Nowadays Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) solar cell is attracting a lot of attention as a strong alternative to CIGS solar cell due to nontoxic and inexpensive constituent elements of CZTS. From various processes for the fabrication of CZTS solar cell, solution-based deposition of CZTS thin films is well-known non-vacuum process and many researchers are focusing on this method because of large-area deposition, high-throughput, and efficient material usage. Typically the solution-based process consists of two steps, coating of precursor solution and annealing of the precursor thin films. Unlike vacuum-based deposition, precursor solution contains unnecessary elements except Cu, Zn, Sn, and S in order to form high quality precursor thin films, and thus the precise control of precursor thin film preparation is essential for achieving high efficient CZTS solar cells. In this work, we have investigated the effect of preparation condition of CZTS precursor thin films on the performance of CZTS solar cells. The composition of CZTS precursor solution was controlled for obtaining optimized chemical composition of CZTS absorber layers for high-efficiency solar cells. Pre-annealing process of the CZTS precursor thin films was also investigated to confirm the effect of thermal treatment on chemical composition and carbon residues of CZTS absorber layers. The change of the morphology of CZTS precursor thin film by the preparation condition was also observed.

The total Fluorine content in the precursor solution for MOD processing of YBCO coated conductors can be significantly reduced by synthesizing precursor solution with F-free Y & Cu precursor and Barium trifluoroacetate(TFA). It was shown that crack-free and uniform precursor films were formed after calcinations in humidified oxygen atmosphere. Less than 2 hours are required to finish the calcinations process and XRD measurement shows that $BaF_2,\;CuO,\;Y_2O_3$ are major constituent of calcined precursor films. Film thickness after calcinations was improved to be 2.8um by applying slot-die coating method. In particular, addition of Samarium shows critical current of $I_c=273A/cm-w(J_c=3.8MA/cm^2)$. It is shown that uniform and fast processing route to YBCO coated conductor with high Ic can be provided by employing F-free Y & Cu precursor solution in MOD process.

Solution-based MOD-TFA deposition technology of YBCO layers offers a route to low-cost YBCO coated conductors. Since the structures and properties of grown thin film by MOD process are strongly influenced by chemistry of precursor solution, the chemical modification of precursor solution for MOD process are important for improvement of the electrical properties of YBCO films. In this study, the precursor solution for MOD process are modified by chemical additives and solvents. The microstructure and texture of YBCO films grown by chemically modified precursor solution were characterized with SEM/EDS, XRD.
We have synthesized a water-soluble polyimide precursor, poly(amic acid) amine salt (PAD), from pyromellitic dianhydride (PMDA), 4,4'-oxydianiline, and N,N -dimethylethanolamine (DMEA) and have investigated in detail its properties with respect to the degree of salt formation (D$\_$sf/). The maximum value of D$\_$sf/ we obtained upon precipitation of the precursor solution into acetone was 79%. We synthesized a PAD having a D$\_$sf/ of 100% (PAD100) by the solid state drying of an organic solution. The precursors showed different solubility depending on the D$\_$sf/ to make up to 4 wt% solutions in water containing a small amount of DMEA. PAD100 is completely soluble in pure water. We investigated the imidization behavior of PAD in aqueous solution using various spectroscopic methods, which revealed that PAD 100 has faster imidization kinetics relative to that of the poly(amic acid)-type precursors. The resulting polyimide films prepared from an aqueous precursor solution possess almost similar physical and thermal properties as those prepared from N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone(NMP) solution. Therefore, we have demonstrated that PAD can be used as a water-based precursor of polyimide; this procedure avoids the use of toxic organic solvents, such as NMP.

The influence of the concentration of precursor solution and the number of solution coatings on the densification of the $Pb(Zr_xTi_{1-x})O_3$ (PZT) thick films was studied. PZT powder and PZT precursor solution were prepared by3 sol-gel method and PZT thick films were fabricated by the screen-printing method on the alumina substrates. The composition of powder and precursor solution were PZT(70/30) and PZT(30/70), respectively. The PZT precursor solution was spin-coated on the PZT thick films. A concentration of a coating solution was 0.5 to 2.0 mol/L[M] and the number of coating was repeated from 0 to 6. The XRD patterns of all PZT thick films shelved typical perovskite polycrystalline structure. The porosity of the thick films was decreased with increasing the number of coatings and 6-time coated films with 1.5 M showed the dense microstructure and thickness of about $60{\mu}m$. The relative dielectric constant of the PZT thick film was increased with increasing the number of solution coatings and the thick films with 1.5 M, 6-time coated showed the 698. The remanent polarization the 1.5 M and 6-time coated PZT thick films was $38.3{\mu}C/cm^2$.

