종합병원 근무자의 근로생활의 질과 조직유효성과의 관련성 (Relationship between Quality of Working Life and Organizational Effectiveness of Employees at the General Hospital)

  • Objectives: Quality of Working Life(QWL) is a set of employee's physical, mental conditions which are perceived at their work. Most employees and managers are concerned about the quality of working life as a strategy for improving organizational effectiveness. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between QWL and organizational effectiveness of employees at the general hospital. Methods : Data were collected by self-administered questionnaires at the general hospital in Kyunggi-Do. Survey was conducted to 675 workers. QWL was measured by using 5 items from the scale developed by Walton(1973). Organizational effectiveness was measured by measuring organizational commitment, intention of job-shift, and job satisfaction. Results: The recognitions to each component of QWL were significantly different by socio-demographic characteristics such as sex, age, education levels and working duration. Also, QWL were significantly different by types of organizational culture. Multiple regression analysis and multiple logistic regression analysis were applied to find the relationship of QWL and organizational effectiveness. As a result, job-pride, compensation, working condition, human relationship and development showed significant relationship with organizational effectiveness. Conclusions: These results show that QWL is significantly related to organizational effectiveness. So we expect that this result will be used as basic informations for management and motivation of employees at the general hospital.

선박의 QWL(근염생활의 질)에 관한 실증연구 (An Empirical Study on the Quality of Working Life in Merchant Ships)

  • A major change occuring in the workplace is the willingness of union leaders, managers, and workers to experiment with various work schedules and to work toward the improvement in the QWL(quality of work life). In this study, the writer measures the level of QWL, embodies components of QWL, testifies the difference of QWL according to the demographical traits, and develops some scales to measure QWL in merchant ships. To achieve objectives of the paper, 11 hypotheses were established and a questionnaire was used, 894 proper data was obtained from 2, 910 Korean seamen working in merchant ships. Results of analyses are as follows : 1) The components of QWL in merchant ships are job, employee satisfaction, wage, welfare, working condition, supervise, colleague relations, initiative, and organization management. 2) Seamen of merchant ships are satisfied with job, supervise, colleague relations, and organization management. They are dissatisfied employee satisfaction, wage, welfare, and working condition. 3) According to demographical traits, the number of the factors significant difference(P<0.05) among components of QWL are 9 for type of ships, 8 ages of seamen, 7 for married or single, nationality of ships, and education level respectively, 5 for seamen career, for 4 rank on board and trading route of ships respectively, 2 for whether union or not and whether union involvement or not respectively, and 1 for department on board. 4) Results which tested hypotheses are as follows : For the components of QWL, married men are more satisfactory than an unmarried men, officers are more dissatisfactory than ratings, old men are more satisfactory than young men, men in high education level are more dissatisfactory than men in low education level, those who are much careers as a seaman are more satisfactory than those who are little careers as a seaman. There are significant differences in the components of QWL according to nationality and type of ships. There are insignificant differences in the components of QWL according to the shipboard department, whether union is or not, whether union involvement is or not, and trading route of ships.

직장에 복귀한 암 생존자의 직장 생활의 질에 영향을 미치는 요인 (Factors Influencing Quality of Working Life of Cancer Survivors after Return to the Workplace)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing the quality of working life of cancer survivors (QWL-CS) after return to the workplace. Methods: Data were collected from 154 cancer survivors from May 16 to June 23, 2018. Participants were selected as candidates from two different hospitals in the metropolitan area and snowball sampling was used in parallel. The data were analyzed by SPSS 21.0 using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple linear regression. Results: Mean score of QWL-CS was $4.39{\pm}0.59$. QWL-CS was negatively correlated with fatigue, and job stress: however, it was positively correlated with workplace spirituality. The factor that had the greatest influence on the QWL-CS was job stress (${\beta}=-.36$, p<.001), followed by fatigue (${\beta}=-.35$, p<.001), workplace spirituality (${\beta}=.35$, p<.001), number of currently cancer treatment (${\beta}=-.15$, p=.009), and number of children (${\beta}=.12$, p=.031). The explanatory power of models was 54%. Conclusion: Effective and practical intervention programs for increasing the quality of working life are required to be provided to cancer survivors after return to the workplace in accordance with job stress, fatigue, workplace spirituality, and general characteristics of cancer survivors such as number of currently cancer treatments and number of children.

