Water vapor is main absorption factor of outgoing longwave radiation. So, it is essential to monitoring the changes in the amount of water vapor and to understanding the causes of such changes. In this study, we monitor temporal variability of Total Precipitable Water (TPW) which observed by satellite. Among climate variables, precipitation play an important part to analyze temporal variability of water vapor because it is produced by water vapor. And El $Ni{\tilde{n}}o$ is one of climate variables which appear regularly in comparison with the others. Through them, we analyze relationship between temporal variability of TPW and climate variable. In this study, we analyzed long-term change of TPW from Moderate-Resolution Imaging Spectroadiometer (MODIS) data and change of precipitation in middle area of Korea peninsula quantitatively. After these analysis, we compared relation of TPW and precipitation with El $Ni{\tilde{n}}o$. The aim of study is to research El $Ni{\tilde{n}}o$ has an impact on TPW and precipitation change in middle area of Korea peninsula. First of all, we calculated TPW and precipitation from time series analysis quantitatively, and anomaly analysis is performed to analyze their correlation. As a result, TPW and precipitation has correlation mostly but the part had inverse correlation was found. This was compared with El $Ni{\tilde{n}}o$ of anomaly results. As a result, TPW and precipitation had inverse correlation after El $Ni{\tilde{n}}o$ occurred. It was found that El $Ni{\tilde{n}}o$ have a decisive effect on change of TPW and precipitation.
The n-type and p-type silicon samples were exposed by 40.0, 3.98 MeV proton beams ranging between 0 to $20.0{\times}10^{13}protons/cm^2$. Coincidence Doppler Broadening Positron Annihilation Spectroscopy (CDBPAS) were applied to study of defect characteristics of p type and n type silicon samples. In this investigation the numerical analysis of the spectra was employed to the determination of the shape parameter, S, defined as the ratio between the amount of counts in a central portion of the gamma spectrum and the total counts of whole gamma spectrum. The S-parameter values strongly depend on the irradiated proton beam that indicated the defects generate more, rather than the energy intensity. 40 MeV irradiated proton beam in the n-type silicon at $20.0{\times}10^{13}protons/cm^2$ was larger defects than 3.98 MeV irradiated proton beam. It was analysis between the proton irradiation beams and the proton intensities of the irradiation. Because of the Bragg peak, SRIM results shows mainly in a certain depth of the sample to form the defect by the proton irradiation, rather than the defects to appear for the entire sample.

As a part of the multidisciplinary oceanographic study for the productivity enhancement in Deukryang Bay, temperature and salinity were observed from 1992 through 1993. From the results, only the data in summer of two years are compared. Owing to the contrary meteorolgical conditions in both summers both of temperature and salinity had the patterns of horizontal distributions quite different from each other. In 1992 with low precipitation, there was a tendency of temperature increase and salinity decrease from the bay mouth towards the bay head. In 1993 when the air temperature was abnormally low, isotherms and isotherms tended to be parallel to the local u3s of the bay where the warmer and less saline water distributed along the western coast. Reduced solar radiation and increase in the relative importance of the distribution of properties along the current that was parallel to the axis of the bay could be responsible for this result. Vertical structures of both temperature and salinity were dependent on the stirring effect of tidal current. Stratification was destroyed during the spring tide while it was formed during the neap tide.

The characteristis of all the instruments and materials used in atomic industry are changed due to irradiation damages by the effects of radiation activities. In this study when R-C series-parallel circuits are irradiated by $\gamma$-ray, variations in its electrical properties have been investigated. The following results are obtained. 1) In the R-C series circuit, the impedance variation ratio is increased as the irradiation quantity is increased up to $10^6[r]$, and above $10^6[r]$, the impedance variation ratio reached at the saturated condition. In the saturated condition, the increasing value was about 1.25 (%). 2) In the R-C series circuit, the power factor variation ratio is decreased as the irradiation quantity is in creased up to $10^6[r]$, and above $10^6[r]$, the power factor variation ratio reached at the saturated condition. In the saturated condition, the decreasing value was about 0.5(%). 3) In the R-C parallel circuit, the impedance variation ratio is increased as the irradiation quentity is increased up to $10^6[r]$, and above $10^6[r]$, the impedance variation reached at the saturated condition. In the saturated condition, the increasing value was about 0.5.(%). 4) In the R-C parallel circuit, the power factor variation ratio is decreased as the irradiation quantity is increased up to $10^6$[r], and above $10^6$[r], the power factor variation ratio reached at the saturated condition. In the saturated condition, the decreasing value was about 1.3(%).
The accurate radiative transfer model simulation is essential for an accurate ozone profile retrieval using optimal estimation from backscattered ultraviolet (BUV) measurement. The input parameters of the radiative transfer model are the main factors that determine the model accuracy. In particular, meteorological parameters such as temperature and surface pressure have a direct effect on simulating radiation spectrum as a component for calculating ozone absorption cross section and Rayleigh scattering. Hence, a sensitivity of UV ozone profile retrievals to these parameters has been investigated using radiative transfer model. The surface pressure shows an average error within 100 hPa in the daily / monthly climatological data based on the numerical weather prediction model, and the calculated ozone retrieval error is less than 0.2 DU for each layer. On the other hand, the temperature shows an error of 1-7K depending on the observation station and altitude for the same daily / monthly climatological data, and the calculated ozone retrieval error is about 4 DU for each layer. These results can help to understand the obtained vertical ozone information from satellite. In addition, they are expected to be used effectively in selecting the meteorological input data and establishing the system design direction in the process of applying the algorithm to satellite operation.

