  • A multi-valued logic(MVL) pass gate is an important element to configure multi-valued logic. In this paper, we designed the Quaternary MIN(QMIN)/negated MIN(QNMIN) gate, the Quaternary MAX(QMAX)/negated MAX(QNMAX) gate using double pass-transistor logic(DPL) with neuron $MOS({\nu}MOS)$ threshold gate. DPL is improved the gate speed without increasing the input capacitance. It has a symmetrical arrangement and double-transmission characteristics. The threshold gates composed by ${\nu}MOS$ down literal circuit(DLC). The proposed gates get the valued to realize various multi threshold voltages. In this paper, these circuits are used 3V power supply voltage and parameter of 0.35um N-Well 2-poly 4-metal CMOS technology, and also represented HSPICE simulation results.

  • Long term observational analysis by climatologists has confirmedthat the global warming is no longer a topic of debate among scientists andpolicy makers. According to the report of IPCC-2001 (Intergovernmental Panelon Climate Change), the global mean surface air temperature is increasinggradually. The reported increase of mean temperature is by 0.6 degree in the end of twentieth century. This could represent severe threat for propertylosses especially due to increase in the number of extreme weather arising out of global warming. period of model integration from 2001 to 2100 using output of ECHAM4/HOPE-G of Max Planet Institute of Meteorology (MPI) for IPCC SRES (Special Report on Emission Scenarios). The main results of this study indicate increase of surface air temperature by 6.20C and precipitation by 2.6% over Korea in the end of 21st century. Simulation results also show that there is increase in daily maximum and minimum temperatures while decrease in diurnal temperature range (DTR). DTR changes are diminished mainly due to relatively rapid increase of daily minimum temperature than that of daily maximumtemperature. It has been observed that increase in precipitation amount anddecrease in the number of rainy days lead to increase of pre precipitationintensity.

  • The Indian summer monsoon behaved an abnormal way in 2002 and as a result there was a large deficiency in precipitation (especially in July) over a large part of the Indian subcontinent. For the study of deficient monsoon of 2002, a recent version of the NCAR regional climate model (RegCM3) has been used to examine the important features of summer monsoon circulations and precipitation during 2002. The main characteristics of wind fields at lower level (850 hPa) and upper level (200 hPa) and precipitation simulated with the RegCM3 over the Indian subcontinent are studied using different cumulus parameterization schemes namely, mass flux schemes, a simplified Kuo-type scheme and Emanuel (EMU) scheme. The monsoon circulation features simulated by RegCM3 are compared with the NCEP/NCAR reanalysis and simulated precipitation is validated against observation from the Global Precipitation Climatology Centre (GPCC). Validation of the wind fields at lower and upper levels show that the use of Arakawa and Schubert (AS) closure in Grell convection scheme, a Kuo type and Emanuel schemes produces results close to the NCEP/NCAR reanalysis. Similarly, precipitation simulated with RegCM3 over different homogeneous zones of India with the AS closure in Grell is more close to the corresponding observed monthly and seasonal values. RegcM3 simulation also captured the spatial distribution of deficient rainfall in 2002.

  • This paper describes a 3.3 (V) low power 4 digit CMOS quaternary to analog converter (QAC) designed with a neuron MOS($\upsilon$MOS) down literal circuit block and cascode current mirror source block. The neuron MOS down literal architecture allows the designed QAC to accept not only 4 level voltage inputs, but also a high speed sampling rate quaternary voltage source LSB. Fast settling time and low power consumption of the QAC are achieved by utilizing the proposed architecture. The simulation results of the designed 4 digit QAC show a sampling rate of 6(MHz) and a power dissipation of 24.5 (mW) with a single power supply of 3.3 (V) for a CMOS 0.35${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ n-well technology.

  • The Yellow Sea experienced glacio-eustasy sea-level fluctuations during the Quaternary period. In the middle part of the Yellow Sea, the Quaternary successions were accumulated by alternating terrestrial, paralic, and shallow marine deposits that reflected the fluctuating sea levels. A long core of 69.2 m was acquired at the YMGR-102 site (33°50.1782'N and 123°48.3019'E) at a depth of 72.5 m in the middle of the Yellow Sea. A four-layered geoacoustic model was reconstructed for the sedimentary succession. It was based on seismic characteristics from 3.5 kHz SBP and air-gun seismic profiles and 96 grain-size properties in the core sample from YMGR-102. For the underwater simulation and experiments, the in-situ P-wave speeds were calculated using the sound speed ratio of the Hamilton method. The geoacoustic model of YMGR-102 can contribute to the reconstruction of geoacoustic models, reflecting the vertical and lateral variability of the acoustic properties in the continental shelf of the middle Yellow Sea.