병원 아웃소싱 근로자의 QWL과 이직의도에 관한 분석 - 이중몰입의 조절효과를 중심으로 - (The Study on the Influence of Hospital's Outsourcing Worker's QWL to the Turnover Intention)

  • [purpose] This study was conducted to identify how a hospital's outsourcing workers' QWL influences Turnover Intention and to determine Dual Commitment cause any discrepancies in regards to the link between QWL and Turnover Intention. [Methodology/Approach] The study is based on 254 survey sheets answered by outsourcing employees working at general hospitals with more than 300 beds in Seoul and the methods of analysis used are as follows: reliability analysis, correlation analysis, multiple regression analysis, and hierarchical regressions analysis. [Findings] The study results First, analyzing how different types of QWL (individual, organizational, managemental) influence Turnover Intention, R2 turned out to be 30.7% and organizational factors and managemental factors show a statistically significant difference. In addition, organizational and managemental factors have negative effects on Turnover Intention while that of organization factors has a bigger influence. Second, verifying regulation effects of Dual Commitment in regards to the link between QWL and Turnover Intention, it is learned that Dual Commitment (hiring firm) has no regulation effects on the link. However, it does have a regulation effect on the link between QWL (managemental) and Turnover Intention. Moreover, after verifying regulation effects of Dual Commitment (client's firm), it is learned that it has regulation effect on the link between QWL (organizational and managemental) and Trunover Intention. [Practical Implications] In conclusion, lower Turnover Intention, it is necessary to impose tasks that suit the employees' competence and to encourage efficiency throughout clear communications and accurate directions.

치과위생사의 근로생활의 질(QWL)에 관한 연구 (A study of quality of working life to dental hygienist's)

  • Objectives : Dental hygienist's work satisfaction and stress affect the overall quality of work life(QWL). Therefore, this research is intended to suggest fundamental data to improve QWL by finding out characteristics of each work satisfaction and stress element. To this end, a total of 327 dental hygienists working at general hospitals, university hospitals, dental hospitals and dental clinics across Seoul, Gyeonggi and Incheon were surveyed. Results of survey are as follows. Methods : The collected data were analyzed by using an SPSS 12.0 statistical program, obtaining the following results. The collected data conducted a questionnaire survey for 327 dental hygienists who work at the hospitals, university hospitals, dental hospitals, and dental clinics located at Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, and Incheon district from January until March, 2009, and drew the conclusions as follows. Result : 1. Demographic characteristics, income from 1.5 to 1.99 million were the whole lot, more than 2 million to less than 1.5 million was similar. Marital status Married Unmarried higher than the atheist religion, Christianity, Catholicism, Buddhism, and other, respectively. Classification by level of education in the college graduate, university graduate, graduate diploma, respectively. 2. Are working in a job-related characteristics of dentistry, dental hospital, general and university hospital, respectively. The making in position, Mount, contractor, responsible, senior, was an intern in the order. The five-day workweek whether working at night and is not going to care whether the conduct was similar. Classification of working hours and 8 hours, 8 hours, 8 hours or less orderly, and total of less than 1-3 years of clinical experience, 5 years, less than one year, less than 3-5 years, respectively. 3. There comes out a significant difference according to age, income, position, gross clinical experience, and whether to put night shift into practice in job stability in terms of the quality subsequent to general characteristics(p<.05). 4. There comes out a significant difference according to marital status, one's place of work, position, whether to put a five-day workweek into practice in work environment and benefits package in terms of the quality subsequent to general characteristics (p<.05). 5. There comes out a significant difference according to age, marital status, income, position, and gross clinical experience in education & training and benefits packages in terms of the quality subsequent to general characteristics(p<.05). 6. There comes out a significant difference according to whether to put night medical treatment into practice in social usefulness in terms of the quality subsequent to general characteristics(p<.05). 7. There comes out a significant difference according to marital status, income, one's place of work, gross clinical experience, work hours, and whether to put a five-day workweek into practice in leisure activity in terms of the quality subsequent to general characteristics(p<.05). 8. There comes out a significant difference according to income, one's place of work, and position in wage level in terms of the quality subsequent to general characteristics(p<.05). 9. There was no significant difference in all items related to human relations and free communication in terms of the quality subsequent to general characteristics(p>.05). Conclusions : It is necessary to analyze factors related to work satisfaction and stress in order to improve dental hygienist's quality of work life. Hospitals must support them systematically and institutionally and related organizations must conduct practical research.