New precursor solution with dichloroacetic acid (DCA) was developed for fabricating high $J_c$ REBCO film. DCA based-precursor solution was coated on $LaAlO_3$(001) substrate by dip coating method. Processing parameters such as oxygen partial pressure, water vapor, ramping rate and pyrolysis temperature were controlled in order to obtain a good epitaxial film. The film with thickness of 0.5 micrometer was obtained by single coating and no crack was observed at calcined films. Oxygen partial pressure was controlled in the range of $100{\sim}1,000$ ppm and conversion heat treatment was carried out at the temperature range of $705-765^{\circ}C$. A critical transition temperature ($T_c$) of 90 K and a critical transport current density ($J_c$) of $>0.5\;MA/cm^2$ (77 K and self-field) were obtained for the GdBCO film. It is thought that fluorine-free MOD solution using DCA is promising precursor solution for fabricating high quality REBCO films.

In this study, (La,Sr)$MnO_{3+\delta}$ powder used cathode material for SOFC was synthesized with precursor by GNP and the properties of powder, crystal phase, electric properties and deoxidization properties with precursor were investigated. The synthesis powder was prepared when oxidant/fuel mole and pH were 1 and 1, respectively and the synthesis powder was synthesized by GNP method using nitrate solution or oxide solution as precursor. Deoxidization peak of the nitrate solution was appeared lower temperature than the oxide solution, at $450^{\circ}C$. In this result, synthesis (La,Sr)$MnO_{3+\delta}$ powder using nitrate solution with Mn excess was suitable cathode material for SOFC due to had higher deoxidization properties. Also synthesis (La,Sr)$MnO_{3+\delta}$ powder according to precursor had difference electrical conductivity according to influence sintering density and crystal phase with precursor. Specially, the synthesis method and starting material had effect on deoxidization properties for SOFC.
Two-component ceramic (alumina-zirconia) composites were fabricated by a soft-solution process in which polyethylene glycol (PEG) was used as a polymeric carrier. Metal salts and PEG were dissolved in ethyl alcohol without any precipitation in 1:1 volume ratio of alumina and zirconia. In the non-aqueous system, the flammable solvent made explosive, exothermic reaction during drying process. The reaction resulted in formation of volume expanded, porous precursor powders by a vigorous decomposition of organic components in the precursor sol. The PEG content affected the grain size of sintered composites as well as the morphology of precursor powders. The difference of microstructure in sintered composite was attribute to the solubility and homogeneity of metal cations in precursor sol. At the optimum amount of the PEG polymer, the metal ions were dispersed effectively in solution and a homogeneous polymeric network was formed. It made less agglomerated particles in the precursor sol and affected on uniform grain size in sintered composite.
Ce-doped $Y_2$SiO$_{5}$ phosphor particles of spherical morphology, fine size, high crystallinity and high photoluminescence (PL) intensity were prepared by spray pyrolysis. When nitrate precursor solution is adopted, hollow particles were formed by uneven drying rate between surface and inside of droplet. Citric acid and ethylene glycol were introduced as polymeric precursor to control the morphology of particles. When polymeric solution is adopted, polymeric chain is formed by the esterification reaction between carboxyl and hydroxy groups of citric acid and ethylene glycol, and considered as controlling the drying characteristics of droplet. $Y_2$$SiO_{5}$ :Ce phosphor particles prepared from polymeric precursor solution were spherical, filled, fine size and not agglomerate before and after post heat treatment. The optimum doping concentration of cerium was 0.5 mol% of overall solution concentration. The optimum amount of TBOS of high PL intensity and pure crystallinity of X2-type $Y_2$$SiO _{5}$ was 105% of stoichiometric amount. The PL intensity of $Y_2$X$/_{5}$ :Ce phosphor particles prepared using the polymeric precursor solution was 164% of that of the nitrate precursor solution due to homogeneous composition and good morphology.y.
