Road sign support systems are not usually well managed because bridges and pavement have budget and maintenance priority while the sign boards and sign supports are considered as miscellaneous items. The authors of this paper suggested the implementation of simplified machine learning algorithms for asset risk management in highway sign support systems. By harnessing historical and real-time data, machine learning models can forecast potential vulnerabilities, enabling early intervention and proactive maintenance protocols. The raw data were collected from the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) asset management database that includes asset ages, repair history, installation and repair costs, and other administrative information. While there are many advanced and complicated structural deterioration prediction models, a simple deterioration curve is assumed, and prediction model has been developed using machine learning algorithm to determine the risk assessment and prediction. The integration of simplified machine learning in asset risk management for highway sign support systems not only enables predictive maintenance but also optimizes resource allocation. This approach ensures that decision-makers are not inundated with excessive detailed information, making it particularly practical for industry application.

The appearance of education is also rapidly changing in social changes represented by social networks. And the development of information and communication technology is also having a widespread effect on the education field. In the era of untact caused by Covid-19, education through smart learning is having a greater effect on students as well as adult learners more quickly and broadly. In addition, smart learning is not just limited to learning content, but is developing into personalized, convergence, and intelligent. The purpose of this study is to identify the factors of ARCS motivation theory that can determine the learning motivation of smart learning users, and to empirically study the casual relationship between these factors on education achievement through practical value and hedonic value. Specifically, I would like to examine how the independent variables ARCS motivation factors (attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction) affect learners' education achievement through the parameters of practical value and hedonic value. To this end, a research model was presented that applied the main variables of attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction, which are four elements of ARCS motivation theory, a specific and systematic motivational strategy to induce and maintain learners' motivation. In order to empirically verify the research model of this study, a survey was carried out on learners with experience using smart learning. As a result of the study, first attention was found to have a positive effect on the hedonic value. Second, relevance was found to have a positive effect on the hedonic value. Third, it was found that confidence did not have a positive effect on the practical value and the hedonic value. Forth, satisfaction was found to have a positive effect on the practical value and the hedonic value. Fifth, practical value was found to have a positive effect on the education achievement. Sixth, hedonic value was found to have a positive effect on the education achievement. Through this, it can be seen that the intrinsic motivation of learners using smart learning affects the education achievement of users through intrinsic and extrinsic value. A variety of smart learning that combines advanced IT technologies such as AI and big data can contribute to improving learners' education achievement more effectively and efficiently. Furthermore, it can contribute a lot to social development.

