  • This paper reports on the development of the analysis program of the valve train system, IV-TAP. It is essential to verify the stability of the design and to improve the performance of the system. In order to do that effi챠ently, it is required that integrated and interactive simulation analysis program. IV-TAP is developed in the base of the object-oriented, capsulation, modulization, OLE(objected linking and embedding) and variational design theory. So it contain the expandability and flexibility of the structure. In additon to that, it is programed to make the convenient user interface by using the visualization programming. It can support the modification of the valve element as well as the development of the valve system in the beginning. It is expected to reduce the money and effort for design the valve train system.

Cycle Simulation for the Performance Prediction of a High Pressure Unit Injection System of a Diesel Engine (디젤엔진용 고압분사 유닛인젝터의 성능예측을 위한 사이클 시뮬레이션)

  • In this study, a cycle simulation program of a Unit-Injection(UI) system was developed to estimate the injection performance of newly designed injection system. A fundamental theory of the simulation program is based on the conservation law of mass. Loss of fuel mass in the system due to leakage, compressibility effect of the liquid fuel and friction loss in the control volume was considered in the algorithm f the program. For the evaluation of the simulation program developed, the experimental result which was offered by the Technical Research Center of Doowon Precision Industry Co. was incorporated. Two main parameters; the maximum pressure in the plunger chamber and total fuel mass(kg) injected into the engine cylinder per cycle, were measured and compared with the simulation results. It was found that the maximum error rate of the simulation result to the experimental output was less than 3% in the rated rotational speed (rpm) range of the plunger cam.

A Study on Papers of Smoking Cessation Program (금연프로그램 효과분석 논문의 현황 및 방향)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze papers of smoking cessation program into method and effect 13 papers that purblished from January, 1980 to Oct., 2001 in the country and 30 papers that purblished from Jan., 1980 to Jun., 1999 in other countries were analized. The result of this study can be summarized as follows 1) The most of subjects were students(46.5%) and residents(30.2%). 2) There were a few of papers based on the Theory(9.3%). 3) Programs included education(58.3%), reward (13.9%) and support(12.5%). 4) There were experimental design(46.5%), non-experimental design(29.5%) and experimental design(25.0%). The most of papers of non-experimental desigs were significant. 5) Behavior(48.7%), knowledge(15.4%) and attitude(12.8%) were evaluated as a effect of program. Knowledge had higher significant rate than other evaluation items. 6) Programs that was from a year to two years had the highest significant rate.

  • Using basic shape and aerodynamic data for the designed impeller, basic structure analysis such as stress analysis and eigenvalue analysis was carried out. Also, we made the optimization program that was designed for optimum thickness within the adaptive stress limits. For the structural optimum theory, we used the BFGS(Broydon Fletcher Goldfarb Shanno) Method which is one of the searching methods. Through this program we managed optimization of the blade. For numerical simulation, we used the optimization program to compose Cyclic Module of NASTRAN and the Optimization Program which was implemented by C and fortran language.

A study on the genetic algorithms for the scheduling of parallel computation (병렬계산의 스케쥴링에 있어서 유전자알고리즘에 관한 연구)

  • For parallel processing, the compiler partitions a loaded program into a set of tasks and makes a schedule for the tasks that will minimize parallel processing time for the loaded program. Building an optimal schedule for a given set of partitioned tasks of a program has known to be NP-complete. In this paper we introduce a GA(Genetic Algorithm)-based scheduling method in which a chromosome consists of two parts of a string which decide the number and order of tasks on each processor. An additional computation is used for feasibility constraint in the chromosome. By granularity theory, a partitioned program is categorized into coarse-grain or fine-grain types. There exist good heuristic algorithms for coarse-grain type partitioning. We suggested another GA adaptive to the coarse-grain type partitioning. The infeasibility of chromosome is overcome by the encoding and operators. The number of processors are decided while the GA find the minimum parallel processing time.

