Comparisons of Properties, In Vitro Anti-Mutagenicity, and Anti-Cancer Effects of Short-Term Fermented Soybean Foods (Chungkukjang, Shuidouchi, and Natto) (콩 발효 식품(청국장, 물두시, 낫또)의 특성, In Vitro 항돌연변이 및 항암 효과)

  • The general characteristics, anti-mutagenicity, and in vitro anti-cancer effects of Chungkukjang, Shuidouchi, and Natto were studied. Representative brands of the three types of soybean-based short-term-fermented foods were chosen and evaluated. Chungkukjang showed the highest amino and ammonia type nitrogen contents, although Natto exhibited lower levels, and Shuidouchi showed the lowest pH and high acidity. Anti-mutagenicity was assessed by the Ames test and in vitro anti-cancer effects were assessed in HT-29 human colon cancer cells. Chungkukjang exhibited the highest anti-mutagenicity and anti-cancer effects. Based on these results, Chungkukjang showed the best functional effects, and Shuidouchi showed better functional effects than Natto. Even if such efficacies depend on raw materials and processing methods, our comparison of three types of foods from representative brands shows that Chungkukjang was the best soybean-derived product in terms of overall quality, followed by Shuidouchi and Natto. These results might be due to differences in duration of fermentation, processing method, and quality of raw materials, but further research on the basis of ethnic culture and administration method of each nation should follow.

  • Since Korea has invested only on developing an aircraft, it is true that Korea has neglected detailed standards and procedures about certification activities including essential safety procedures. Most developed countries have implemented mandatory airworthiness system by legislating it for operational safety of aircraft based on ICAO Annex 8, and the U.S. Department of Defense and the FAA's Airworthiness system have been adapted it to the realities of their circumstance. Therefore, Airworthiness system that can guarantee the safety of the aircraft at international level is necessary to enhance flight safety and to create export opportunities of an aircraft as a country which can develop an aircraft by itself To achieve this, a study on the improvement of aircraft airworthiness was carried out by analyzing the problem of domestic airworthiness system and by reflecting international best practices on the establishment of a system for improved Airworthiness.

  • Recently, Smart plugs for real time monitoring of household appliances based on IoT(Internet of Things) have been activated. Through this, consumers are able to save energy by monitoring real-time energy consumption at all times, and reduce power consumption through alarm function based on consumer setting. In this paper, we measure the alternating current from a wall power outlet for real-time monitoring. At this time, the current pattern for each household appliance was classified and it was experimented with deep learning to determine which product works. As a result, we used a cross validation method and a bootstrap verification method in order to the classification performance according to the type of appliances. Also, it is confirmed that the cost function and the learning success rate are the same as the train data and test data.

  • Plastics are widely used in everyday life as very useful material. In Korea, about 4 million tons of plastic wastes are generated annually. However, recycling ratio is below 30%, and most of plastic wastes are disposed by landfill and incineration. Hence, the development of material separation technique that can recycle plastic wastes is a necessary situation. In this study, Triboelectrostatic separation for recovery of PET from final plastic wastes obtained from the sink product after wet-type gravity separation has been carried out. In the charging properties, the charge polarity and charge density of PET and PVC were very effective with the tirbo-charger made of PP and HDPE with the decrease in relative humidity. In material separation using HDPE cyclone charger, a PET grade of 96.80% and a recovery of 85.0% were achieved at 30 kV and the splitter position -2cm from the center. In order to obtain PET grade of 98.5%, PET recovery should be sacrificed by 24% with moving the splitter from the center to -6cm position.

  • This study aimed at developing high-efficiency RDF(refuse derived fuels) fuel in order to use RDF energy rationally and to recycle industrial product. As most studies in this area are concentrated in large combustion apparatuses such as kilns, but this study was focused on the small-sized heating systems, applying them directly to grate type boiler which has a heating capacity of $66{\sim}132m^2$. The different kinds of fuel are experimented including RDF. Coke and Waste Tire. First, for this, we experimented and analyzed RDF to see the change in its mass and heating value. Also, four kinds of exhaust gas are sampled by gas analyzer including CO, $CO_2$, NO and $NO_2$ at different temperature. As a result, the levels of CO concentration of RDF are higher than these of coke and waste tire. But, the levels of NO, $CO_2$ and $SO_2$ concentration of RDF and coke were lower then the levels when waste tire is burned.

