지속가능한 제품재설계를 위한 신뢰성기법의 적용방법 (Application of Reliability Technology for Sustainable Product Redesign)

  • One of the recent hot issues in the manufacturing business is how to incorporate environmental attributes into product and process design. Design for environment considers the potential environmental impact of a product throughout its life-cycle. In the case of something breaks, it can become waste immediately, hence reliability and durability is the essential part of product design. This paper presents reliability technology for sustainable product design to improve the product longevity that extends performance life, serviceability and durability. The presented method will help to develop a sound design and avoid weak links to minimize the waste.

  • The product process is sequence of all the required activities that a company must perform to develop, and manufacture a product. These activities include marketing, research, engineering design, quality assurance, manufacturing, and a whole chain of suppliers and vendors. The process also comprises all strategic planning, capital investments, management decisions, and tasks necessary to create a new product. manufacturing processes must be created so that the product can be produced in the product facility Purchasing new equipment and training workers may be required if new technology is to be used. Tools, fixtures, and the sequence of steps in the manufacturing processes must all be developed to allow rapid, high-quality, cost effective production. Also, it may be needed to be rearrange the production facility to adapt to the new manufacturing processes. Therefore, this study tries to proposed that Scheduling by customer needs group for minimizing the problem and reducing inventory, product development time, cycle time, and order lead time.

미니밀 공정의 회귀식 모델링에 의한 제품품질향상에 관한 연구 (A Study on Product Quality Improvement by Regression Modeling of Mini-Mill Process)

  • Mini-Mill process has been recently in operation at Pohang steel company, which enables more flexible steel coil production on customer demands. The effects of process parameters in Mini-Mill process need to be analyzed not only to make the process stable but also to improve product quality. This work aims to develop a regression model of Mini-Mill process using accumulated product data such that the process parameter effects on product tensile strength may be analyzed. The analysis shows that tensile strength is influenced mainly by the amount of components such as carbon, manganese, silicon, and sulfur. The effect of temperature is shown to be small. It is concluded that control of the components is much more responsible for both meeting the target and reducing the variation of the product tensile strength. Heat treatment is more useful in compensating tensile strength variations due to thickness differences and improving workability and other quality characteristics. More work is necessary for establishing regression expressions of the process that is reliable and accurate enough to dispense with the off-line inspection of the product tensile strength.

  • 제품계열 공학(Product Line Engineering, PLE)은 핵심 자산을 이용하여 어플리케이션을 경제적으로 개발하는 대표적인 재사용 기술이다. PLE는 프레임웍(Framework) 공학과 어플리케이션 공학으로 구성된다. 프레임웍 공학은 한 도메인 내에 있는 여러 패밀리 멤버들이 가지고 있는 공통적인 기능인 핵심 자산을 개발하는 단계이고, 어플리케이션 공학은 핵심 자산을 패밀리 멤버에 맞게 인스턴스화하여 어플리케이션을 생산하는 단계이다. PLE는 핵심 자산을 이용하여 특정 어플리케이션을 개발함으로써 재사용성이 높을 뿐 아니라 어플리케이션을 적은 시간과 노력으로 만들 수 있으므로 개발하는 효율성도 높다. 그러나, PLE 개발 절차에 대한 산출물 정의 및 템플릿 제공이 미비하여 개발자들이 PLE 프로세스를 따라 산출물을 만드는데 어려움이 있고, 산출물간 관계 정의가 충분하지 못하여 산출물간 일관성을 유지하기 힘들어 개발자들은 PLE 프로세스의 실용적 적용에 어려움이 있다. 본 논문에서는 rLE의 핵심단계인 프레임웍 공학 과정의 각 단계마다 도출되는 산출물의 메타모델을 정의하고 각 산출물간의 추적 관계를 추적성 맵(Traceabitliy Map)으로 나타내며 산출물간 추적 관계를 적용할 수 있는 지침을 제시한다 마지막으로, 추적성 맵에 대한 평가와 적용되는 방법을 제시한다.

  • This study is an empirical research to find out the effect on the management performance of hidden champions of food manufacturing companies when using blue ocean strategy for new product development. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, we conducted a questionnaire survey on hidden champions in the domestic food manufacturing industry and proceeded empirical analysis. When small and medium-sized enterprises in food manufacturing industries develop a new product, searching for non-customer, rebuilding the market boundary, and linking the external networks have a significant impact on their management performance. However, the fair procedure did not have a significant effect on the management performance. In terms of relative influence, rebuilding the market boundary was most affecting, followed by searching for non-customer and linking the external networks. On the other hand, this study implicated the management performance of hidden champions of food manufacturing industries when new products is developed by using the blue ocean strategy. Obtained results are as follows. If small and medium-sized enterprises of food manufacturing industries develop new products, it will be able to improve the management performance by utilizing strategies such as searching for non-customer, rebuilding the market boundary, and linking the external networks. In particular, the rebuilding the market boundary among the blue ocean strategies has a relatively high impact on management performance.

