Sesame protein concentrate(SPC) was prepared from defatted sesame flour(DSF) at several different pH(2.0, 7.0, 9.0, 11.0) for protein extraction. Some of their functional properties were determined in order to compare the effects of pH during preparation of concentrates. Compared with DSF, nitrogen solubility was markedly improved in all SPC, and SPC extracted at pH 11.0 showed the highest solubility at all pH leaves examined. Fatabsorption was increased in all SPC prepared, but water absorption was decreased as the extraction pH of protein increased. The emulsifying properteis and foaming properties of SPC were remarkably higher than DSF. As the extraction pH of protein was increased, the emulsion activity was also increased, but emulsion stability was decreased. SPC extracted at pH 7.0 showed the highest foaming capacity on the other hand, the highest foaming stability was shown in SPC extracted at pH 2.0. As the protein extraction pH increased, the viscosity of the protein solution was increased. SPC extracted at pH 11.0 showed highest viscosity at all protein concentrations tested.
This study investigated the optimum pH condition for the efficient extraction of protein from Gastrodia elata Blume. Five extraction pH values (8, 9, 10, 11, and 12) and three precipitation pH values (2, 4, and 6) were used. The protein content, browning degree, and recovery yield of the protein obtained under each pH condition were determined. Most of the G. elata Blume was made up of carbohydrates, and its protein content was also high. The amount of the extracted protein increased according to the increase in the extraction pH, but did not significantly differ between pH 8 and pH 9. The browning degree of the protein significantly increased as the extraction pH increased. The greatest amount of protein was precipitated at pH 4, the recovery yield of which was also the highest. As a result, it was found that the combination of extraction pH 9 and precipitation pH 4, which resulted in a 38.7% recovery yield and a low browning degree, is the optimum condition for the efficient extraction of protein from G. elata Blume.
In this paper, we propose a revised Deep Convolutional Neural Network (DCNN) model to extract Protein-Protein Interaction (PPIs) from the scientific literature. The proposed method has the merit of improving performance by applying various global features in addition to the simple lexical features used in conventional relation extraction approaches. In the experiments using AIMed, which is the most famous collection used for PPI extraction, the proposed model shows state-of-the art scores (78.0 F-score) revealing the best performance so far in this domain. Also, the paper shows that, without conducting feature engineering using complicated language processing, convolutional neural networks with embedding can achieve superior PPIE performance.

Aqueous extraction of sea tangle at the temperature range of 60~10$0^{\circ}C$ was studied for temperature effects on soluble solids and protein yields, amino nitrogen, turbidity and viscosity of extracts. The solids and protein yield were increased as the temperature increased and most of solids and protein were extracted during 1 hour. The supernatant ratio after centrifugation showed significantly low for the extraction at 6$0^{\circ}C$. More temperature effects were found on turbidity and viscosity than yields. A significantly higher total amino nitrogen contents was obtained from higher temperature at initial stage of extraction and then the differences of them became to be narrow as the extraction prolonged further. The low values of 24.1% solids and 13.5% protein yields after 2 hours of extraction at 10$0^{\circ}C$ indicated that most of solids in sea tangle are insouble.
To extract insoluble proteins from silkworm pupa meal, the meal was treated with pretense produced by Bacillus sp. JH-209. The extraction of insoluble silkworm pupa protein was enhanced at alkaline pHs ranged from 7 to 11 by treatment with the protease. The optimum extraction temperature was $40^{\circ}C$ for in soluble protein treated with pretense. The optimum protease treatment time for extraction of protein was 11 hrs and optimum amount of enzyme treated for extraction of protein was 60 Unit, respectively. The treatment of enzyme extracted more protein than ordinary extraction method without pretense. The foaming capacity, foaming stability, emulsion capacity, and emulsion stability of silkworm pupa meal protein extracted by the treatment of the enzymes increased at all pH ranges. Further more oil absorption as well as water absorption capacities of the protein extracted by the treatment of the enzymes were also increased.

