  • Induction motors are a workhorse for the industry. The condition monitoring and fault analysis are the main concern for the engineers. The bearing is one of the vital segment of the induction machine and the condition of the whole machine is decided based on the condition of the bearing. In the present paper, the vibration signal of the bearing has been used for the analysis. The first line of action is to perform a statistical analysis of the vibration signal which gives trends in signal. To get the location of a fault in the bearing the second action is to develop an index based on Wavelet Packet Transform node energy named as Bearing Damage Index (BDI). Further, Teager-Kaiser Energy Operator (TKEO) has been calculated from higher index value to get the envelope and finally Power Spectral Density (PSD) has been applied to identify the fault frequencies. A performance index has also been developed to compare the usefulness of the proposed method with other existing methods. The result shows that the strong amplitude of fault characteristics and its side bands help to decide the type of fault present in the recorded signal obtained from the bearing.

  • In this study, a part of the social and the economic condition of Nepali women is introduced with a short comparison to the socio-cultural position of the women of Korea. A relative definition of the condition of the past and now: this also briefly introduces the ideas of some of the Nepali women that we have collected through the questionnaire. A comparative literature reviews about the position of women in the past as well as the review of the position of women in present is made. Various articles are used for this as the method of analysis. A quantitative analysis of the status of women (Nepal) taking 24 households through the questionnaire method was done. The answers given by the women are the base for the article. However, the answers to the questionnaire are used to compare the past and the present. Analysis of the received data and their explanation through the tables and graph are done. The charts and tables are followed by a detailed explanation. Conclusively the briefing of the condition of women in both the countries, the changes that are brought or not brought by development; in their life's status and position in society, is mentioned.

  • We concluded to analysis the air condition of city area in the Chungbuk province by pollutant concentration and weather survey data to used from the data of Air Pollution Monitoring System until September in 2002 from 1998. The results of this study is to prove out the pollutional phenomena and effects in the each area of Cheong-ju & Je-cheon city and to provide the basic data of comfortable environmental condition in the province. Also, we provide environmental statistical dat for the inhabitants in the province as the present condition analysis of air pollution. We got the conclusion of having air condition as clear state in Chungbuk Province from our analytical results.

  • Environmental factors for automotive consist of temperature, humidity, vibration(sine & random), gas, an electrical load and so on. These environmental factors are impressed in a automotive. Dependability is essential requirement in many electronic parts. Among components of automotive, the connector connecting electrical signals is one of the most important parts. Automotive -connector is inspected according to each manufacturer's test standard in which dependability should be considered. This paper aims to verify that current test standard is suitable for dependability, and present an inductive life test for automotive connector based on the field data in use-condition.

  • We present a local convergence analysis for inexact Newton-like method in a Banach space under weaker Lipschitz condition. The convergence ball is enlarged and the estimates on the error distances are more precise under the same computational cost as in earlier studies such as [6, 7, 11, 18]. Some special cases are considered and applications for solving nonlinear systems using the Newton-arithmetic mean method are improved with the new convergence technique.

  • In the present work, flow characteristics analysis has been performed for steam turbine bypass control valve (single-path type). The numerical analysis is performed by solving three-dimensional Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations. Shear stress transport (SST) model is used as turbulence closure. Symmetry condition is applied at the mid plane of the valve while adiabatic condition is used at the outer wall of the cage. Grid independency test is performed to find the optimal number of grid points. The pressure and temperature distributions on the outer wall of the cage are analyzed. Mass flow rate at maximum plug opening condition is compared with the designed mass flow rate.

  • The present work proposes a new image analysis method for the evaluation of the multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWNT) distribution in a cement matrix. In this method, white cement was used instead of ordinary Portland cement with MWNT in an effort to differentiate MWNT from the cement matrix. In addition, MWNT-embedded cement composites were fabricated under different flows of fresh composite mixtures, incorporating a constant MWNT content (0.6 wt%) to verify correlation between the MWNT distribution and flow. The image analysis demonstrated that the MWNT distribution was significantly enhanced in the composites fabricated under a low flow condition, and DC conductivity results revealed the dramatic increase in the conductivity of the composites fabricated under the same condition, which supported the image analysis results. The composites were also prepared under the low flow condition (114 mm < flow < 126 mm), incorporating various MWNT contents. The image analysis of the composites revealed an increase in the planar occupation ratio of MWNT, and DC conductivity results exhibited dramatic increase in the conductivity (percolation phenomena) as the MWNT content increased. The image analysis and DC conductivity results indicated that fabrication of the composites under the low flow condition was an effective way to enhance the MWNT distribution.

  • Hemodynamics behavior of the blood flow is influenced by the presence of the arterial stenosis. If stenosis is present in an artery, normal blood flow is disturbed. In the present study, characteristics of steady and pulsatile flow of non-Newtonian fluid, the effects of stenosised geometry are analyzed by numerical simulation. One interesting point is that non-symmetric solutions were obtained at severity stenosis, although the stenosis and the boundary condition were all axisymmetric.
