Design of Electric Transformer Supply Chain System using Metal Surface Mountable RFID Tag (금속 표면 실장용 RFID 태그를 이용한 변압기 자재 관리 시스템 설계)

  • This paper described a metal mount RFID tag that works reliably on metallic surface. The proposed method is to use commercial RFID tags, Styrofoam103.7 material is attached on back side of RFID tag. Styrofoam103.7 material which has 2.5 mm thickness and 1.03 relative permittivity, was attached on back side of RFID tag. In order to verify the performance of proposed method, we evaluated the experiment on the supply chain system of electric transformers using RFID. The experimental results on supply chain of electric transformers show that the proposed tags can communicate with readers from a distance of 2 m. The results of recognition rates are comparable to commercial metallic mountable tags.

  • 기존 자율주행자동차의 영상 센서 시스템이 표지판에 약간의 부착물만 붙어도 인식이 되지 않는 점을 고려해 Semi-Passive RFID(Radio-Frequency Identification)기술을 이용한다. 각 표지판마다 소스코드를 설정한 후 RFID 태그를 부착하고 자동차의 룸미러 뒤쪽 중앙에 RFID 리더기를 부착해 원거리에서 태그와 리더기의 작용을 통해 영상 센서 시스템의 취약점을 보완해 오류를 줄인다. 태그의 건전지를 대체하여 M24LR16E칩을 적용한다. 이 칩은 기존에 낭비되는 전파와 폐열, 움직임에 따라 발생하는 동작 에너지의 미세한 에너지를 모아 메모리칩을 구동한다. 또한 GPS를 이용한 위치정보 획득 및 지리적 변화의 낮은 정확도를 보완해 도시 인프라에 부착된 RFID를 제안하여 이를 이용한 위치정보 획득과 처리방안의 문제점도 해결한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 물품관리의 효율성을 위해 모바일 RFID리더기와 스마트 모바일 기기를 이용한 스마트 선반 시스템을 제안한다. 이 시스템을 사용하여 관리자는 물품에 부착되어진 태그를 읽어서 실시간으로 물품의 상세정보를 열람할 수 있고, 선반에 부착되어진 태그를 읽어서 물품의 재고나 위치오류 상태를 파악할 수 있다. 이는 각 선반마다 RFID리더기를 부착시킨 형태의 기존의 스마트선반 시스템과 유사한 기능을 수행하면서도 구축비용과 물품 재질에 따른 인식 오류의 해결부담을 줄일 수 있는 효과가 있다.

  • RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) is an emerging technology which brings enormous productivity benefits in applications where objects have to be identified automatically. But despite of RFID's advantage, it is not easy to realize the RFID technology in business world. The failure to read RFID tags is the most urgent problem that should be solved for RFID application. Specially, in metal and liquid material, recognition rate of RFID tag is lower than others. Though some special tags for metal and liquid have been invented, it has not prevalent in business world on account of high price. In this paper, styrofoam pad is suggested to improve recognition rate of RFID tag for metal pipe which is used in fish cultivating industry. We makes experiment using Taguchi method and analyze the effects on styrofoam thickness, attachment location of tag, and angle of antenna.

  • RFID is an essential and inevitable technologies in logistics and manufacturing ones. The progress of RFID technology is still very slow owing to the cost of RFID and peripheral technologies however, some foreign countries such as US and Japan have already adopted RFID into real life for example, transportation and logistics and established its technologies as a commercial ones. Therefore, The purpose of this study is to prove that RFID technology can improve productivity and to take an example of a company adopted RFID technology had improved 50% or more increase in productivity. By demonstrating that, the necessity and effectiveness of RFID has proven. There are still many things to be solved like the development of RFID attaching machine. The machine was also suggested in this study.

  • Using the radio wave, RFID(: Radio Frequency IDentification) wirelessly transmits the unique information saved in a tag attached on the specific object. In the construction area, the trend in using RFID for managing the input and inventory of the construction materials is upward. General management systems for the construction materials have only a function of identifying the tag attached on the construction materials, but the management system with a function of identifying and managing the location information of the construction materials employing RFID, for reusing it, is not actively developed. For the efficient reuse of the construction materials, in this paper, we propose the RFID system with a function of estimating and saving the location information of the specific construction materials, based on the estimated distances between the particular subs and reader. The proposed system consists of RFID reader, distance estimate, communication, and memory units.

  • This paper presents smart laundry management system using wireless Radio Frequnecy Identification (RFID) reader for efficient managing a large amount of laundry and clothing. The proposed system is comprised of wireless RFID hanger, base module connected on PC, and server system. The wireless RFID hanger with RFID reader read RFID tag attached on clothes and transmit tag information using wireless communication. The server system manage customers and his clothing using Database (DB) and display the information on the web page and smart phone devices. Since the proposed system operates with battery, we can evaluate its lifetime to measure current consumption. The designed system can be utilized to manage quantities of clothes and also it will be a good service to improve efficiency of laundry process.

  • Due to the recent surge in single-person households, solitary death is drawing attention as an important social problem. We herein develop an adaptive monitoring system using RFID to protect the socially disadvantaged who are exposed to the risk of solitary death. The developed system consists of a wearable RFID tag, an RFID reader attached to the residence, and a user monitoring App. The developed system measures the retention time of a user with a wearable tag in a place where a reader is attached. When the retention time exceeds an adaptively determined threshold, an emergency notification is sent to the caregiver. We verify the effectiveness of the designed system by implementing a prototype modeling a residence based on Arduino.

  • In this paper, we proposed A Study on Construction of Infrastructure for Handicapped Parking Areas Using RFID. This paper is Construction of the Handicapped Parking Areas infrastructure Using RFID with 900MHz band, and researched the optimal position of the tag attached on the vehicle and the location of RFID reader in order to raise the efficiency of RFID reader and the recognition rate by the handicapped vehicle. The result of research is shown the optimal position of RFID reader establishment when the height of RFID reader is 170cm in height and the angle of $80^{\circ}$ with the ground when the vehicle traveling direction of the antenna and the RFID reader when the surface and the angle of $90^{\circ}$ showed the best position RFID readers installed. Parking spaces for the disabled in accordance with these results the RFID readers installed and it works in conjunction with enforcement camera car tagged crackdown on vehicles and other general management, the system is built to allow handicapped parking spaces that meet the intent of the original purpose being used as expected to contribute significantly.

  • RFID system, which tries to identify a information of the tag using the wireless transmission, has been used to recognize long distance. However, each RFID system uses different way for individual needs. So, it is might not be compatible with the each system using a little different way. Also there is a trouble to freely use the protocols between the one tag and the other reader. So we tested a various RFID tags and readers to use the designed system with several protocols. Therefore, this paper shows that we designed and realized of the testing system for RF characteristics test as well as protocol analysis.