  • The objectives of this study were: a) to determine the motive type of adults' participation in environmental education program, and b) to identify factors related to their motive from the activities, and c) to provide strategies implications to satisfy their motive. For the purpose, literatures related to adults' participation motive type are reviewed. Based on the theoretical finding, the following suggestions could be offered for the environmental education program. 1) Environmental NGOs should offer motive-friendly programs which may help the adults participate in the NGO environmental education and activities. 2) Environmental NGOs should provide diverse education programs to facilitate participation and to formulate eligible management system for the activities. 3) To satisfy the motive of participation, environmental education programs should be organized and conducted through a careful consideration of the motive type of the participation, the characteristics of adults, and so on.

  • The purpose of this study was to survey curriculum of the department of housing and to develop housing welfare educational program in order to offer the information helpful to the professional of housing education and housing policy makers. Documentary research and content analysis methods were used in this study. Data drawn from internet homepage of each universities and public institutions. The major results of this study are as follows. 1) There were 30 universities which has related to the department of housing and the name of major was very various. The half of their curriculum were housing and interior design. 2) The housing welfare educational program should be step by step. The first is basic step to team basic theory of housing and to establish concept of housing welfare. The second is application and practice step of housing design and housing policy and housing economics. The third is specific application step to consider that who were taker from the housing welfare policy and to take practical training in field.

  • 본 연구는 Homans의 Social Exchange Theory에 근거하여 특정 공원의 매력도(attractiveness)와 핵심시설 (core facility), 핵심recreational program과의 관계를 규명하였다. 즉, 공원의 매력도를 일정 행동에 대한 가치로, 특정 공원의 방문을 개개인의 행동선택으로 생각하여 가설을 제시하고 검증을 한 결과 핵심시설과 핵심 recreational program이 증가함에 따라서 공원의 매력도가 증가함을 보이고 있다. 또한 설정된 모델은 두 변수로 특정공원의 매력도를 65% 설명하고 있다. 이 결과는 특정 지역의 자연조건과, 현재 또는 잠재적 이용자들의 선호를 바탕으로 핵심시설과 핵심recreational program을 도시공원이 제공해 주면, 그 공원의 매력도는 증가하며 따라서 공원시 만족도와 이용 빈도를 늘릴 수 있다는 구체적인 증거를 제시하고 있다.

Development of the Computer Program for Predicting the Aero-acoustic Performance in the Design Process of Axial Flow Fan (축류형 송풍기 설계 과정에서 공력-음향학적 성능 예측을 위한 전산 프로그램의 개발)

  • Developed is a computer program for the prediction of the aero-acoustic performance characteristics such as discharge pressure, efficiency, power and noise level in the basic design step of axial flow fan. The flow field and the aerodynamic performance of fan are analyzed by using the streamline curvature computing scheme with total pressure loss and flow deviation models. Fan noise is assumed to be generated due to the pressure fluctuations induced by wake vortices of fan blades and to radiate via dipole distribution. The vortex-induced fluctuating pressure on blade surface is calculated by combining thin airfoil theory and the predicted flow field data. The predicted aerodynamic performances, sound pressure level and noise directivity patterns of fan by the present computer program are favorably compared with the test data of actual fan. Furthermore, the present computer program is shown to be very useful in optimizing design variables of fan with high efficiency and low noise level and in analyzing their design sensitivities.

  • In this paper, a computer program for simulation of 4 cycle diesel engines including intake and exhaust manifold system is developed. The wave action theory is applied for optimization of the intake and exhaust manifold system. The calculation results of this computer program is finely accurate and agreed well with experimental results. Accordingly, it is recognized that the developed computer program can be utillized very usefully for the design of intake and manifold system. And then, influential factors of the engine performance in the design of intake manifold is numerically investigated by the calculation only. As the results it is concluded that the inertia one of the dynamic effects on the intake and exhaust maninfold affects mainly the engine performance and the pulsation one is a side effect.
