  • Although the self-compacting concrete (SCC) offers several practical and economic benefits and quality improvement in concrete constructions, in comparison with conventionally vibrated concretes confronts with autogenously chemical and drying shrinkage which causes the formation of different cracks and creates different problems in concrete structures. Using different fibers in the mix design and implementation of fibrous concrete, the problem can be solved by connecting cracks and micro cracks together and postponing the propagation of them. In this study an experimental investigation using response surface methodology (RSM) based on full factorial design has been undertaken in order to model and evaluate the polypropylene fiber effect on the fibrous self-compacting concrete and curing time, fiber percentage and fiber amount have been considered as input variables. Compressive strength has been measured and calculated as the output response to achieve a mathematical relationship between input variables. To evaluate the proposed model analysis of variance at a confidence level of 95% has been applied and finally optimum compressive strength predicted. After analyzing the data, it was found that the presented mathematical model is in very good agreement with experimental results. The overall results of the experiments confirm the validity of the proposed model and this model can be used to predict the compressive strength of fibrous self-compacting concrete.

  • Since many man-made systems consist of autonomous and interactive components, it is intrinsically difficult to analyze their abnormal behavior. The logical analysis of such a system is an indispensable process for high quality and reliable system development. In this paper, we propose an analysis method using two algebraic operations, named composition and minimization. Repetitive composition and minimization of component models with respect to a set of important events produces a new analysis model that has the same input output responses to an environment. An analysis example of the alternating bit protocol demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed method showing that each message generated at the sender side eventually arrives to a receiver.

  • In this paper. we Propose an UXGA class LCD controller for controlling the LCD panel. The proposed controller supports the full screen display using GCD between input and output resolutions. The proposed LCD controller includes the motion detector based on median filter which can detect the motion of input image for the enhancement of a image quality. Also, it divides the motion into 3 stages such as still, semi-moving and moving, and uses the different interpolation algorithms according to the degree of motion. In order to evaluate the performance of the proposed interpolation algorithm, we use PSNR method and compare the conventional algorithm by using computer simulation. For the proposed motion detection algorithm, we use a visual verification and the estimation of pixel changes. The proposed LCD controller has been designed and verified by VHDL. It has been synthesized using Xilinx VirtexE FPGA.

  • In this paper, we implemented a web-based virtual laboratory system(VLab system) with creative and interactive multimedia contents, which can be used to enhance the quality of education in the area of digital logic circuits. Since the proposed VLab system is implemented to describe the on-campus laboratory, the learners can obtain similar experimental data through it. Also, the VLab system is designed to increase the learning and teaching efficiencies of both the learners and the educators, respectively. The learners will be able to achieve high teaming standard and the educators save their time and labor. The virtual experiments on our VLab system are performed according to the following procedure: (1) Circuit composition on the virtual bread board (2). Applying input voltage (3) Output measurements (4) Checkout of experiment results. Furthermore, the circuit composition on the virtual bread board and its corresponding online schematic diagram are displayed together on the VLab system for the learner's convenience. Finally, we have obtained several affirmative effects such as reducing the total experimental hours and the damage rate for experimental equipments and increasing learning efficiencies as well as faculty productivity.

  • The Mass Flow Controller(MFC) has become crucial in semiconductor manufacturing equipments. It is an important element because the quality and the yield of a semiconductor process are decided by the accurate flow control of gas. Therefore, the demand for the high speed and the highly accurate control of MFCs has been requested. It is hard to find an article of the control algorithm applied to MFCs. But, it is known that commercially available MFCs have PID control algorithms. Particularly, when the system detects the flow by way of heat transfer, MFC control problem contains the time delay and the nonlinearity. In this presentation, MFC control algorithm with the superior performance to the conventional PID algorithm is discussed and the superiority is demonstrated through the experiment. Fuzzy controller was utilized in order to compensate the nonlinearity and the time delay, and the performance is compared with that of a product currently available in the market. The control system, in this presentation, consists of a personal computer, the data acquisition board and the control algorithm carried out by LabWindows/CVI program on the PC. In addition, the method of estimating an actual flow from sensor output containing the time delay and the nonlinearity is presented. In conclusion, according to the result of the experiment, the proposed algorithm shows better accuracy and is faster than the conventional controller.

  • A technique for realizing linear phase IIR filters has been proposed by Powell-Chau which gives a real-time implementation of H(z-1).H(z), where H(z) is a causal nonlinear phase IIR filter. Powell-Chau system is linear but not timeinvariant system. Therefore, that system has group delay response that exhibits a minor sinusoidal variation superimposed on a constant value. In the signal processing, this oscillation seriously degrade the signal quality. Unfortunately, that system has a large sample delay of 4L and also more computational complexity. Proposed system is present a reduced computational complexity technique by moved the numerator polynomial of H(1/z) out to cascade with causal filter H(z) and remain only all-pole of H(1/z), then applied truncated infinite impulse response to finite with truncated IIR filtel $H_L$(z) and L sample delay to subtract the output sequence from the top and bottom filter. Proposed system is linear time invariance and group delay response and total harmonic distortion are also improved.

  • When it calculates the optimum price of filter coefficient, the many operation quantity is necessary. Is like that the real-time control is difficult and the hardware embodiment expense is big. The case which does not know advance information of input signal or the case where the statistical nature changes with change of surroundings environment is necessary the adaptive filter. Every hour to change a coefficient automatically and system in order to reach to the condition of optimum oneself, the fact that is the adaptive filter. When it does not the quality of input signal or it does not know the environment of surroundings every hour changing, it does not emit not to be, in order to collect, the fact that is the adaptive filter. The case of the Acoustic Echo Canceler does thousands filter coefficients in necessity. It reduces a many calculation quantity to respect, it uses the IIR filter from hour territory. Also it uses the block adaptive filter which has a block input signal and a block output signal. The former there is a weak point where the stability discrimination is always demanded. Consequently, The block adaptive filter is researched plentifully. This dissertation planned the block MADF adaptive filter used to MADf algorithm.

  • This paper describes design and implementation of the 5.5 GHz VCO with parallel-branch inductors using 0.8${\mu}m$ SiGe HBT process technology. The proposed parallel-branch inductor shows $12 \%$ improvement in quality factor in comparison with the conventional inductor. A phase noise of -93 dBc/Hz is measured at 100 kHz offset frequency, and the harmonics in the VCO are suppressed less than -23 dBc. The single-sided output power of the VCO is -6.5$\pm$1.5 dBm. The manufactured VCO consumes 15.0 mA with 2.5 V supply voltage. Its chip areas are 1.8mm ${\times}$ 1.2mm.

  • In this paper, 50MHz reflection ultrasonic microscope system with small aperture acoustic lens has been constructed in order to study the defects which lay deep in thick specimens, and acoustic images of multilayered media have been analyzed. Output characteristics of this system for multilayered media have been influenced by acoustic attenuation, aberration in specimen, type of lens and the properties of a defect, and it has been used for image processing of the multilayered I.C. and the bonding layer. In experimental results, it has been shown that small aperture ultrasonic microscope system was powerful tool for inspection of thick specimens such as electronic device, bonding layer, quality of ceramic materials.
