With increasing demands for medical care by society, the medical system, and general citizens and rapid changes in doctor's awareness, the competencies required of doctors are also changing. The goal of this study was to develop a doctor's competency framework from the patient's perspective, and to make it the basis for the development of milestones and entrustable professional activities for each period of medical student education and resident training. To this end, a big data analysis using topic modeling was performed on domestic and international research papers (2011-2020), domestic newspaper articles (2016-2020), and domestic social networking service data (2016-2020) related to doctor's competencies. Delphi surveys were conducted twice with 28 medical education experts. In addition, a survey was conducted on doctor's competencies among 1,000 citizens, 407 nurses, 237 medical students, 361 majors, and 200 specialists. Through the above process, six core competencies, 16 sub-competencies, and 47 competencies were derived as subject-oriented doctor's competencies. The core competencies were: (1) competency related to disease and health as an expert; (2) competency related to patients as a communicator; (3) competency related to colleagues as a collaborator; (4) competency related to society as a health care leader (5) competency related to oneself as a professional, and (6) competency related to academics as a scholar who contributes to the development of medicine.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the use of generative AI and the perception of differences between user groups. This study explored the perceptions of different user groups regarding generative AI, aiming to derive implications for enhancing AI utilization capabilities for each group. Upon analysis, it was found that there were no significant differences in perceptions across age groups. However, notable differences were observed between professional backgrounds, particularly in the areas of generative AI application and ethical perspectives. Consequently, this study suggests the need for diversified AI solutions tailored to specific fields of expertise. It underscores the importance of customized education and training programs, as well as specialized education focused on ethical considerations. Additionally, this research contributes academically by proposing varied AI usage strategies for different age and professional groups. It also highlights the role of text mining techniques in developing and improving AI utilization skills.
The job of dental hygienists is specialized, and they have to be capable of performing their primary duties including prevention of oral diseases, oral prophylaxis, and oral health education. To ensure their successful job performance, dentists should have an accurate understanding of their duties and need a change of mind-set about them. And there should be written legal and concrete regulations on the coverage of their work in order to let them boost their job performance with pride and a sense of responsibility. The purpose of this study was to examine the actual roles and job performance of dental hygienists in clinical field in an attempt to discuss the substantial job performance of dental hygienists and their job enlargement. It's basically meant to help enhance the efficiency and quality of medical services. The subjects in this study were 471 dental hygienists in dental clinics, dental hospitals, university hospitals and general hospitals across the nation, on whom a survey was conducted in person from March 2 to 25, 2005. The collected data were analyzed with SPSS Win 12.0 program, and the findings of the study were as follows: 1. The major jobs they currently performed included oral health education, hospital management, simple duties, extensive dental hygiene duties and joint treatment assistance. They hoped to continue to be responsible for oral health education, preventive treatment and extensive dental hygiene duties. 2. As for their current job by age, extensive dental hygiene duties, preventive treatment, joint treatment assistance, preserving treatment, prosthetic treatment and pediatric treatment were most conducted by the dental hygienists who were at the age of 26 to less than 31, and those who were at the age of 31 and up were most responsible for hospital management and simple duties. 3. As to job awareness by workplace, their workload was statistically significantly different according to their workplace. The hospital employees took care of more work than those in clinics. 4. Concerning job awareness by age, the younger dental hygienists suffered more role conflicts and were given a less free hand in work handling, the middle-aged group's job was uncertain. Legal regulations about the coverage of their work should be prepared in detail as a measure to stir up their responsible job performance and pride. In order to take advantage of experienced dental hygienists, their duties should be more differentiated and specialized, and their working conditions should be improved to boost their job satisfaction. That is, they should be given ample chances for promotion and serving as a middle manager and be given fair treatment according to their career. If their work is accurately darified and specialized based on career, it will boost the efficiency of dental treatment. Dental hygienists also should direct sustained efforts into self-development in order to become a skilled and professional oral health personnel.