This study was performed to investigate the anti-photoaging effects of Persimmon leaf tea(PLT) in hairless mice(SKH-1) exposed to UVB irradiation. The animals were divided into non-treated group (normal, N) and UV-radiated groups. UV-radiated groups were divided into only UV-radiated group(control, C) and UV-radiated and PLT treated experimental groups[first extraction treated group(PLT-I), second extraction treated group(PLT-II), and third extraction treated group(PLT-III)]. Three PLT treated experimental groups of mice were treated with both oral administration(300 mg/Kg B.W./day) and topical application (100 ul of 2% conc./mouse/day) for 4 weeks. Anti-photoaging effects of Persimmon leaf were evaluated by anti oxidative reaction, stereomicroscopic and microscopic observations. The expression of photoaging skin related factors including mast cell tryptase, proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) was examined by immunohistochemical staining. Treatment of PLT-I, -II, -III prevented the wrinkle formation as well as epidermal hyperplasia, inflammatory cells, disruption of collagen in photoaged skin induced by UVB radiation. It also reduced the PCNA and VEGF expression in the UVB irradiated dorsal skin. Furthermore, it significantly decreased the number of mast cells in the UVB irradiated dermis(p<0.05 and p<0.01). On the effects of oxidative stress and antioxidant function on the treatment with water extract from Persimmon leaf tea(PLT), the activity of superoxide dismutase(SOD) was significantly increased in PLT-III group(p<0.05), and catalase(CAT) was significantly increased in PLT-I and PLT-III groups(p<0.05), and PLT-II group(p<0.001). These extracts showed relatively antioxidant activity and protective effect on UVB-induced oxidative stress in hairless mice(SKH-1). Our results suggest that Persimmon leaf tea may serve as an useful radical scavenging antioxidant and anti-photoaging skin agents in the UVB irradiated skin.

Citrus canker caused by Xanthomonas citri subsp. citri (Xcc) has been quarantined by many countries in the world. Recently, the usage of methyl bromide should be limited, application by gamma irradiation on the agricultural production is raised as an alternative method. In this study, the level of gamma irradiation which could decrease of population of Xcc in the suspension or on the surface of citrus fruit was investigated. The $D_{10}$ value of Xcc, which is radiation dose required to reduce the number of the microorganism, was 55 and 28 Gy in the suspension and on the surface of citrus fruit, respectively. Furthermore, disease severity was suppressed on the citrus leaves inoculated with Xcc suspension pre-treated with gamma irradiation. Based on this study, it is suggested that Xcc on the citrus fruit could be eradicated by gamma irradiation and the results of this study may be valuable for application of gamma ray in quarantine activity.

This study was conducted to analyze the relationship between climate factors and fruit characteristics of 'Sangjudungsi' persimmon (Diospyros kaki THUNB) has been mainly cultivated in Sangju of Korea. We has been surveyed the yield and fruit characteristics such as fruit weight and soluble solids of 'Sangjudungsi' persimmon from 2010 to 2015 for five years. Also, as major meteorological factor, mean air temperature, cumulative temperature and days, the data of sunshine duration, diurnal range, and rainfall were collected from Sangju Regional Meteorological Administration. As result of that, the annual variation of fruit weight was affected by sunshine duration for April and October related starting point of fruit weight increase. The content of soluble solids was affected by sunshine duration for April and October similarly with fruit weight and was negatively correlated with the number of days with precipitation in the year. These results indicate the characteristics related to fruit quality like the above were affected by the sunshine duration and precipitation which is critical factor for the intensity of radiation during rapid growth period (April and October). Fruit number and yield per tree was commonly affected by mean air temperature of April and cumulative temperature days of October. These results also indicate that temperature for period of rapid growth stage of persimmon may have an important role in the fruit number and yield per tree.

The effect of gamma irradiation on the survival of spore bacteria was investigated in frozen cells ($-18^{\circ}C$) with 0.1 M phosphate buffer and inoculated cells in beef. In the case of the frozen cells at log phase, the radiation $D_{10}\;and\;12D_{10}$ values were 0.29 kGy and 3.48 kGy in Bacillus subtilis, 0.39 kGy and 4.68 kGy in Bacillus cereus and 0.46 kGy and 5.52 kGy in Clostridium perfrigens. And inactivation factors were 6.52~10.34 and 10.87~17.24 at the dosage of 3 kGy and 5 kGy, respectively. The radiosensitivity of inoculated cells in beef showed the $D_{10}$ value of 0.59~0.76 kGy, the $12D_{10}$ value of 7.08~9.12 kGy, and inactivation factors of 3.95~8.47. The radiosensitivity of the frozen cells was higher than that of inoculated cells in beef.
The aim of this study was to assess the effect of exposure factors such as kVp and mA applied by BMI on the image quality and patients absorbed dose of Coronary angiography in CT. Each data sets were into 4groups with different exposure values : Group A at 100kVp, 240mAs, Group B at 120kVp, 240mAs, Group C at 100kVp, 270mAs and Group D at 120kVp, 270mAs, and the mean of the scores of 4 groups was calculated for image quality as 4grades that is, 1(poor), 2(fair), 3(good) and 4(very good). Patient absorbed dose was calculated as DLP on the monitor. In case of absorbed dose, deviation in 2groups at 100kVp was 5.6 $mGy{\cdot}cm$, 11 $mGy{\cdot}cm$, was at 120kVp(DLP) with p<0.05. There was rather difference between groups with 100kVp or 120kVp respectively but the gaps were very little. No significant correlation was found between exposure factors and image quality in any images assessed(p>0.05), and the image quality was sufficient for diagnosis. As we applying coronary angiography, the selection of adequate exposure factors considering BMI identified might be effective for reduction of patient absorbed dose, improvement of image quality and diagnostic accuracy.
