The purpose of this study was to research the relationships among psychological capital, job attitude, and service climate of employees in hotel corporations. Psychological capital has been demonstrated to be important for performance at both individual and group levels of analyses. In addition psychological capital has been shown to provide additive value to more established measures of employee's positive job attitudes. To accomplish this study, it was determined that the analysis derived from a hypothesis and literature reviews and data collected from 295 employees in hotel corporations. The results of empirical analysis showed as follows. First, Psychological capital has a significant effect on job satisfaction. Second, Psychological capital has a significant effect on organizational commitment. Third, Service climate was also found to have moderating effect upon the relationship between psychological capital and job satisfaction. Based on these findings, the implications and limitations of the study were presented including some directions for future studies.
The purpose of this study is to examine how midlife working women's psychological well-being is associated with their reward/cost of family role and work role according to their kinds of job. For empirical research, 627 married working women living in Seoul, aged between 40-55 answered the structured questionnaire. The subjects consisted of 301 professional working women and 326 non-professional working women. The data were analysed by the frequencies, mean, oneway ANOVA, and multiple regression. The major findings were as follows 1) Two sub areas of midlife working women's psychological well-being-self esteem and life satisfaction-were higher than an average level. 2) The more midlife working women performed family role and work role, they perceived reward more than cost. 3) For the professional working women, the more they perceived the reward of family role and work role, the higher their psychological well-being was. The more they perceived the cost of family role and work role, the lower their psychological well-being was. These consequencies applied to not only general reward/cost of family role and work role but also interrole reward/cost between family role and work role. For the non-professional working women, general and interrole reward of family role and work role had the positive effects on psychological well-being. Their general cost of spouse role, general and interrole cost of mother role, general cost of work role had the negative erects on psychological well-being. However interrole cost between spouse role and work role did not have a significant effect on psychological well-being. Finally, the result of multiple regression analysis showed that general reward of work role had the largest positive effect on midwife working women's self-esteem. General reward/cost of spouse role had the largest effect on their life satisfaction.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine whether psychological distress is an independent risk factor for recurrent cardiac events in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). Methods: A prospective cohort of studies that measured psychological distress and the incidence of recurrent cardiac events in the adult population were included. Three computerized databases were assessed (PubMed, CINAHL, and PSYCINFO). Meta-analysis was conducted using a random-effects model to determine summary estimates of risks of major recurrent cardiac events associated with each psychological distress. Of 506 publications identified, 33 met inclusion criteria, and 24 studies were used to estimate effect size of psychological distress on recurrent cardiac events. Results: Mean number in the research sample was 736 and mean time of follow-up was 4.0 years. Depression, anxiety, anger, and hostility as psychological factors were studied. According to estimation of effect size using random model effect, depression (OR=1.39, 95% CI: 1.22-1.57), anxiety (OR=1.22, 95% CI: 0.96-1.56), and anger/hostility (OR=1.29, 95% CI: 1.07-1.57) CAD patients in significantly increased risk for recurrent cardiac events. Conclusion: Finding suggests that psychological distress in forms of depression, anxiety, anger, and hostility impact unfavorably on recurrent cardiac events in CAD patients.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to test the mediating effect of psychological distress in the relationship between chemotherapy related cognitive impairment (CRCI) and quality of life (QOL) in people with cancer. Methods: A purposive sample of 130 patients undergoing chemotherapy was recruited for the cross-sectional survey design. Data were collected from November 2014 to June 2015. The instruments were K-MMSE (Korean Mini-Mental State Examination), Everyday Cognition (ECog), Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale (HADS), and Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-General (FACT-G). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation, and multiple regression using Baron and Kenny steps for mediation. Results: The mean score for objective cognitive function was 27.95 and 69.32 for perceived cognitive decline. Overall quality of life was 91.74. The mean score was 17.52 for psychological distress. The prevalence was 56.2% for anxiety and 63.1% for depression, and 20.0% for CRCI. There were significant correlations among the variables, objective cognitive function and self-reported cognitive decline, psychological distress, and quality of life. Psychological distress was directly affected by CRCI. ($R^2=29%$). QOL was directly affected by CRCI. Psychological distress and CRCI effected QOL ($R^2=43%$). Psychological distress had a partial mediating effect (${\beta}=-.56$, p <.001) in the relationship between self-reported cognitive decline and quality of life (Sobel test: Z= -5.08, p <.001). Conclusion: Based on the findings of this study, nursing intervention programs focusing on managing cognitive decline, and decreasing psychological distress are highly recommended to improve quality of life in cancer patients.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the related factors for psychological crises in Korean middle aged adults. Methods: RISS, KISS, National Assembly Digital Library, CINAHL, and PubMed were searched for relevant articles published until October 3, 2016. Finally, a total of 23 studies were included. Meta-analysis of the studies was conducted using Comprehensive Meta-Analysis 3.0 software to calculate the effect size. Results: The related variables of psychological crisis were categorized into 23 variables and 5 factor groups. The effects size (ES) of the overall defensive variables was -0.28. In the defensive factors, the psychological factor (ES=-0.67), followed by cognitive and behavioral factor (ES=-0.34), physical factor (ES=-0.31), and social relational factor (ES=-0.29) had the greatest effect on psychological crises. The effects size of the overall risk variables was 0.48. In the risk factors, the physical factor (ES=0.61) had the greatest effect on psychological crises, followed by the psychological factor (ES=0.53), and cognitive and behavioral factor (ES=0.10). Conclusion: An intervention program is needed to strengthen the defensive factors and reduce the risk factors for psychological crises of Korean middle aged adults.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of anxious attachment on psychological violence victimization and the role of relationship addiction on the relationship between anxious attachment and psychological violence victimization. To do this, 201 adults between 20~30 years old who live in G city and J area were administered anxious attachment, relationship addiction, and psychological violence victimization scale. Data analysis was performed using SPSS 22.0 for correlational analysis to examine the relationship between variables, and the structural equation for mediating effect validation was performed using AMOS 22.0. As a result, there were positive correlations among anxious attachment, relationship addiction and psychological violence victimization. Also, the effects of relationship addiction on the relationship showed full mediation effect. This suggests that anxious attachment may lead to psychological violence victimization through relationship addiction. Through this study, a counseling intervention method which is helpful to clients who have psychological violence victimization is presented. Based on the study, findings and implications are discussed.