The purpose of this study is to examine whether there is a difference in the awareness of death based on happiness (since attitude or way of life differs among the general public, depending on the perception of death), and to investigate whether there is a difference in the interest in hospices between a group with a high happiness index and a group with a low happiness index. A survey was conducted on 200 men and women aged over 20 who participated in a walking event held in a metropolitan city on April 22, 2017. The survey consisted of eight demographic items: gender, age, education, occupation, marital status, family cohabitation, religion, and health status. It included 29 questions regarding happiness and nine questions regarding the perception of death. For the statistical tests, a chi-square test, an independent sample t-test, correlation analysis, and canonical correlation analysis were performed on the items of the survey based on a happiness index. The results of the study showed that, for a suitable place for death, medical institutions was the highest score (46.3%) for the group with a low happiness index, and own house was highest (59.4%) for the group with a high happiness index. This was a significant difference. It is thought that management systems should be supplemented by professional manpower, educating people so as to increase the utilization rates of home-based hospice as a way for patients to die in a comfortable and familiar place because, for Korea, death is much more common in hospitals. It is also necessary to increase the awareness of death and to make effective use of hospices through individual and various other approaches, considering the demographics of the subjects.

Purpose. The purpose of this study was to investigate career awareness of the students majoring in optometry in Gyeongnam area so that it could be used as a database to educate them on their career. Methods. The graduates of the Department of Optometry in 6 universities of Gyeongnam area were surveyed through a questionnaire. Results. Most of their motive for entering Department of Optometry was for 'finding a job(38%), while at the time of entrance, most of them (55%) thought 'optician' as their job after graduation. Now most of them are the expectant graduate and they still think 'optician' as their job(54%). The biggest reason why they think of this career was 'aptitude(34%),' and most of them wanted their first monthly wage as less than '1.5 million won (46%).' For the desired work time, most of them said 'less than 10 hours a day (73%),' and they have been figured out to want '2 days off a week and monthly paid holiday (35%).' For the questions asking any improvements that are needed for department of Optometry, they (32%) answered 'equipments that are old or in short.' For the question asking if they are willing to choose optical task even if they entered a company that is irrelevant with it, most of them (37%) said they will if the conditions work, and the other 37% said they didn't know. Conclusions. The cooperation among universities and the field and their interest are required so that the students of the Department of Optometry would be able to work with pride as a professional to improve social welfare.
The purpose of this study was to examine the awareness of dental hygienists on ethical dilemma. The subjects in this study were 356 dental hygienists who worked in dental clinics. After a survey was conducted, the collected data were analyzed with a SPSSWIN 14.0 program. The findings of the study were as follows: 1. In relation to awareness of ethical principles, 64.9 percent knew the fact that there were ethical principles to abide by, though they weren't aware of the principles in detail. When they were in ethical dilemma, most of them consulted with their colleagues(84.0%). 2. As to the necessity of ethical education, 86.8 percent felt the need for that. Concerning intention of receiving ethical education, however, as many as 41.6 percent didn't yet have any particular intention about that, and 50.0 percent intended to receive that education. 3. As for influential factors for ethical decision making, hospital policies and decision-making process were most influential(3.50), and fear for a possible loss of job exerted the smallest influence on that(2.49). 4. Regarding the cause of ethical dilemma, they fell into an ethical dilemma the most due to their own professional duties(2.56), followed by patients(2.33) and cooperators(2.28). Their overall dilemma score was 2.39.
This study is a descriptive research study to understand the level of communication awareness between doctors and nurses, who are professional medical professionals, and the detailed areas and satisfaction of communication. Data were collected from 372 doctors and nurses at general hospitals located in C city from March to May 2021. The collected data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, mean and standard deviation, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, and correlation analysis, using the SPSS/WIN 20.0 program. As a result, there was a difference in the awareness level of communication between doctor and nurse groups. Specifically, out of the detailed areas of communication recognized by doctors and nurses, there were statistically significant differences in openness(t=9.91), mutual understanding between occupations(t=5.25), and satisfaction(t=8.13) between the two groups. In addition, a positive correlation was found between the detailed areas and the communication satisfaction in both groups, showing that nurses have higher communication satisfaction with the higher openness(r=.72, p<.001), mutual understanding between occupations(r=.71, p<.001) and similarly, doctors also have higher communication satisfaction with the higher mutual understanding between occupations(r=.79, p<.001), timeliness(r=.73, p<.001). Therefore, these result suggest that it is necessary to develop a communication program that can effectively improve the weak areas such as mutual understanding between occupations and openness in nurses and doctors in order to ensure patient safety and provide quality medical care.