  • A simulation model was used to examine the effects of climate variation on the tree-ring structure of Larix leptolepis trees growing at a plantation plot in Worak National Park in central Korea. The model uses mathematical equations to simulate processes affecting cell(tracheid) size variations for individual rings using daily precipitation and temperature measurements. Limiting conditions are estimated from temperature, day length and a calculated water balance. The results indicate that the seasonal growth is mostly limited by the soil moisture content and precipitation income during April and May. The April-May temperature also inversely influences the growth by increasing water losses from soil. The global climate-change scenario which includes regional warming(increasing temperature in spring-summer periods) appears to decrease the duration of optimal growths. Consequently, the model estimated that Larix leptolepis would lose the total production of xylem by 25%.

  • The response of the CCCma coupled climate model to the imposition of LGM conditions is investigated. The global mean SAT and SST decrease by about $10^{\circ}C$ and $5.6^{\circ}C$ in the coupled model. Tropical SST decreases by $6.5^{\circ}C$, whereas CLIMAP reconstructions suggest that the tropics cool by only about $1.7^{\circ}C$, although the larger tropical cooling is consistent with the more recent proxy estimates. With the incorporation of a full ocean component, the coupled model gives a realistic spatial SST pattern, capturing features associated with ocean dynamics that are seen in the CLIMAP reconstructions. The larger decrease of the surface temperature in the model is associated with a reduction in global precipitation rate (about 15%). The tropical Pacific warm pool retreats to the west and a mean La $Ni\tilde{n}a$-like response is simulated with less precipitation over the central Pacific and more in the western tropical Pacific. The more arid ocean climate in the LGM results in an increase in SSS almost everywhere. This is particularly the case in the Arctic Ocean where large SSS increase is due to a decrease in river discharge to the Arctic Ocean associated with the accumulation of snow over the ice sheet, but in the North Atlantic by contrast SSS decreases markedly. This remarkable reduction of SSS in the North Atlantic is attributed to an increase in fresh water supply by an increase in discharges from the Mississippi and Amazon rivers and an increase in P-E over the North Atlantic ocean itself. The discharges increase in association with the wetter LGM climate south of the Laurentide ice sheet and in South America. The fresh water capping of the northern North Atlantic results in a marked reduction of deep convection and consequently a marked weakening of the North Atlantic overturning circulation. In the LGM, the maximum overturning stream function associated with the NADW formation decreases by about 60% relative to the control run, while in the Southern Ocean, oceanic convection is stronger in the LGM due to reduced stratification associated with an increase in SSS and a decrease in SST and the overturning stream function associated with the formation of AABW and the outflow increases substantially.

  • In this paper, to increase the use of industrial byproducts for $CO_2$ reduction and to improve construction performance, it was manufactured that $CO_2$ reduction type quaternary component high fluidity concrete (QC-HFC) with Reduced cement usage by more than 80% and its quality and hydration characteristics were evaluated. QC-HFC was found to satisfy the target performance, and the flow and mechanical properties were similar to those of conventional concrete. The drying shrinkage of QC-HFC decreased about twice compared with the conventional blend, and the hydration heat decreased about 36%. As a result, it can be concluded that the amount of cracks can be reduced by reducing temperature stress due to hydration heat reduction effect and reducing deformation due to relatively small temperature difference between inside and outside. Also, As a result of the simulation of the mass structure, the temperature cracking index of QC-HFC is 1.1 or more, and the cracking probability is reduced by about 35%, so that the crack due to temperature can be reduced.

  • This study investigated the efficacy of common sanitizers and disinfectants on E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Listeria monocytogenes and Salmonella Typhimurium spiked on the surface of the main processing machine. All four microorganisms were greatly reduced by hydrogen peroxide (1,100 ppm), iodophors (25 ppm) and quarternary ammonium compounds (200 ppm). The reduction levels of E. coli, S. aureus, S. Typhimurium, and L. monocytogenes were 3.5, 3.4, 3.0, and 2.8 $log_{10}CFU/100cm^2$, respectively. Peroxy compounds and quaternary ammonium compounds can be applied to animal food manufacturing plants as a good sanitizer.

  • In this paper, not only the problems which could not be solved with Conventional Importance Sampling and Improved Importance Sampling of the early simulation method, and but also the improvements obtained in terms of computer run-time were studied, by applying the central moment algorithm to the digital communication channels. That is, the channel performance evaluation is done for obtaining the cumulative probability function of the statistical characteristics of received signal with estimating the central moment of the received signal mixed the noise in the digital communication receiver. We confirm the simulation run-time after we implemented the quaternary phase shift keying(QPSK) satellite communication channels using the Signal Processing Worksystem(SPW) of the Cadence incorporation to verify the suggested algorithm.
