teacher librarians works are more likely to read books, participate in various reading programs, receive more help from teacher librarians in selecting books to read, lending more books, have more experience with DLS and satisfaction with it. The differences between the schools were in the order of 'classes which school library personnel took part in,' 'number of borrowed books,' 'help in selecting books,' 'average reading time per day,' 'number of home books,' 'reading in school library.' Therefore, it is necessary to expand the placement of school library personnel and develop their professionalism in order to prevent inequality in the educational environment between schools.

This study was conducted to verify the effects of an school library program using picture books and graphic organizers on first grade children's literacy abilities and book lending, and to evaluate the program with mothers' and mentors' responses. Twenty eight first graders of an elementary school in Kyunggi province participated in this program. Their reading and writing abilities were tested, and their book lending behaviors were compared before and after the whole program. The participants explored 20 picture books by reading aloud and expressed their responses on the graphic organizers over 11 weeks. The findings of this study after the whole session was complete were as follows. First, participants significantly improved in reading comprehension and writing assessed in terms of fluency, format, organization, expression, contents, and themes. Second, they lent books more frequently from the library than before. Third, participants' mothers showed great satisfaction for the program in that it enhanced child's reading ability, reading attitude, and mother's interest in children's books and library, and mentors also reported very positive impact of this program to themselves.

This study aimed to identify the efficiency of online non-face-to-face English classes to propose possibilities for expanding these types of classes in a sustainable way even in the post-COVID era. Moreover, the study suggests pedagogical implications for the directions that should be further explored for online non-face-to-face English classes. To this end, the study employed an online non-face-to-face English reading class using Zoom and investigated the effects of online teaching on college students' reading comprehension via two achievement tests. The study also analyzed learners' satisfaction or dissatisfaction with this online non-face-to-face English reading class (and their reasons) through a questionnaire. Ultimately, the study found that online non-face-to-face English reading classes have a positive effect on learners' reading comprehension learning. In addition, the reasons for learners' satisfaction with online non-face-to-face classes include systematic class progress, class quality, and efficiency of learning. Instructors must be aware of the need to expand online non-face-to-face classes, for which they will have to be thoroughly prepared in advance. Instructors will also need to implement efficient online class activities, organize classes systematically with detailed explanations, and provide quick and useful feedback.

The purpose of this study is to suggest how to activate the school library by examining how the users' perceive teacher librarians. For this purpose, questionnaires and in-depth interviews were conducted for students in 10 middle and high schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi. Analyses lead to these findings: the image types of teacher librarians were classified as professional image, active image, and simple-work image. Multiple regression analysis was used to examine the effect of teacher librarians images on school library user satisfaction. In order to enhance the teacher librarians images and school library user satisfaction, it is necessary to strive to cultivate the active attitude and professionalism of teacher librarians. Also, as the frequency of use is lower, the teacher librarians' images are viewed as simple work. Therefore, it is required to consider various reading events and reading education to raise the frequency of use. This study shows that the teacher librarians' images have a positive effect on school library users' satisfaction and suggests improvement plan for school library activation.

This study has a purpose of understanding residents' and librarians' perception on the role of school library as local reading cultural center. For this purpose, we conducted survey on the residents' in schools located in Gyeonggi-do, Korea whose library is open to local community and conducted telephone interview with librarians in these school libraries. The study results can be summarized as follows. First, most of the residents' perceived that reading cultural programs of school library are necessary and showed positive satisfaction on the currently running reading cultural programs. Moreover, the residents' perceived that the reading cultural programs had positive impact on the activation of school library. Second, although librarians in charge of school library were aware of the importance of the role of school library as local cultural center, it was shown that school library was not providing diverse reading cultural programs due to budget insufficiency.