Purpose - This study aims to build a systematic frame for effective marketing performances by prioritizing product type and pertinent channel that are appropriate for digital channel characteristics. FCB grid model was used to define a product type, and Internet communication satisfaction index was considered as a marketing performance measuring tool for digital channel. Research design, data, and methodology - As systematic understanding for Digital marketing is still unfamiliar to even professional marketer, the hypothesis was established based on preliminary research by conducting a qualitative survey of marketing experts who already experienced digital marketing in the fields as well as existing related study literature. Through a preliminary research, the degree for understanding for digital marketing, current digital marketing (including product/channel mix) execution status, and difficulties for marketers who had experienced digital marketing were figured out. Based on preliminary research, the main part of survey was designed to examine which type of product would be effective for digital marketing and which digital channel would be effective to achieve marketing performance in line with marketing objectives. To collect data, the questionnaire survey was conducted for professional marketers who had experienced digital marketing in 10 different fields including FMCG, cosmetics, distribution industry for one month (July, 10, 2014~Aug, 10, 2014). A total of 90 questionnaire were distributed and 66 questionnaires were used for the analysis, excluding the unanswered and insincere questionnaires. The data were analysed using SPSS ver.18.0. Results - The analysis for product type which is pertinent to digital marketing and prioritization for digital channel per digital marketing performance type could be summarized as followings. First, high involvement buying decision type of product and rational purchasing decision type of product in FCB grid are more effective for digital marketing in terms of marketing performance. Therefore, marketers in field would prioritize considering product type before executing digital marketing. Second, factor for sales increase, potential consumer creation and brand awareness was represented respectively 31.25%, 21.9%, and 20.8% as a result of factor analysis in terms of digital marketing channel performance. Third, effective major digital channel per digital marketing performance factor was differently identified as each digital channel has its own peculiarity. For instance, search engine is more effective for increasing sales while social media such as facebook and Kakaotalk is more effective for encouraging consumer participation. Conclusions - As a result of this study, product type and peculiarity which were pertinently fit to digital marketing were identified by using FCB grid model, and also suggested framework for decision making of digital channel selection in line with marketing objectives for effective marketing performance. It also provided insight to professional marketer which type of product could be effective for digital marketing execution as well as which factors should be measured for digital marketing performance.
This study was based on the experience of dental hygienists' role conflict, and attempted to grasp the nature of the dental hygienist role conflict factor, constituent factor and coping. Giorgi's phenomenological method was used to analyze data collected through in-depth interviews with nine dental hygienists working in a dental clinic. The analysis revealed three central meanings: task scope, role conflicts, and role conflict management style and limitations. In the first category, task scope, the range of the legal scope, and the duties performed by the dental hygienist differed slightly. The second category included role conflict due to interpersonal relationship, work, work environment, competence, and identity as a professional because of role conflict. The third category included the role conflict management style and limitations. Dental hygienists tried to solve the role conflict situation through various efforts. In the face of the reality that the conflict is not solved despite such efforts, the dental hygienists felt the limitation and chose to leave. Dental hygienists are dissatisfied with their roles because of confusion regarding professional values and lack of awareness of the professional workforce due to differences between legal scope and actual practice. Based on the results of this study, it is necessary to develop a tool to quantitatively measure the level of role conflict in dental hygienists and to conduct follow-up studies on the effects of coping strategies by role conflict situations.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to investigate the awareness of the performance and necessity of oral health promotion activities and seek ways to revitalize the professional role of dental hygienists in oral healthcare for the efficient oral care of the elderly. Methods: Eighty-five dental hygienists in charge of oral health promotion projects at public health centers and 38 dental hygienists in network dental clinical trials were investigated for their learning experience, performance experience, feasibility, and necessity of dental hygienists for general and oral health service items for the elderly. The collected data were analyzed using frequency analysis, chi-square test, and Mann-Whitney U test. Results: The degree of performance possibility according to the learning experience and performance experience of the dental hygienist for the whole body and oral health promotion activity items for the elderly showed that the degree of performance possibility was higher among those with experience compared to the non-experienced person, and it was statistically significantly higher (p<0.05). Conclusions: The dental hygienist's professional oral health service is a necessary system to improve practical knowledge and skills and to provide a wide range of professional oral health services for the elderly.