  • One of the important issues for fabricating the microelectronic display devices such as FED, PDP, and VFD is to obtain a high vacuum level inside the panel. In addition, sustaining the initial high vacuum level permanently is also very important. In the conventional packing technology using a tabulation method, it is not possible to obtain a satisfiable vacuum level for a proper operation. In case of FED, the poor vacuum level results in the increase of operating voltage for electron emission from field emitter tips and an arcing problem, resultantly shortening a life time. Furthermore, the reduction of a sealing process time in the PDP production is very important in respect of commercial product. The most probable method for obtaining the initial high vacuum level inside the space with such a miniature and complex geometry is a vacuum in-line sealing which seals two glass plates within a high vacuum chamber. The critical solution for the vacuum sealing is to develop a frit glass to avoid the bubbling or crack problems during the sealing process at high temperature of about $400^{\circ}C$ under the vacuum environment. In this study, the suitable frit power was developed using a mixture of vitreous and crystalline type frit powders, and a vacuum sealed CNT FED with 2 inch diagonal size was fabricated and successfully operated.

Basic Properties of Concrete with Ultrafine-Blaine Air Cooling Slag as Admixture (초미분말 서냉 슬래그를 혼화재로 사용한 콘크리트의 기초적 특성)

  • In this study, a test has been carried out to solve the problem with ground granulated blast-furnace slag, low early strength & lack of supply and to find out a way to use as concrete admixture of the ultrafine blaine air cooling slag which is all disposed as the by product of air cooling slag and its test was conducted to the replacement rate of ultrafine blaine air cooling slag & mixing condition of every concrete admixtures by type for the purpose of obtaining later a basic data for practical use of the cement that used ultrafine blaine air cooling slag by conducting comparative analysis. If ultrafine-blaine air cooling slag is used to the concrete following the results, a high efficiency water reducing agent won't be needed much for flow acquisition due to a high increase in flow, and the stripping time of concrete form will be shortened thanks to the acquisition of early strength, And though, it has the problems with long term strength which is similar or a little lower than the 3 types of ground granulated blast-furnace slag, it's still applicable as the substitute materials for 3 types of ground granulated blast-furnace slag at 10, 15% replacement rate of ultrafine-blaine air cooling slag, at which it shows higher activation index than 3 types of ground granulated blast-furnace slag.

  • This study aimed to develop non-sintered cement that could replace portland cement which emits large amount of carbon dioxide during firing process. For this purpose, ground granulated blast furnace slag, type c fly ash and slaked lime were used. In addition, through the experimental results, the characteristics of the non-sintered cement binders according to the mixing ratios will be identified, and the utilization plans for the precast concrete products will be presented. In this experiment, non-sintered cement binders using industrial by-products were prepared to compare the flexural strength and compressive strength of each of the 3, 7 and 28 days. As a result, the results satisfy the KS of the target product proposed in this study. Therefore, this study presents the possibility of using precast concrete products by developing non-sintered cement binders using industrial by-products.

Analysis of mechanical properties of agricultural products for development of a multipurpose vegetable cutting machine

  • The consumption of pre-treated vegetables (including fresh-cut vegetables) that are washed, peeled, and trimmed has been significantly increased because of their easy use for cooking. Vegetable cutting machines have been widely utilized for producing fresh-cut vegetables or agricultural products of different sizes; however, the design standard is not established for specific types of agricultural products. Therefore, this study was conducted to determine mechanical properties (compressive and shear forces) of targeted agricultural products (radish, carrot, squash, cucumber, shiitake mushroom, and sweet potato) for developing a multipurpose vegetable cutting machine. According to ASAE standard (s368.3), compressive and shear forces of targeted agricultural products were measured by using a custom built UTM (universal testing machine). Shape type of samples and speed ranges (5 - 15 mm/min) of loading rate on bioyield and shear points varied depending on the targeted agricultural product. The range of averaged bioyield points of targeted agricultural products were between 7.89 and 146.98 N. On the other hand, their averaged shear points ranged from 22.50 to 53.47 N. Results clearly showed that the bioyield and shear points of targeted agricultural products were thoroughly affected by their components. As measuring compressive and shear forces of a variety of agricultural products, it will be feasible to calculate blade cutting force for designing multipurpose vegetable cutting machine.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide a virtual CG - based image production system for a simulator camera. The video production system proposed in this study is designed to synchronize the virtual camera of the graphic tool with the simulator camera at the shooting site and the CG application image editing, And can be easily and easily performed through a graphic tool by being controlled virtually through a control interface. Blaze Knights, an animation created by Dongseo University, was used to illustrate the superiority of the research results by comparing the progress and the amount of work before and after the application of the system. According to the results of the research, the CG artist's work efficiency is increased, while the physical constraint is minimized when the scene of the CG application image is minimized. It is possible to produce various scenes and minimize the re- We expect the contribution to the industry to be high.
