식쌍성 DO Cas의 광도곡선과 시선속도곡선의 분석 (AN ANALYSIS OF THE LIGHT AND RADIAL VELOCITY CURVES OF DO CAS)

  • DO Cas는 최근 Shaw (1990)에 의해 근접촉쌍성으로 분류된 공전주기 0.68일의 식쌍성이다. 짧은 공전주기를 가짐에도 불구하고 Mannino (1958) 이후 분광관측에 의한 시선속도 곡선이 발표되지 않고 있다. 그런데 Hill (1991)은 Mannino의 시선속도곡선이 오류를 포함하고 있는 것으 로 보인다고 하였다. 이 연구에서 우리는 Asiago 천문대에 의뢰하여 Mannino가 분석한 분광관측 사진건판을 입수하여 PDS로 측정하여 IRAP로 재분석하였다. 이 시선속도곡선과 1998년에 관측한 BVR 광도곡선을 Wilson-Devinney 방법으로 동시에 분석하였다. 그 결과 DO Cas가 접촉 또는 주성이 로쉬엽을 채우고 있는 접촉에 매우 가까운 준분리형 쌍성임을 확인하였으며 또한 이 계의 절대량을 구하였다.

BF 방법을 이용한 EX Leo의 시선속도 추정 (RADIAL VELOCITY ESTIMATION OF EX Leo USING BF ALGORITHM)

  • We present the result of radial velocity observation of a W UMa type binary star EX Leo. We observed the star on February 16, 2003, using Long-Slit spectrograph of BOAO(Bohyunsan Optical Astronomical Observatory). Since the spectral lines are broad due to its fast rotation, it is difficult to distinguish two radial velocities from cross correlation function. Instead of cross correlation function, we used broadening function to develop our own code which estimate the radial velocity of the broadened line spectra. With our own code, radial velocities of primary and secondary stars are derived simultaneously. From the radial velocity curve fit, we obtained $K_1=50.24{\pm}8.29km/s$ and $K_2=254.05{\pm}20.984km/s$ respectively.

PULSATIONAL CHARACTERISTICS OF V1719 CYGNI WITH PECULIAR LIGHT CURVE

  • The light curve and radial velocity curve of multiperiodic dwarf cepheid VI719 Cyg (HD200925) with peculiar light curve have been reanalyzed in order to identify the oscillation modes to confirm the helium settling within the envelope. To do these, through the period search for the photometric and radial velocity data from the literature, two different periods were determined and the oscillation modes corresponding to the first and second periods were identified as the fundamental and first radial overtones. Hence the helium settling within the envelope was confirmed from the period ratio. The color excess, metallicity, effective temperature, and surface gravity corresponding to two different modes were determined and it was found that these parameters almost do not depend upon different oscillation mode. By utilizing the surface brightness method, we investigated the variation of angular diameter and radial displacement and it was found that the angular variation is very peculiar. Also by referring to the stellar models, mass and age were determined as $2.7M_{\bigodot}$ and 0.42 Gyr respectively which make this variable star heavier and younger than other multimode dwarf cepheids. Preliminary spectroscopic CCD observations were carried out and it was found that Mg in VI719 Cygni is nearly solar abundent according to the analysis of $5172.68{\AA}MgI$ line which is inconsistent with the photometric result. It was suggested that VI719 Cyg may be classified as a $\rho$ Pup stars according to the photometric characteristics.

동아시아 지각과 최상부맨틀의 3차원 S파 속도구조 및 이방성 연구 (Three-dimensional S-wave Velocity Structure and Radial Anisotropy of Crust and Uppermost Mantle Beneath East Asia)

  • 이 연구는 한국, 중국, 일본을 포함하는 동아시아 지역의 지각과 최상부맨틀의 SV파 및 SH파 속도구조와 지진파의 속도 방사 이방성(radial anisotropy)을 알아보기 위해 수행하였다. IRIS (Incorporate Research Institutions for Seismology)에서 동아시아에 설치한 광대역 지진관측소에 기록된 지진자료를 사용하여 레일리파와 러브파를 추출하였으며, MFT (Multiple Filter Technique)을 사용하여 각 성분에 기록된 주기 3 ~ 200초 범위의 레일리파와 러브파의 군속도 분산자료를 획득하였다. 수직성분에서 62466개의 레일리파의 분산곡선 측정값을, 접선(transverse)성분에서 54141개의 러브파의 분산곡선 측정값을 얻을 수 있었다. 얻어진 분산자료를 역산하여 속도모델을 구하였고, 역산된 모델을 통해 깊이 100 km 까지의 SV파 및 SH파 속도 구조를 구하였다. SV파와 SH파 속도구조의 경우, 동일하게 깊이 30 km 까지 동해에서 강한 고속도 이상이 나타나며, 30 km 이상의 깊이에서는 중국 남서쪽의 티벳 고원에서 강한 저속도 이상이 나타난다. SH파 속도구조의 경우, 30 km 이상의 깊이에서 동해에서 상대적으로 더 강한 저속도 이상이 나타난다. 그 결과, 지진파 이방성은 평균적으로 동해지역에서 음의 이방성을, 중국 내륙지역에서 양의 이방성이 관측된다.