This paper addresses the problem of the construction planning of artillery positions, for which we present an optimization model and propose a heuristic algorithm to solve problems of practical size. The artillery position construction plan includes the assignment of engineers to support the artillery and the schedule of the support team construction sequence. Currently, in the army, managers construct the plan based on their experience. We formulate the problem as a mixed integer program and present a heuristic that utilizes the decomposition of the mixed integer model. We tested the efficacy of the proposed algorithm by conducting computational experiments on both small-size test problems and large-size practical problems. The average optimality gap in the small-size test problem was 6.44% in our experiments. Also, the average computation time to solve the large-size practical problems consisting of more than 200 artillery positions was 79.8 seconds on a personal computer. The result of our computational experiments shows that the proposed approach is a viable option to consider for practical use.
This study is to respond to the urgent demands of both society and times on public schools in regards to training an educated person who can cope with the financial environment of this diversified modern society. Therefore, this study will explain the concept of Financial Consumer Education and its trends of several other countries. By focusing on the current state of Korean Financial Consumer Education, it will call attention to the needs of introducing Financial Consumer Education to the school curriculum in order to educate students about finance systematically. To support our viewpoint, this paper analyzed and organized the materials concerning Financial Consumer Education in two curricula (2007 and 2011 Revised National Curriculum), and in a Practical Arts (Technology Home Economics) textbook of the 2007 revised version. Hence, the purpose of this study is to explore the desired direction and revitalization of Financial Consumer Education by analyzing the existing curricula. Even though the content of finance education begun from one of the subcategories of consumer education called 'Financial Management,'the number of research about financial education through public education has been increased in response to the social and academic consensus. Therefore, we suggest the re-conceptualization of consumer education for financial education is necessary. Therefore, this paper suggests that Financial Consumer education in a Practical Arts (Technology Home Economics) should not be regarded as only one of the components of Consumer Education. Instead, by raising it to the status of Financial Customer Education, it is required to teach the learners to improve their personal financial management skill as well as to help them achieve financial knowledge, skill, and attitude as financial consumer.
In this paper, we analyzed 2015 revised curriculum for elementary school's practical art and middle school's information subject based on core competency. As a result, in 2015 revised curriculum for practical art subject, the ability to use information was well reflected in all achievement criteria and learning objectives. Also, problem solving ability and creativity·convergence ability were well reflected. In 2015 revised curriculum for information subject, the ability to use information was well reflected in all achievement criteria and learning objectives as like practical art subject. However, there were fewer learning elements to develop self-management ability. Therefore, it is proposed in this paper that the learning elements and teaching, learning activities and evaluation contents should be included in the SW curriculum, which can further enhance cooperative capabilities, self-management ability and communication ability.
Airlines tried to introduce training programs in connection with practical work in order to provide more effective education and training. To this end, airlines have been conducting evidence-based training(EBT) to strengthen the practical capabilities of aviation personnel and enhance safety culture. Airlines can systematically evaluate the capabilities and practical capabilities of aviation personnel by analyzing operational data and case studies for effective EBT model development. In addition, EBT models can be constructed by applying technical methods such as crew resource management (CRM) and a holistic approach that includes human factors. Due to the introduction of EBT, airlines will establish diagnostic and feedback systems for pilots' practical work, provide personalized education, and establish an education and training system that verifies the effectiveness of education through educational outcomes.
Field training system is an establishment for improving practical ability of college students. That system is a learning experience that are relative to university's regular educational curriculum and industry field training. In order to practice an effective field training system, lots of helps from company, college, students and government's interest are needed. But, in most industry fields, it is hard to accept field training manpower in condition of that has no extra guaranteed budget or staff for field training. Because of it, the biggest matter of college the industry field training is to maintain industry fields. Although students want to be paid properly in industry fields where are furnished the advance facilities and equipments and participated in practices, it is extremely hard situation to achieve it in reality. In this way, the management of industry field training has realistic difficult problems, but it is a necessary system. Therefore, in this paper, methodology and model for industry field training management process are suggested in order to administer effective industry field training. If the industry field training are managed by those system mentioned above, students will have chance to exert their creativeness and speediness through field experience, and industry fields where students can get various dimensions of education are expected to manage.
This study aims to present a non-face-to-face teaching methodology for the theory and practical lessons of design majors, especially for the arts and sports field. It was conducted to improve the existing teaching models after the non-face-to-face online lectures which began with COVID-19. Various existing smart learning methods such as online classes, interactive classes, and flip learning were reviewed, and a method to efficiently manage practical skills by supplementing the shortcomings of each study was suggested. 4 stages of teaching development - setting a teaching method, teaching progress, evaluation, and follow-up management-were designated and applied to the class of design majors. The result showed that it is effective in terms of teaching method and progress; however, the limitations of non-face-to-face classes were found in the stages of evaluation and follow-up management. Therefore, it is expected that further research on evaluation and follow-up management, such as specific practical instruction methods is required to improve completion.
Objectives: The purpose of this study was to develop operation management evaluation standards for efficient operation of practical courses conducted on campus and to verify validity and reliability. Methods: The draft evaluation criteria of this study were derived based on the CIPP program evaluation model, in order to verify the validity of the content, the Delphi survey was conducted targeting 30 dental hygiene professors and clinical field dental hygienists who had been in charge of practical education for more than 5 years. Main survey was conducted with 252 professors and clinical field dental hygienists in charge of practical education. Results: Through exploratory factor analysis, a total of 36 questions were confirmed with 7 factors. As a result of verifying the internal consistency of the final evaluation criteria, the degree of internal fit of the items in the entire domain was 0.914. Conclusions: According to the above results, the validity and reliability of the evaluation criteria for evaluating the operation and management of in-school clinical practice were verified to be appropriate, and it is thought that it can be used in follow-up studies related to the operation and management of the practice course in the future.

Recently many Korean large-sized construction companies as well as specialty contractors have been expanding their business in the overseas market to mitigate impacts from long-term stagnation in the domestic market. Such as a result, it has been arisen as a major issue that contractors effectively manage the delays which have been commonly faced with in international mega-projects. Therefore it can be said that the ability of the delays management leads a success of project. This paper presents a review of literature for delay analysis methods such as time impact analysis(TIA) and raises practical problems to rationally substantiate the duration of extension of time(EoT) in international mega projects which have wide scope of works as well as complicated and detailed contract baseline programs by taking theoretical approaches. We suggest the two improvement concepts to substantiate the EoT claims which are effectively applicable to practical projects. The first is to sort out dominant delays among numerous delays in advance of applying a delay analysis. The second is to set up the delay sections with the advanced concept for analysing delays' effects by TIA. This study performed a case study on an actual international mega-project. to confirm the effectiveness of improvement concepts that this practical approach is applicable for the assessment of EoT. In conclusion, this paper supposes to provide practitioner in charge for an EoT claim with an advanced substantiation methodogy when they not only analyse the construction delays by using TIA, but also negotiate with stakeholders about with the assessment of EoT.