Y세대 조리사의 근로생활의 질(QWL), 심리적 조직몰입 및 이직의도에 관한 연구 (A Research about Quality of Work-Life, Affective Organizational Commitment and Turnover Intention of Y Generational Chef)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 국내 Y세대 조리사를 대상으로 근로생활의 질, 심리적 조직몰입 및 이직의도의 인과적 영향 관계를 규명하는 것이다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 국내 호텔, 개인외식업체 및 프랜차이즈 외식업체에 근무하는 조리사 207명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 획득된 자료를 분석하기 위해서는 SPSS 18.0을 이용하여 빈도분석, 탐색적 요인분석, 신뢰도 분석, 회귀분석 및 PROCESS Macro 분석을 실행하였다. 분석 결과, 본 연구에서 근로생활의 질은 개인적 품질과 사회적 품질의 2개 요인으로 구성되었다. 근로생활의 질을 구성하는 1개의 요인은 모두 심리적 조직몰입에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 확인되었다. 그러나 근로생활의 질과 이직의도의 관계에서는 개인적 품질만이 이직의도를 저하시키는 것에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 사회적 품질과 이직의도의 관계는 유의하지 않은 것으로 확인되었다. 심리적 조직몰입은 이직 의도에 부(-)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 심리적 조직몰입은 근로생활의 질(개인적 품질, 사회적 품질)과 이직의도의 관계에서 매개 작용이 유의한 것으로 확인되었다. 이러한 결과에 따른 시사점이 연구의 결론부분에 논의되었다.

부산권 치과위생사의 정서적 조직몰입 영향 요인 분석 -근로생활의 질을 중심으로- (Analysis of Impact Factors of Affective Commitment in Organization of Dental Hygienist in Susan Area -Focused on Quality of Working Life(QWL)-)

  • 이 연구는 치과위생사의 정서적 조직몰입에 영향을 미치는 근로생활의 질 요인을 분석함으로써 이들의 근로생활의 질 향상과 더불어 조직에의 애착과 몰입을 추구하고 근로생활의 보람과 궁극적인 삶의 만족도를 높이는 방안을 찾고 치과경영에서의 인적관리의 방향성을 제시하고자 하였다. 조사대상은 부산 경남 지역에 위치한 치과 의료기관에 근무하는 치과위생사를 대상으로 설문조사 하였고 197부의 설문지를 연구에 이용하였다. 연구결과 근로생활의 질과 정서적 몰입의 구성요소 간 요인별로 높은 상관관계를 보였고, 정서적 조직몰입에 영향을 미치는 근로생활의 질 요인 분석 결과 근무환경, 인간관계, 사회적 유익성이 정서적 조직몰입에 유의한 영향을 미쳤다. 이에 치과 의료기관은 인적 경영관리 차원에서 근무환경 및 복리후생 개선과, 직원 간 원활한 인간관계를 형성할 수 있도록 하며, 정기적 사회봉사나 지역주민을 위한 서비스 제공으로 자긍심과 애사심을 고취시키고, 치과위 생사들은 보다 긍정 적 인 생각으로 근무기관과 자기발전을 위해 끊임 없는 노력으로 업무능력 향상과 직업적 가치를 높이는 것이 중요하다고 생각된다.

  • The domestic food service industry has established its industrial basis since the overseas brands were introduced and international events were held in Korea. It also has showed a prominent growth rate as consumers began to show more interests in leisure and quality of working life(QWL) At this, the employees, constituting Points of contacts with consumers of the food service industry, have emerged as a Primarily critical concern in order for the food service industry, which can affect people in various ways, to adopt our own food culture and develop its business quality. In the food service industry, as a relatively labour-intensive industry, the manpower service is considered very important. Whether the industry succeeds or not depends on the role of employees as the quality of service of employees can decide the quality of the industry itself. In spite of the importance of employees in the food service industry, not many researches have been Performed on the personnel management of the industry, as Koreans traditionally have hold a prejudiced view on the food service industry and it is only a short time since the food business began to be considered as an industry. This thesis aims at research on the factors affecting job satisfaction of the employees by dealing with the importance and characteristics of the role of employees of the food service industry and theoretical background of the job satisfaction. The presumable factors affecting the job satisfaction are divided into several groups ; characteristics of organization, working condition, human relationship, psychological factors, and its reputation in the labour market. Hypotheses and models, where those factors affect the employees, are formed. Statistical methods such as correlation analysis and multiple regression are used in order to verify those hypotheses. Alternatives to improve job satisfaction of employees are suggested based on the analysis. It is expected that there will be more active researches on employees of the food service industry, as this thesis has selected employees of the food service industry as its subjects while subjects of similar researches have been mainly hotel employees so far.
