  • Reducing the energy that consumed by tag is a key requirement for the wider acceptance of the active RFID systems that use battery constrained tags. When the reader is not interrogating, the active RFID standard protocols try to reduce energy consumption of tags by using sleep mode. On sleep mode tags is active by receiving a specific signals from reader, until tag receive a sleep mode command from the reader, a tag waste energy for remaining in RX mode. Overhearing is a state of a tag in which it wastes energy for maintaining active RX state while there is no frame destined to it. According to our analysis, the amount of energy consumed by a tag due to overhearing is several time larger than that consumed by the effective communication. We propose RANO(Reservation Aloha for No Overhearing) that is designed to inform a tag of its effective communication intervals to eliminate overhearing problem in active RFID communication. The performance of the proposed protocol was evaluated through the real world by changing the number of tags and size of data. The result of an experiment, the proposed protocol performed saving about 22 times less than the standard protocol did.

The Effects of the RFID System for Eco-Agricultural Products on Trust and Behavior Intention: Focusing on an Expanded Technology Acceptance Model (친환경농산물 RFID 시스템이 신뢰 및 행동의도에 미치는 영향 : 확장된 기술수용모델(TAM)을 중심으로)

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the effect relation of the external variables of the RFID for eco-agricultural products, that of the external variables on TAM approachableness and usefulness, that of TAM approachableness on usefulness, that of TAM as approachableness and usefulness on trust and behavior intention, and the effect of trust on the behavior intention. The subjects of the actual analysis are the ordinary consumers aged 20 and over living in Seoul and Gyeong-gi Province and have the experience of purchasing eco-agricultural products. Total 300 copies of questionnaire were distributed for 14 days from September 24, 2012 until October 7, 2012, and total 278(92.7%) copies of survey materials were used for the final statistical analysis data except some found too strong unequal distribution of the response value or the value unknown at present. In the analysis results of this study, by examining the effects of the external variables of the RFID for eco-agricultural products on TAM's accessibility and usefulness and verifying the causal relationship between TAM's accessibility and consumers' trust and behavioral intent, this study has a sufficient value as an initial study on the RFID for eco-agricultural products. Thus, the results of this in-depth study show that producers and distributors maintaining and providing with safer eco-agricultural products food directly influence service companies' visible achievements.

  • Recently many researchers are keen interested in the concept of ubiquitous using mobile internet and RFID. Busan also plans to build a first U-city in the areas of port logistics, traffic, tourism convention, medical service. It is important to be accepted by consumers for U-tourism convention service adoption to determine the future growth potential. The purpose of this paper thus examines the effect of tourism contents on U-tourism convention service adoption using technology acceptance model.

  • According to the empirical study, the research model has been verified about the introduction of new ubiquitous technology into the Customs Information System. The research model is meaningful in deducing policy for accepting the new ubiquitous technology into the Customs Information System. The organization style is not yet positively accomplished, because of insufficient recognition about the new ubiquitous instrument. The other side the individual style, environmental style and working characteristics are contribute to accept the new ubiquitous environment, because of sufficient of education, usage and recognizing the usefulness of the portal information. It is established the Customs Information System with new ubiquitous technology such as RFID, DM, UCR etc.. for the usefulness and convenience.

  • Smart city technologies such as transportation and parking systems make our daily lives more efficient and intelligent. However, it is impossible to implement a smart mobility system without analyzing the individual's behavior toward the new technology. This research study attempts to develop a framework for predicting smart mobility antecedents using SEM in primary data analysis. The Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) was the conceptual foundation for this study. To achieve the objectives of the study, one thousand five hundred and twelve effective questionnaires were collected and analyzed using Smart PLS 3.3. The results show that perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, and perceived risk significantly affect attitudes towards adopting smart mobility systems. Our study provides a comprehensive framework to understand individual-level smart city technology adoption. This study offers implications for policymakers to update existing policies concerning road technology.
