  • The purpose of this study was to identify the differences in store evaluative criteria, clothing evaluative criteria, and purchasing behavior for casual wear among groups with different types of shopping orientation. Data were collected from 175 female and 169 male college students living in Beijing, and analysed by factor analysis, cluster analysis, ANDVA, Duncan test, crosstabulation analysis, and frequency analysis. Chinese college students were classified into four groups by their shopping orientations; fashion-pursuit type, individuality-pursuit type, practical type, and apathetic type. Significant differences were found in store evaluative criteria, clothing evaluative criteria, purchasing behaviors, and demographic characteristics. The fashion-pursuit type and individuality-pursuit type were more influenced by store location and service, product attributes, and fashion. They purchased more frequently and spent more money. Esthetic clothing evaluative criteria were considered more important by the individuality-pursuit type than the others, and symbolic clothing evaluative criteria by the fashion-pursuit type.

  • This study analyzed the influence relations of the subjectivity of satisfaction with curriculum in food cooking area based on NCS by applying Q methodology, targeting graduates of hotel cooking department in college. This paper largely suggests two research questions like following. Research Question 1: What are the acceptance types of satisfaction with curriculum in food cooking area based on NCS? Research Question 2: What are the homogeneous characteristics and implications of each type? In the results of typological analysis based on such research questions, total four types were drawn like following: Type1(N=7): Basic Practical Classes Pursuit-type, Type2(N=5): Domestic Employment Preference-type, Type3(N=5): Famous Chef Inviting Class Pursuit-type, and Type4(N=3): Tailor-Made Lessons Pursuit-type. Each type showed its own distinctive characteristics. In this study, the graduates' perception in a specific cooking department would be used as a basis for follow-up researches. In the future, it would be necessary to have researches to establish the customized-curriculum system such as planning/operating student-centered teaching/learning guidelines and also conducting mentoring programs. Also, it is expected to have continuous follow-up researches to complement the limitations of this study.

  • 3D printing is attracting attention from all industries as it enables the development of personalized product design to meet consumer needs by establishing a mutual connection system between production, management and consumers. However, there are still limitations to applying them as apparel materials, and research on the recognition of 3D printing or the preference for fashion products is needed to actually commercialize 3D printing in the fashion industry. In this study on the development of various product designs using 3D printing technology in the fashion industry, an analysis of 255 questionnaires was conducted to determine the preferences and purchase intention trends of fashion product design using 3D printing for college students. Data analysis was performed with IBM SPSS Statistics (V.24). 'Fashion sensitive pursuit', 'Individuality & brand pursuit' and 'Functional convenience' was interested in fashion accessories using 3D printing technology and customized fashion apparel products using 3D printing. 'Functional Convenience-oriented' and 'Practical Purchasing-oriented' type showed that the functionality and durability of products made using 3D printing technology were important. And 'Individuality pursuit' type indicated that design and applied materials were important when producing products using 3D printing technology.

  • The purposes of this study were to analyze 'well-being' lifestyle pursuits depending on consumer types and to classify female consumer types according to their 'well-being' awareness. This study also intended to examine the levels of consumers' participation in pursuing a 'well-being' lifestyle, and to find female consumers' characteristics related to well-being lifestyle. The results of study were as follows: First, female consumers were classified in terms of their lifestyle by using their participation in, and awareness of well-being concerns. The results were divided into four groups: society/family-oriented group, 'well-being' oriented leading group, trend-oriented material wealth pursuit group, and selt~centered/fashionable appearance-oriented group. Second, the results of examining characteristics by female consumer type in terms of their pursuit of a well-being lifestyle show that the 'well-being' oriented leading group had the greatest number of innovators and followers. Also, the trend-oriented material wealth pursuit group consisted of mostly medium level participants, and the self-centered/fashionable appearance-oriented group had the greatest number of 'well-being' lifestyle bystanders. With regards to practical participation group, significant differences were found in the sections of 'health', 'leisure' and 'whole', except for 'appearance management'. With regards to purchase experience of 'well-being' products, the health-oriented leading group was the highest participation level in the sections of 'clothes' and 'food', except for 'residence', in which the society/family-oriented group was the highest. • Classical principal component analysis (PCA) can be formulated as finding the linear subspace that best accommodates multidimensional data points in the sense that the sum of squared residual distances is minimized. As alternatives to such LS (least squares) fitting approach, we produce LMS (least median of squares) and LTS (least trimmed squares)-type PCA by minimizing the median of squared residual distances and the trimmed sum of squares, in a similar fashion to Rousseeuw (1984)'s alternative approaches to LS linear regression. Proposed methods adopt the data-driven optimization algorithm of Croux and Ruiz-Gazen (1996, 2005) that is conceptually simple and computationally practical. Numerical examples are given.
