Seamless Routing and Cooperative Localization of Multiple Mobile Robots for Search and Rescue Application

  • In particular, for a practical mobile robot team to perform such a task as that of carrying out a search and rescue mission in a disaster area, the network connectivity and localization have to be guaranteed even in an environment where the network infrastructure is destroyed or a Global Positioning System is unavailable. This paper proposes the new collective intelligence network management architecture of multiple mobile robots supporting seamless network connectivity and cooperative localization. The proposed architecture includes a resource manager that makes the robots move around and not disconnect from the network link by considering the strength of the network signal and link quality. The location manager in the architecture supports localizing robots seamlessly by finding the relative locations of the robots as they move from a global outdoor environment to a local indoor position. The proposed schemes assuring network connectivity and localization were validated through numerical simulations and applied to a search and rescue robot team.

  • Recently, owing to performance elevation of telecommunication technology, increase of wireless internet's subscriber and diffusion of wireless device, Interest about LBS (Location Based Service) which take advantage of user's location information and can receive information in concerning with user's location is increasing rapidly. So, MOMS (Moving Object Management System) that manage user's location information is required compulsorily to provide location base service. LBS of childhood such as service to find a friend need only current location, but to provide high-quality service in connection with Data Mining, CRM, We must be able to manage location information of past. In this paper, we design distributed manage system to insert and search Moving Object in a large amount. It has been consisted of CLIM (Current Location Information Manager), PLIM (Past-Location Information Manager) and BLIM (Distributed Location Information Manager). CLIM and PLIM prove performance of searching data by using spatiotemporal-index. DLIM distribute an enormous amount of location data to various database. Thus it keeps load-balance, regulates overload and manage a huge number of location information efficiently.

  • The internet will should require the QoS(quality of service) guarantees that the real-time traffic like as audio and video data will be operated well in the future. We had designed Q-MOTP which transfer multimedia object data and proved excellent performance. This paper describes an adaptive QoS management architecture and mechanism based on the information of system resources. Resource manager reports the system resource information periodically or when resources are in the overload state, or on demand by the QoS manager. By using this information, the QoS manager can predict QoS degradation and perform CAC.

  • This study investigated the management environment of medium and small business by examining the role of medium and small business in national economics, the change in management condition, and the problems in Qualify and technique. Also we analyzed problems in the past quality control activity of our medium and small business, and examined the driving direction and introduction method of QM. And to understand the effect of manager's concern in quality management to observe the quality system before and after introduction of QM. A target for this investigation is the medium and small business which has introduced QM through ISO 9000.

  • Purpose - The movie market has the characteristics of being a perfectly competitive market as well as a pure monopolistic market at the same time. This is because there are competitors in the industry but prices, although not fixed, have not changed a lot. Price competition may not have spread, but the competition is focused on artistic value, and the degree of box office success is most important. The artistic value is determined in the course of the production process. However, the degree of box office success is dependent upon the marketing manager. The marketing strategy represents the difference in the standard or quality of the movie. Inherently, the marketing manager adopts the entertainment strategy based on the quality of the foundation of the completed movie. At this time, the marketing manager knows the pertinent information (high quality/low quality) regarding the movie. This research study tries to reveal what should be the reasonable movie marketing expense, dependent on the quality of the movie. Research design, data, and methodology - Using a game scenario with different market players, the goal of the research analysis is to find out the following. First, the marketing expense is determined to maximize the profits after film production. Second, after the production costs are already committed, the manufacturer gets to choose the marketing level. At this time, there will be a profit maximization point, considering the competition. The premise of the research is as follows: if it is a good movie of quality, positive word of mouth increasing the audience continuously slows down the speed of the demand curve. If the movie quality is bad, the negative word of mouth decreasing the audience gradually hastens the speed of the demand curve. On the marketing side, when the manufacturer invests heavily in the marketing expense of the movie, consumer expectations increase to drive up the audience numbers. On the other hand, it is difficult to improve the profits excessively. When the manufacturer invests in marketing a little bit, the marketing expense is only relatively committed, therefore a lot of demand cannot be gained. Results - If a fixed market share is in a competitive situation, a low quality manufacturer expends relatively more marketing expense. If the situation assumes two manufacturers spend the same for the cost of production, the high quality manufacturer takes more profit. If the manufacturer expends less marketing budget to save costs, the optimum profit cannot be achieved since the other party (opponent) grabs the initial market share. Conclusions - In conclusion, investment is essential for market share to increase. We must refrain from a zero-sum game and have models where the game participants pursue the creative profits together. In the current film industry, there is the dominating logic of winner and loser but we have to create a film industry environment where the participants can be altogether satisfied and live together.

  • this study, the problem of the quality is analyzed by questionnaire analysis of the current quality managers, and the German meister system, the Japanese name deduction system, the functional manager, and the quality manager system. First, we set up a quality guide selection classification guide model. Secondly, we set up a model for combining experience and expertise with theory. Third, we set up a quality brand application model to enhance competitiveness of SMEs. Fourth, The basic model is presented. The expected effects of these models are that, in the knowledge-based economy, in terms of identifying, fostering, and utilizing superior talents, quality experts combine academic theories and experience in each field to provide core expertise and knowledge, As a transformative leader and expert, we will become a leader of innovation activities by enhancing corporate competitiveness, developing younger leaders, and cooperating with suppliers. In order to strengthen competitiveness of SMEs, It will be possible to scale and cultivate the technology of SMEs.

