  • The imperative for real-time automatic construction progress monitoring (ACPM) to avert project delays is widely acknowledged in construction project management. Current ACPM methodologies, however, face a challenge as they rely on collecting data from construction sites and processing it offline for progress analysis. This delayed approach poses a risk of late identification of critical construction issues, potentially leading to rework and subsequent project delays. This research introduces a real-time construction progress monitoring framework that integrates cutting-edge semantic Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) techniques. The innovation lies in the framework's ability to promptly identify structural components during site inspections conducted through a robotic system. Incorporating deep learning models, specifically those employing semantic segmentation, enables the system to swiftly acquire and process real-time data, identifying specific structural components and their respective locations. Furthermore, by seamlessly integrating with Building Information Modeling (BIM), the system can effectively evaluate and compare the progress status of each structural component. This holistic approach offers an efficient and practical real-time progress monitoring solution for construction projects, ensuring timely issue identification and mitigating the risk of project delays.

  • All sorts of technique for schedule progress management is being developed recently. These can change and develop the abstractive concept model to a detailed model that describes the visual 3D image about a schedule plan. but, this technique is troublesome, because this requires the handwork by means of connection between 3D-CAD and scheduling Program. In this study, the process of real-time schedule progress control system using the integrated database by 3D-CAD object information system and schedule module is presented. This study present the process of a schedule progress management using IDEF0 model, and the process of real-time schedule progress management using RFID system. Through this study, we want to realize the rapid generation of estimated schedule information and to simulate and analyze actual schedule information by real-time.

  • Weather factors affect cost increases and progress management under construction. Because progress schedule is delayed by weather factors, the construction costs are increased. It is an essential element to control the progress schedule applying weather factors to the progress management. This study applies monthly working-day percentages which is estimated by databases of past weather information to RTPM system. Through do progress management in construction projects exactly, will try to minimize risk of process control that do that is to weather factors. Also, will compare calamity in safety supervision side that do that is to weather factors beforehand. Based on the factors and the expected impact of factors together with the weather data during the last 50 years in Seoul region gathered from Korea. Through it, calculated number of month working day of RCA's structural steel work. Studied way that apply to RTPM system.

  • The construction market condition is getting worse because of global constructions slow down, low profit, market contraction and so on. For these reason, most construction companies depend on public construction projects which possible to protect construction fee, known as progress payment, by laws. Despite this law, problems of progress payment are constantly occurring and it has been main factors that hinder the construction cost's cash-flow in construction project. To solve this problem, many researchers suggested various solutions but most of solutions were focused on specific target as owner, general contractor, and subcontractor. So, most of solutions were insufficient consider about interaction between contractors. Because of these reasons, it was hard to reflected policy. This research aimed to use system dynamics to develop the model for the application and payment based on the regulations and papers. Also, performed a developed model's verification based on progress payment regulation's basic objectives.

  • Recently construction projects become more bigger. So construction companies have being performed cost and schedule management task by using PMIS. In engineering and construction phase, progress management which occur the most frequent information I/O(input and output) should be managed effectively by PMIS. Although most information by PMIS manage efficiently, cost-schedule information for progress management is difficult to be managed due to recurrent information input. thus when changed by price fluctuation and change order, progress management could not connnect cost information with schedule information. So it caused inaccuracy of progress measurement and data increase in PMIS. To solve this problem, This study suggests improved module for progress management through integration of cost-schedule using quantity take-offs as progress measurement method.

  • The project control system based on the actual values of three objects shall be operated continuously in a timely manner. For collecting/tracking accurate actual performance data, a reasonable basis of measuring work performance and its related measuring methods are needed. Therefore, this research proposes a method of developing and operating the construction progress measurement system. The problem of the conventional method is the difficulty to construct control accounts and to define the basis of measuring the performance of each control account. Therefore, this research proposes the preferable, formal methodology that produces the progress value of the smallest work unit by surveying the installed quantities and estimates percent complete of groups of works or entire project by earned value concept. This research in connection with the hereafter research of the weight value of control accounts will contribute to apply in practice and to develop the scientific construction management technique in the construction industry. Further researches how to trend and forecast the project using the measured progress value are recommended for putting the prosed system of this research to practical use.

  • In the construction phase, the existing schedule management system by 4D CAD has been difficult to check for a status and progress of construction product in real-time because it simulates only VR (virtual reality) object based on a planned schedule. This study suggests a construction schedule management system by telepresence technique that can visualize progress status in real-time by using 4D CAD system based on remote monitoring. The telepresence methodology and system were developed in the study and they were verified for a railway construction project. The developed system can examine the status and progress of construction because it can compare 4D simulation based on planned schedule with real-time site images through web-camera.

  • The specialty of Construction Manager's work is largely depends on the project progress stage and the type of management work. However, at present, career management system manages only the type and duration of the construction project, disregarding specialty and competence. However, in order to select a right construction manager for the client's needs or project characteristics, career management should be subdivided and managed according to the project progress stages or the types of management. In addition, this career management plan is essential for construction managers to receive appropriate wages for their careers and competences. Therefore, this study proposes a classification system for the integration of career, work, and competency to promote effective career management.

  • The insufficient management o( the risk of preconstruction phase causes the risk of construction phase so it makes bad effects such as the extension of construction time and raising of cost. Therefore, the management of the risk of preconstruction phase is being considered as an important element of success of project and the competitive power of construction companies. This study Is to suggest solution methods for each progress after examining reasons of the risk for the management of the risk of preconstruction phase 1'he progress is limited as earth work, RC work, steel work and curtain wall work. Through the introduction of Knowledge Management system, work flow is made by specialist of each part. The reasons of the risk of progress are chosen through the analysis of work flow and I suggest detailed solutions such as person in charge, the starting point of progress and the information of requirements according to the grade of importance about elements of the risk

  • This study represents construction progress management model based on quality inspection process in addition to cost-schedule integration. Quality inspection process cycle, resource estimate as progress measurement parameter, hierarchical structure of schedule, and inspection lots linking quality inspection to resource estimate are addressed as four main information areas. The authors established several process models to give a structure and correlations among information elements on each of these areas. Applying the process models proposed, an information system was implemented and utilized for nuclear power plant construction. It reveals that the system achieves accurate and objective progress information in near real time with significantly reduced time and effort as well as administrative efficiencies from making quality inspection process online.