창상 치료 시스템에 대한 선호도 및 만족도 조사 (A Preference and Satisfaction Survey on the Wound Management System)

  • Purpose: The biggest problem of wound healing is a possible occurrence of lesion. Especially, in the case of patients who have a skin injury around exposed body parts, if their treatment period drag on for long time, they can suffer from aftereffects and the costs can be passed on to a society. Therefore, in this research, we investigated the need to develop the effective medicine and appliances for the patients by examining which therapy methods are being applying to the skin damage and what is the advantage and limit by evaluating the patient's satisfaction level. Methods: We carried out an online and offline survey targeting medical teams in order to analyze device for wound care. A total of 125 medical teams applied to the research, and investigate the level of customer satisfaction. Results: The moist dressings are the most used method for wound healing. When it comes to the level of customer satisfaction, biological dressing product also has a high satisfaction level. However its high cost tends to limit the use. Conclusion: This research reached a conclusion that it is need to develop a low cost and high efficiency wound care product considering the fact that its high cost and low efficiency induced economic problems. Generally, it is needed to develop a product for skin regeneration based on biological technologies, not a product just for damage cure.

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the organizational design and management of product development in creating new product architecture by an established firm. For the purpose, the paper put up the organizational design in the process of PDA(Personal Digital Assistant) development of Sharp and Casio which were Japanese major PDA firms in 1990s. PDA is the product born through architectural change from Electronic Organizer. Prior research on the product architecture change and organizational adaptation emphasized that an established firm is difficult to adapt to new product architecture due to the restriction of prior technology or organizational inertia. For overcoming these problems and successful development of new product architecture, organizational design and management in the process of product development becomes essential. In case of Sharp, corporate development project team had been used to overcome the restrictions from architectural knowledge accumulated through previous product. After launching first new PDA by corporate development project team, Sharp created a new division and pushed an evolution of PDA, when new PDA market start to grow up rapidly toward a major market segmentation. As a result, Sharp was able to build up stable PDA project trajectory. However, Casio was late for three years in launching of new PDA architecture because previous division charging of Electronic Organizer tried to develop first new PDA. Casio's PDA development was prohibited by engineers of previous division because new PDA architecture was inferior on user interface and display definition. That is, Casio's first PDA development was restricted by architectural knowledge of previous product.

Product Innovation Accounting, Customer Response Capability and Market Success: An Empirical Investigation in Thailand

  • This study aims at investigating the effect of product innovation accounting on the market success of instant food and convenience food businesses in Thailand with customer response capability as the mediator. In addition, it examines the effects of management accounting systems, marketing intelligence, and technology orientation on product innovation accounting. The sample for this study is 258 instant food and convenience food businesses in Thailand. To test the research relationships, a structural equation model is used. The results of this study show that product innovation accounting has a significant effect on both customer response capability and market success. Similarly, customer response capability significantly leads to market success while it mediates the product innovation accounting-market success relationship. Testing the antecedents of the research relationships, management accounting system, marketing intelligence, and technology orientation potentially affect product innovation accounting. Accordingly, product innovation accounting is a key source of competitive advantage. Product innovation accounting must be recognized by company management as a strategic tool for competing in markets and environments. They must invest their resources and capabilities to create and develop product innovation accounting principles, as well as encouraging their staff to implement and use these principles in the workplace.

환경성을 고려한 메타 휴리스틱 알고리즘 기반의 그린 Product Family 재설계 방법론 (A Metaheuristic Algorithm based Redesign Methodology for Green Product Family Considering Environmental Performance)

  • 오늘날의 글로벌 시장에서의 경쟁은 많은 회사들이 시장에서 충분한 다양성을 가진 product family를 개발하도록 하고 있다. Product family를 설계할 때 중요한 이슈 중에 하나는 제품의 공통성과 차별성간의 절충점을 찾아내는 것이다, 이와 동시에 Product family를 설계할 때 리드타임을 단축시키고, 품질을 향상시키며 비용을 절감하는 것뿐만 아니라 제품의 환경 성능을 고려하는 것도 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 환경성을 고려한 메타 휴리스틱 알고리즘 기반의 그린 Product Family 재설계 방법론을 제안한다. 제안하는 방법은 그린 product family의 설계를 위해 메타휴리스틱 알고리즘으로써 유전자 알고리즘과 green product family index (GPFI)를 이용한다. 추가적으로 product family 레벨과 부품 레벨의 product family 재설계 추천방안도 제시하였다. 본 연구에서는 테이블 램프 product family를 대상으로 제안한 방법의 효율성과 타당성을 검증하였다.

상용 PDM을 포함한 이기종 시스템 간의 제품정보 교환에 관한 연구 (A Study on Product Information Exchange between Heterogeneous Systems including Commercial PDM Systems)

  • For the success to PLM in manufacturing industries, the creation, management and coordination of all product-related information are essential, and the exchange of product information and data has become an important part of the product development. In this paper, we define the neutral schema, and it refers to PLM Services. Based on this neutral schema, we develop the PLM Integrator to exchange product information and data between diverse heterogeneous systems including PDM systems. We apply the PLM Integrator developed in this paper to commercial PDM systems such as SmarTeam, Teamcenter Engineering and MEMPHIS which is a data exchange middleware system for VR applications. By implementations, exchanges of product information and data can be done without loss of information. Also, the PLM Integrator can upload and download product information, data and related files. The result of this paper can not only reduce unnecessary efforts for data exchanging between different information systems including PDM/PLM systems but also provide a collaborative environment for PLM.
