  • In this research, the sensor and control system for self detecting masticatory muscle relaxation appliances. A strain gauge is used to measure a strength of tooth clenching force. A bridge circuit and voltage amplifier is designed to amplify measured signals and RF transmitter and receiver is also designed to communicate inner and outer mouth device. The experiments are performed to show the effectiveness of designed system.

Fabrication of Ceramic Thin Film Type Pressure Sensors for High-Temperature Applications and Their Characteristics (고온용 세라믹 박막형 압력센서의 제작과 그 특성)

  • This paper describes the fabrication and characteristics of ceramic thin film type pressure sensors based on Ta-N strain gauges for high temperature applications. Ta-N thin-film strain gauges are deposited onto a thermally oxidized Si diaphragm by RF sputtering in an argon-nitrogen atmos[here($N_2$ gas ratio: 8%, annealing condition: 90$0^{\circ}C$, 1 hr.), patterned on a wheatstone bridge configuration, and used as pressure sensing elements with a high stability and a high gauge factor. The sensitivity is 1.097 ~ 1.21 mV/Vㆍkgf/$\textrm{cm}^2$ in the temperature range of 25 ~ 200 $^{\circ}C$ and the maximum non-linearity resistance), non-linearity than existing Si piezoresistive pressure sensors. The fabricated ceramic thin-film type pressure sensor is expected to be usefully applied as pressure and load sensors that os operable under high-temperature.

  • This paper deals with a problem of detecting the inner corrosion of the ACSR(Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced) power lines using a detector which consists of an ECT(Eddy Current Test) sensor, a constant current service, a signal processing unit, and a RF transmitter/receiver unit. The detector runs on the ACSR transmission line and inspects the corrosion of the conductor using the technic of the nondestructive eddy current test. The experimental result shows this detector can efficiently find the zinc loss in ACSR power lines.

  • In this paper, we propose a design of the implementation for a search and rescue system for mountain climbers and evaluate the performance of the system. Search and rescues of people in emergency situations in mountain areas have been difficult due to lack of information about their location. In the proposed design, several small and commonly-available RF-based sensors, some amount of storage and processing devices are used. Infestations offer geographically intermittent coverage at high speeds. The proposed mountain climber tracking system use the directed diffusion scheme combined with infostation system. We also analyze the performance of the proposed system with NS-2 simulation package. From the performance analysis results, we expect that the proposed system will be very useful to early detect climbers' locations in emergency situations in Korea mountain areas.

  • The fabrication and performance of a thin film pressure sensor are described. Cu-Ni thin film strain gauges have been fabricated by RF magnetron sputtering. For all the gauges, the relative chance in resistance ΔR/R with pressure is of the order 10$^{-3}$ for the maximum pressure. The output characteristic is found to be linear over the entire Pressure range (0-30kgf/cm$^2$) and the output sensitivity is 1.6 mV/V. The maximum nonlinearity observed in output characteristics is 0.34%FS for 5V excitation and the hysteresis is less than 0.1%FS.

  • The developed system is captured by RS-232 telecommunication receiving data (temperature and humidity of each incubator) through radio frequency sensor network system and is made by monitoring system for one person collecting each channel data. This monitoring system is capable of monitoring not only PDA through TCP/IP telecommunication but also personal computer. This system is actively application on telecommunication function of LabVIEW and PDA module and is considerably saved in processing time than using in other tools.

  • In this paper, we developed an integrated miniaturized device which acquires and transmits the signal of ECG an interested heartbeat and body's temperature. Electrocardiogram(ECG) is a recording of the electrical activity on the body surface generated by heart. ECG & temperature measurement is collected by wireless sensor (for Ag/AgCl Thin-Film) placed at designated locations on the body. It is that dual wireless sensor will apply variously to Ubiquitous & Healthcare System.

  • 증강현실 기술은 실제 환경에 가상의 물체를 덧씌우는 기술을 말하며, 이는 지리정보의 가시화 같은 작업에 매우 큰 잠재력을 갖고 있다. 하지만 지금까지 연구된 이동형 증강현실 시스템은 사용자의 위치를 파악하기 위해 GPS를 사용하거나 마커를 현장에 붙이는 방식을 사용하였다. 최근 연구들은 마커를 사용하지 않는 방법을 지향하고 있으나 많은 제약을 갖고 있다. 특히 실내의 경우는 GPS정보를 사용할 수 없기 때문에 실내 위치파악을 위해서는 새로운 기술이 필요하다. 최근 무선(RF)기반의 실내 위치 추정 연구가 활발히 수행되고 있지만, 이 또한 다량의 센서와 인식기를 설치해야한다는 제약이 존재한다. 본 연구에서는 한 대의 카메라를 사용하는 SLAM 알고리듬을 이용한 위치 추정기법을 제시하였으며, 추정된 위치를 이용하여 증강현실을 통한 정보 가시화 프로그램을 개발하였다. 이는 실내외 seamless 연동형 u_GIS 시스템의 밑바탕이 될 것이다.

  • 최근 드론은 군사 작전, 물류 운송, 인명 구조 등 다양한 분야에서 활용되고 있으며 관련 산업의 규모는 증가하는 추세이다. 이에 따라, GPS 스푸핑, 조종사 비익명화 등의 드론을 향한 공격 기법들 또한 발달하고 있다. 이런 공격들은 드론에 대한 인증을 도입함으로써 대비할 수 있는 공격들이다. 이에, 학계에서는 강건한 인증을 위해 드론 하드웨어의 고유 특성을 활용할 수 있는 RF 신호, 소리 신호, 드론 내부 센서 신호 등에 기반한 인증 기술들이 연구되어온 바 있다. 본 논문에서는 지금까지의 드론 인증 기술 연구 동향을 분석하고, 이를 기반으로 향후 연구 방향을 제시한다.

Development of a Wideband Power Sensor for the Measurement of Wireless Power (무선 주파수 전력 측정을 위한 광대역 전력 센서 개발)

  • This paper describes the development of a power sensor for wireless signal over the ultra wideband range of 300~3800MHz with the detecting range of 150mW~150W. The proposed power sensor fundamentally has the function of not only detecting wireless power, but recognizing frequency and measuring VSWR. The development of the power sensor is completed through the design of dual directional coupler, design of power detector block which produces DC data using the corresponding RF input power level, and establishment of collecting the exact calibration data. The dual directional coupler has the operating frequency of 300~3800MHz with the 0.085dB of insertion loss, and directivity of 30dB at least at 3800MHz. The developed power sensor has the capability of power sensing with less than 0.25dB of resolution as well as measuring VSWR of 1.17~1.96 under the practical operating situation of very high power up to 150W at 300~3800MHz.