From the consumer's perspective, eco-friendly consumption is still a topic that can cause various psychological discomforts, and psychological discomfort can lower the intention to consume eco-friendly products through negative consumer psychological mechanisms. This study analyzed the influence of psychological discomfort regarding eco-friendly consumption on people's willingness to pay additional prices for eco-friendly products. In addition, we examined the moderating effect of consumers' involvement in the product family in this relationship. As a result of a statistical analysis based on consumer response data obtained from an online survey conducted with 407 American consumers, the level of people's psychological discomfort with eco-friendly consumption is directly related to their willingness to pay additional prices for eco-friendly products. Although it did not have a significant effect, it was confirmed that the influence of psychological discomfort on willingness to pay premium price was significantly different depending on the consumer's level of involvement.
Objectives: Banhahoobak-tang has been used to treat plum-pit qi, chest and hypochondriac distension, moist or greasy tongue coat, and wiry slow or wiry slippery pulse. It might be used to control coughing and vomiting. We observed that Banhahoobak-tang extract (BHTe) had anti-psychological stress effect. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of BHTe on restoring the transcriptional regulation of genes related to psychological stress. Methods: After giving psychological stress to mice, BHTe was orally administered at 100 mg/kg/day for five days. After extracting whole brain tissue from the mice, the gene expression changes were determined by microarray. Transcription factor binding site (TFBS) analysis showed up- and down-regulated genes related to psychological stress were protected by BHTe and segregated according to the structure of TFBS. We performed text based Pubmed search to select significant target genes involved in psychological stress affected by BHTe. Results: 1. Serum corticosterone level was decreased in the BHTe administered group, although the psychological stress was increased. 2. The BHTe administered group had no significant change in noradrenaline content in brain tissue, but the psychological stress group had decreased level. 3. The BHTe administered group had increased time of staying at open-arm than the psychological stress group. 4. Microarray revealed that TANK and RARA genes were up-regulated genes while AES, CDC42, FOS, NCL, and PVR were down-regulated genes by psychological stress but restored by BHTe.

This study aimed to examine the mediating effect of positive psychological capital in the relationship between emotional labor and Professional Quality of Life (ProQOL) of librarians belonging to the Widely Representative Library. From February 13, 2023 to February 24, 2023, 159 librarians working in 17 Widely Representative Libraries nationwide were surveyed for general characteristics, emotional labor, ProQOL, and positive psychological capital through questionnaires. For statistical analysis, frequency analysis, descriptive statistics analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and measurement model analysis were conducted using SPSS Statistics 24.0 and Amos 25.0. In addition, the mediating effect of positive psychological capital in the relationship between emotional labor and ProQOL of librarians in the Widely Representative Library was analyzed using a bootstrapping analysis method. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, it was found that there was a significant effect among librarians' emotional labor, ProQOL, and positive psychological capital in the Widely Representative Library. Second, the indirect effect of positive psychological capital in the relationship between Emotional Labor and ProQOL of Widely Representative Library librarians was found to be statistically significant. In other words, considering the direct effect of emotional labor on ProQOL, it can be inferred that there is a partial mediating effect. Therefore, it is suggested to develop a program that can improve the quality of professional life by reducing emotional labor and strengthening the positive psychological capital of librarians in further studies.
This study aims to identify effects of outplacement support program for discharged soldier to settle and adapt successfully in Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs. The subject of this study are 323 discharged soldiers who completed the outplacement support program. A survey questionnaire is conducted to measure variables of this study. All data analysis is accomplished using the AMOS 7.0 version. The results of this study are as follows. First, learning motivation has direct effect on learning flow and program satisfaction positively. Second, organizational support has direct effect on program satisfaction, psychological stability positively and on learning flow negatively. Third, outplacement support program has direct effect on learning flow, program satisfaction, job-seeking efficacy and psychological stability positively. Fourth, learning flow has direct effect on program satisfaction positively but don't have direct effect on job-seeking efficacy and psychological stability significantly. Fifth, learning motivation, outplacement support program has direct effect on job-seeking efficacy and psychological stability with partial mediation effect of program satisfaction while without mediation effect of learning flow. Based on the results of the study, the following recommendations have been made. First, it is necessary to design the outplacement support program with contents in relation to discharged soldiers' successful settlement because discharged soldiers who completed the outplacement support program showed higher job-seeking efficacy and psychological stability. Second, it is needed to conduct a longitudinal study considering other variables such as employment, establishment success etc.