NACA 65-810 반경류 에어포일 임펠러의 성능특성 (Performance of NACA 65-810 Radial Airfoil Impellers)

  • Aerodynamic performance tests and flow measurement were carried out for several radial impellers of NACA 65-810 airfoil. The data base obtained are to be used for verifying the methods of flow analysis and CFD codes. The effects of numbers and span of blades on the performances, efficiency and impeller exit flow are investigated in the present study. The flow rate on the performance curve is proportional to the span of the blade for the same value of fan pressure rise. The magnitude of radial velocity component at the impeller exit gradually decreases from the hub to shroud side. The magnitude of tangential velocity component gradually increases from the hub to shroud side. The way of variations of velocity is the same at the diffuser exit, however, becomes more uniform. The pressure rise performance increases with blade number at the small flow coefficients, however, decreases with the number of blade at the large flow coefficients. This shows that flow guidance in important at the low flow rate and the friction becomes significant at the high flow rate.

최대유량역에서 소형 축류 홴의 3차원 난류유동 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Three-Dimensional Turbulent Flour Characteristics of a Small-sized Axial Fan at the Maximum Flowrate Region)

  • This study represents three-dimensional turbulent flow characteristics around an axial fan measured at the operating point ${\varphi}=0.32$, which is equivalent to the maximum flowrate region, by using three-dimensional fiber-optic type LDA system. This LDA system is composed of a 5 W Argon-ion laser, two optics in back-scatter mode, three BSA's, a PC, and a three-dimensional automatic traversing system. A kind of paraffin fog is used for laser particles in this study. Mean velocity profiles around an axial fan along the downstream radial distance show that the streamwise and the tangential components exist as a predominant velocity and have the maximum value at the radial distance ratio 0.8, while the radial component has a small scale distribution and its flow direction is inward except a part of blade tip. The turbulent intensity profiles show that the radial component exists the most greatly. And also the turbulent kinetic energy shows about 60% as a maximum value at the radial distance ratio 0.9. Moreover, the Reynolds shear stresses do not exist at upstream flow, but the streamwise and the radial components of them show about 20% as a maximum value at the radial distance ratio 0.9 at downstream flow.

소형 축류홴의 난류유동 특성치에 대한 LDA 측정 (LDA Measurements on the Turbulent Flow Characteristics of a Small-Sized Axial Fan)

  • The operating point of a small-sized axial fan for refrigerator is strongly dependent upon the system resistance. Therefore, the turbulent flow characteristics around a small-sized axial fan may change significantly according to the operating point. This study represents three-dimensional turbulent flow characteristics around a small-sized axial fan measured at the four operating points such as $\varphi=0.1$, 0.18, 0.25 and 0.32 by using fiber-optic type LDA system. This LDA system is composed of a 5 W Argon-ion laser, two optics in back-scatter mode, three BSA's, a PC, and a three-dimensional automatic traversing system. A kind of paraffin fluid is utilized for supplying particles by means of fog generator. Mean velocity profiles downstream of a small-sized axial fan along the radial distance show that both the streamwise and the tangential components exist predominantly in downstream except $\varphi=0.1$ and have a maximum value at the radial distance ratio of about 0.8, but the radial component, which its velocity is relatively small, is acting role that only turns flow direction to the outside or the central part of axial fan. Moreover, all of the velocity components downstream at $\varphi=0.1$ show much smaller than those upstream due to the static pressure rise at the low-flowrate region.

운전점이 다른 소형 축류홴의 난류 유동장 고찰 (Investigation on the Turbulent Flow-Field of a Small-size Axial Fan with Different Operating Points)

  • The turbulent flow characteristics around a small-size axial fan(SSAF) for a refrigerator are strongly dependent upon the operating points. Four operating points such as $\phi$ =0.1, 0.18, 0.25 and 0.32 were adopted in this study to investigate three-dimensional turbulent flow characteristics around the SSAF by using a fiber-optic type Laser Doppler Anemometer(LDA) system. Downstream mean velocity profiles of the SSAF along the radial distance show that axial and tangential velocity components exist predominantly, except $\phi$ = 0.1, and have a maximum value at $r/R{\fallingdotseq}0.8$, but radial velocity component having a relatively small value only turns flow direction to the outside or the central part of the SSAF. The turbulent intensity shows that the radial component exists most greatly after $r/R{\fallingdotseq}0.5$. Downstream turbulent kinetic energy at $\phi$ = 0.25 and 0.32 together has the largest peak value at $r/R{\fallingdotseq}0.9$.

단일 도플러 레이더를 이용한 풍속데이타 산출기법에 관한 연구 (Evaluation Study on Wind Retrieval Methods from Single-Doppler Radar)

  • This study presents the analysis of an atmospheric flow around a single-doppler radar located in a pseudo-site. The use of a doppler radar in meteorological field of wind engineering has become widespread over the last several decades, but it has generally been recognized that the single-Doppler radar yields only one single velocity component - the radial velocity($V_r$) so that some additional hypotheses or simplifications must be necessary to get proper wind forecast. Therefore, in order to get an accurate radial velocity($V_r$) in this study, the existing methods such as VAD(Velocity Azimuth Display) and VARD(Velocity Area Display) are reformulated and applied to match the previous study(Waldteufel and Corbin), which have been an important indicator for retrieving a radar velocity. The results presented in this study include the results from different assessment methods in a peudo-site of different wind fields. Unless the existing method can consider the proper decomposition of radial velocity in the real site, then authors suggest an appropriate curve-fitting to decrease the uncertainty errors by changing a grid adaptation rate or applying a weighting function with respect to the wind angle. It is concluded that provided properly formulated fitting function are used, the wind retrieval from the Doppler radar using VAD and VARD methods can be a viable tool for use in wind engineering problems searching for the wind resources.