The Development of a Quality Measurement Tool for a Contract-Managed Hospital Foodservice (병원 위탁급식 품질관리를 위한 품질평가도구 개발)

  • The purposes of this study were: a) to develop the a quality measurement tool for the contract-managed hospital foodservice, and b) to evaluate their performance with the developed quality measurement tool, and c) to verify the reliability and validity of the quality measurement tool. The developed quality measurement tool comprised two parts, which were foodservice management and medical nutrition care service. The foodservice management part was classified into six functional categories which were Menu, Procurement and Storage, Production and Distribution, Facility and Utility, Sanitation and Safety, and Management and Evaluation. The medical nutrition care service part indicated the medical nutrition care provided. Quality measurement tool had 91 standards and 324 indicators. The quality measurement tools were distributed to the hospital foodservice manager employed by the foodservice company. The 324 indicators were measured by foodservice manager on the 5-Likert-type scales, and then adapted to a 100 point scale. The SPSS Ver. 11.0 was used for statistical analysis. The categories whose scores were evaluated as being high were Procurement', General Sanitation', Personal sanitation' and Waste' and the categories whose scores were evaluated as being low were Diet Order Manual', Standard Recipe', Appropriateness (Facility and Utility)', Check (Facility and Utility)'and Information Management'. All the categories of medical nutrition service were evaluated as having seriously low scores. Therefore, it was necessary for the contract-managed hospital foodservice to improve its performance in the area of medical nutrition care service. For the verification of the developed quality measurement tool, the reliability obtained by calculating Cronbach's α was 0.8747, and the content validity was also proved by scrutiny of the modification of the Professional group's techniques.   • This study intend to make easy modification, even if there is a new job or structure change, by modularizing program and computerize and automation of production control management used in CIM. under the condition where manager control production on the job-site, for increasing connection with other operation and management on the computer by monitoring center computer, recognizing information by computer is needed, it is possible by converting transaction. So this study goal is to make delivery control and order control fast and accurate by finding dynamic history of machine and production information in enterprise without input production and quality information by themselves with quality information system. So production increase and quality improvement are possible by diminishing manager's and producer's work with the result of the study combining POP and CIM, after that, in e-business and m-business period that every enterprise must pass, customer satisfaction and sales promotion are possible with employee's computerizing minds. these study result also can knowledge process condition with theoretical class and have a power in finding a solution with foundation of theoretical knowledge.

Deployment of Appropriate Architectural Construction Engineers to Solve Quality and Safety Problems at Construction Sites (건설현장의 품질·안전문제 해결을 위한 적정 건축시공기술자의 배치 관련 연구)

  • Recently, quality problems, such as the collapse of apartment structures under construction, has emerged as a social issue. Although there are various causes of quality problem and the impact of each problem may be different, the problems from the perspective of construction engineer of construction company are investigated. Therefore, this study aim to investigate the adequacy of construction engineer's experience, number of field engineer, timing of engineer deployment at construction sites, etc. in order to resolve quality and safety problems. In this study, a questionnaire survey was conducted targeting construction managers to obtain objective opinions. The results showed that the number of construction engineers in construction companies should be increased and that intermediate construction engineers should be increased to enable practical site management for resolving quality and safety problems. In addition, it was found that there was a need to reduce the number of non-regular employed field construction engineers in construction site and at the same time systematically regulate the number of on-site construction engineers, similar to safety managers and quality managers.

Managerial Overconfidence and Stock Price Delay (경영자과신성향이 주가지체에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose - This study deals with the manager's overconfidence and stock price delay, and verified whether the stock price delay phenomenon changes as the overconfidence increases. Design/methodology/approach - Manager overconfidence means that managers have over confidence in their positions or abilities, and was measured according to Schrand and Zechman (2012). Stock price delay is a phenomenon in which information of company is not immediately reflected in the stock price, but is reflected over time, and was measured by the method suggested in a study by Hou and Moskowitz (2005). The analysis subjects used in this study are companies listed on the KOSPI market between 2011 and 2019, and the final sample is 5,509 company-years. Findings - As a result of the verification, it was shown that the stock price delay decreased as the manager's overconfidence increased, and this effect was amplified as the foreign shareholder's share ratio increased and the number of follow-up financial analysts increased. This means that as the manager's overconfidence increases, he actively provides high-quality information to the capital market. In addition, as a result of subdividing the manager's overconfidence into the investment and capital raising aspects, the capital raising aspect has a significant effect on reducing stock delays. This can be interpreted as the fact that managers with overconfident tendencies have a greater incentive to satisfy investors' information needs. Research implications or Originality - In previous studies, the characteristics of managers with strong overconfidence have both positive and negative aspects. The results of this study are significant in that they clearly demonstrated the positive aspect through the market variable of stock price delay, and it is expected to help capital market stakeholders understand the characteristics of managers with a strong propensity for overconfidence.
