  • It is very important to predict the future position for the heavy vehicle with evasive maneuvering. In this paper, we considered for the manual image tracking system. The vehicle images are received from gyro stabilized mirror system, pass through the optical lens, processed, and displayed on the TV monitor. The operator try to lay the reticle to the center of vehicle image. When the vehicle is moving, the mirror platform (actually the line of sight) should follow the vehicle and the angular rate information is picked up from the mirror stabilized system. This rate signal should be used to predict the future vehicle position. The problem is that the visual system of the human operator is in the closed loop system. The rate signals are disturbed by the operator. In addition, there are some non linearities concerned with the control handle bar and the servo control system. The proposed Kalman filter, combined with some modifications for operator disturbance rejection, improved the predication of the future vehicle position when compared with the conventional passive filter used.

  • This paper is concerned with a simultaneous design of TSK (Takagi-Sugeno-Kang)-linguistic fuzzy models with uncertain model output and the computationally efficient representation. For this purpose, we use the fundamental idea of linguistic models introduced by Pedrycz and develop their comprehensive design framework. The design process consists of several main phases such as (a) the automatic generation of the linguistic contexts by probabilistic distribution using CDF (conditional density function) and PDF (probability density function) (b) performing context-based fuzzy clustering preserving homogeneity based on the concept of fuzzy granulation (c) augment of bias term to compensate bias error (d) combination of TSK and linguistic context in the consequent part. Finally, we contrast the performance of the enhanced models with other fuzzy models for automobile MPG predication data and coagulant dosing process in a water purification plant.

  • As we know, roof is composed of heterogeneous rock. When roof fractures, a large amount of energy would be released in the form of seismic wave. How to identify the abnormal signal of seismic wave is a much difficult problem, there are many methods used usually, such as Fourier Transformation, filter technique etc., but abnormal signal can't be recognized accurately. In this paper, multi-resolution wavelet technique is used to identify the first and second variation point, based on the Lipschitz $\alpha$. A living example analysis shows, multi-resolution wavelet technique can identify the abnormal signal of seismic wave effectively in different scale, and the omen of roof fall can be grasped in order to forecast the roof fall accurately. It provides a new idea for the predication of catastrophe on rock mechanics and engineering.

  • Mini-mill process which is one of the new steel making process to be able to produce the hot rolled strip by thin slab caster, was completed in the kwangyang steel work. The new process was constructed liquid core deduction, tandem reduction unit, induction heater, coil box and finishing mill to be varied width. Therefore, in oder to make sure of target strip width, analysis of actual plant data was done to fine out amount of width deviation. Finally, the predication system of width in the mini-mill process was developed to included temperature caculation model.

  • The plane strain stretch test (PSST) developed by POSCO as an activity of customer service was applied to the establishment of the formability criteria and the prediction of failure during the stamping processes. The PSST was applied to the actual parts such as oil pan and shock mount and the criteria of PSST value for each forming parts were established. These value can provide the possibility of prediction of failure before the stamping process. These results show that the PSST can precisely predict the stamping formability of steel sheets.

  • Despite extensive research on R-trees, most of the proposed schemes have not been integrated into existing DBMS due to the lack of protocol to provide consistency in concurrent environment. R-link tree is an acceptable data structure to deal with this issue., but still not enough. In this paper, we focus on a simplified predicate locking mechanism based on R-link tree for concurrency control and phantom protection. An in-memory operation control list (OCList) used to suspend some conflicting operations is designed here. The main features of this approach are (1) it can be implemented easily and do not need any extra information. (2) Only-one-lock is held when descending R-tree even when node split happens, while lock-coupling scheme is performed when ascending. No deadlocks are possible. (3) Searches and insertions are not unnecessarily restricted. (4) Insert and Delete phantom in R-link tree are avoid through beforehand predication.

  • Adsorption equilibrium data of pure solvent vapors (n-Hexane, Toluene, MEK) as well as their binary mixtures on activated carbon (sorbonorit $B_4$) were experimentally determined in the range of 293.2~323.2 K and beyond saturated vapor pressure corresponding to experimental temperature. Langmuir, Freundlich, LRC, W-VSM, FH-VSM were estimated for the predication of single component as well as binary mixtuer systems. The isosteric heat of adsorption at infinite dilution of pure n-hexane, toluene, MEK on activated carbon were 45.18, 25.85, 34.62 Kcal/mol, respectively, also, n-hexane-toluene binary adsorption of activated carbon formed an azeotrope at 293.2 K and total pressure 5.1~10.3 mmHg.

  • In this paper, initial value problem for dynamical astronomy will be established using parabolic cylindrical coordinates. Computation algorithm is developed for the initial value problem of gravity perturbed trajectories. Applications of the algorithm for the problem of final state predication are illustrated by numerical examples of seven test orbits of different eccentricities. The numerical results are extremely accurate and efficient in predicating final state for gravity perturbed trajectories which is of extreme importance for scientific researches as well as for military purposes. Moreover, an additional efficiency of the algorithm is that, for each of the test orbits, the step size used for solving the differential equations of motion is larger than 70% of the step size used for obtaining its reference final state solution.

  • In case of contact fatigue, the accurate calculation of surface tractions and subsurface stress is essential to the predication of crack initiation life. Surface tractions influencing shear stress amplitude have been obtained by contact analysis based on influence function. Subsurface stress has been obtained by using rectangular patch solutions. In this study, to simulate asperity contact under sliding condition, the tip of asperity was simulated by sphere and to calculate crack initiation life in the substrate, dislocation pileup theory was used.