Alkaline- or salt-assisted extractions have been widely used to extract edible insect proteins, however, there is a need for extraction techniques that balance cost-efficient production as well as preserving the protein properties. Mealworm proteins (Tenebrio molitor larvae) were extracted using three different extraction methods-alkali (AMP), salt (SMP), and water (WMP)-and then physicochemical and techno-functional properties were examined. AMP had high yield, protein, and amino acid contents, whereas WMP had high moisture, ash, and fat contents. SDS-PAGE showed a wide range of molecular weights in WMP whereas mostly low molecular weights were observed in AMP and SMP. AMP had poor protein solubilities compared to SMP and WMP across all pHs. AMP had enhanced water-holding capacity and emulsion stability, whereas WMP had improved oil-holding capacity and foaming properties. WMP formed a gel with and without the transglutaminase. The physicochemical and techno-functional properties demonstrated that water-soluble mealworm protein was superior to alkali-and salt-soluble mealworm proteins. Considering the cost efficiency and minimal impact on the environment as well, a cold press juicer could be utilized for mass production of mealworm protein compared to the conventional methods of protein extraction using alkali and salt.

To extract insoluble proteins from abolished soybean meal, the meal was treatesd with phytase and protease produced by Aspergillus sp. SM-15 and Aspergillus sp. MS-18. The extraction of insoluble soybean protein was increased at alkaline range more than pH 5 in case of phytase, pH 7 to 11 in case of protease and pH 5 to 12 in case of the mixed enzyme of phytase and protease. The optimum extraction temperature of insoluble protein was 5$0^{\circ}C$ for phytase and the mixed enzyme of phytase and protease, and 6$0^{\circ}C$ for protease. The optimum treatment time for extraction of protein was 9 hrs for phytase, 11 hrs for protease and the mixed enzyme of phytase and protease and optimum unit of enzyme for extraction of protein was 600 unit, 40 unit and 900 unit+60 unit in case of phytase, protease, phytase and protease, respectively. The treatment of mixed enzyme showed higher extracton rate of protein than single enzyme treatment. The foaming capacity, foaming stability, emulsion capacity, and emulsion stability of soybean meal protein by the treatment of the enzymes increased at all pH range. Further more oil absorption as well as water absorption capacities by the treatment of the enzymes were also increased. The functional properteis of the soybean meal protein treated by the mixed enzyme were higher than those of soybean meal protein treated by the single enzyme.
Lipids and protein were extracted simultaneously from soybean flour by aqeous processing. Extraction yields of lipids and protein were 62 and 68%, respectively, when 120-150 mesh full-fat soybean flour was dispersed in six times of water (w/w) at $40^{\circ}C$ and pH 8. Supplementary treatment for the higher extraction yields such as proteolytic enzymes treatment improved extraction yields of lipids and protein up to 86 and 89%, respectively. Ultrasonification also improved extraction yields of lipids and protein up to 90%. Red and yellow colors of aqeous-extracted soybean oil were slightly darker than those of hexane-extracted oil, but were much lighter in colors than those of Folch-extracted oil.
The extraction and separation methods of protein-bound polysaccharides from the mycelium and culture broth of L. edodes were investigated. The use 2% solution of surface active agent, Triton X-100 was effective for extraction of the protein-bound polysaccharide from the mycelium. The extraction of the protein-bound polysaccharides from mycelium with hot water was achieved by 4 hours extraction at 10$0^{\circ}C$. For the separation and partial purification of the protein bound polysaccharides the column chromatography using DEAE-Cellulose, DEAE-Sephadex and Sephadex proved to be effective.

Protein-protein interaction (PPI) extraction from original text is important for revealing the molecular mechanism of biological processes. With the rapid growth of biomedical literature, manually extracting PPI has become more time-consuming and laborious. Therefore, the automatic PPI extraction from the raw literature through natural language processing technology has attracted the attention of the majority of researchers. We propose a PPI extraction model based on the large pre-trained language model and adversarial training. It enhances the learning of semantic and syntactic features using BioBERT pre-trained weights, which are built on large-scale domain corpora, and adversarial perturbations are applied to the embedding layer to improve the robustness of the model. Experimental results showed that the proposed model achieved the highest F1 scores (83.93% and 90.31%) on two corpora with large sample sizes, namely, AIMed and BioInfer, respectively, compared with the previous method. It also achieved comparable performance on three corpora with small sample sizes, namely, HPRD50, IEPA, and LLL.
