Multiple Symbol Detection of Trellis coded Differential space-time modulation for OFDM (OFDM에서 트렐리스 부호화된 차동 시공간 변조의 다중 심벌 검파)

  • Recently, OFDM and STC techniques have been considered to be candidate to support multimedia services in the next generation mobile radio communications and have been developed the many communications systems in order to achieve the high data rates. In this paper, we propose the Trellis-Coded Differential Space Time Modulation-OFDM system with multiple symbol detection. The Trellis-code performs the set partition with unitary group codes. The Viterbi decoder containing new branch metrics is introduced in order to improve the bit error rate (BER) in the differential detection of the unitary differential space time modulation. Also, we describe the Viterbi algorithm in order to use this branch metrics. Our study shows that such a Viterbl decoder improves BER performance without sacrificing bandwidth and power efficiency.

  • This paper proposes a novel active frequency drift(AFD) method for the islanding prevention of grid-connected photovoltaic inverter. To detect the islanding phenomenon of grid-connected photovoltaic(PV) inverters concerning about the safety hazards and the damage to other electric equipments, many kinds of anti-islanding methods have been presented. Among them, AFD method using chopping fraction(cf) enables the islanding detection to drift up(or down) the frequency of the voltage during the islanding situation. However, the performance of the conventional AFD methods, which have a certain value of cf only, is inefficient and difficult to design the appropriate cf value analytically to meet the limit of harmonics. In this paper, the periodic chopping fraction based on an AFD method is proposed. This proposed method shows the analytical design value of cf to meet the test procedure of IEEE Std. 929-2000 with the power quality and islanding detection time. To verify the validation of the proposed method, the islanding test results are presented. It is confirmed that the proposed method has not only less harmonic distortion but also good performance of islanding detection compare with the conventional AFD method.

  • In this paper, we introduce an electric vehicle charging system using power line communication and propose a method to correct the error by applying a deep learning algorithm when an error occurs in the control signal of an electric vehicle charging system using power line communication. The error detection and correction of the control signal can be solved through the conventional error correcting code schemes, but the error is detected and corrected more efficiently by using the deep learning based error correcting code scheme. Therefore, we introduce deep learning based error correction code scheme and apply this scheme to electric vehicle charging system using power line communication. we proceed simulation and confirm performance with bit error rate. we judge whether the deep learning based error correction code scheme is more effective than the conventional schemes.

  • We investigated the optimum pump light power compensating distorted WDM signal due to both chromatic dispersion and self phase modulation (SPM). The considered system is $3{\times}40$ Gbps intensity modulation direct detection (IM/DD) WDM transmission system with path-averaged intensity approximation (PAIA) mid-span spectral inversion (MSSI) as compensation method. This system have highly nonlinear dispersion shifted fiber (HNL-DSF) as nonlinear medium of optical phase conjugator (OPC) in the mid-way of total transmission line. We confirmed that HNL-DSF is an useful nonlinear medium in OPC for wideband WDM transmission, and the excellent compensation is obtained when the pump light power of HNL-DSF OPC was selected to equalize the conjugated light power into the second half fiber section with the input WDM signal light power depending on total transmission length. By this approach, it is verified the possibility to realize a long-haul high capacities WDM system by using PAIA MSSI compensation method, which have HNL-DSF OPC with optimal pump light power depending on transmission length.

  • Windows Event Log is a format that records system log in Windows operating system and methodically manages information about system operation. An event can be caused by system itself or by user's specific actions, and some event logs can be used for corporate security audits, malware detection and so on. In this paper, we choose actions related to corporate security audit and malware detection (External storage connection, Application install, Shared folder usage, Printer usage, Remote connection/disconnection, File/Registry manipulation, Process creation, DNS query, Windows service, PC startup/shutdown, Log on/off, Power saving mode, Network connection/disconnection, Event log deletion and System time change), which can be detected through event log analysis and classify event IDs that occur in each situation. Also, the existing event log tools only include functions related to the EVTX file parse and it is difficult to track user's behavior when used in a forensic investigation. So we implemented new analysis tool in this study which parses EVTX files and user behaviors.

  • Wind power is the fastest growing renewable energy source in the world and it is expected to remain so for some times. Recently, there is a constant need for the reduction of Operational and Maintenance(O&M) costs of Wind Energy Conversion Systems(WECS). The most efficient way of reducing O&M cost would be to utilize CMS(Condition Monitoring System) of WECS. CMS allows for early detection of the deterioration of the wind generator's health, facilitating a proactive action, minimizing downtime, and finally maximizing productivity. There are two types of faults such as mass unbalance and aerodynamic asymmetry which are related to wind turbine's rotor faults. Generally, these faults tend to generate various vibrations. Therefore, in this work a simple fault detection algorithm based on spectrums of vibration signals and simple max-min decision logic is proposed. Furthermore, in order to verify its feasibility, several simulation studies are carried out by using GH-bladed software.

  • An experimental study to identify the energized status of the 22.9kV underground power cable by the detection of vibration has been performed. We have derived that there exists vibration at double the line frequency in live cables by electromagnetic force. The relative amplitudes of the cable vibration according to the energized status of the cable were calculated by computer simulation. The cable vibration can also be picked up by accelerometer. A prototype was tested on the underground distribution system in Chonan substation, KEPCO. Comparison between simulation results and field test results was performed. The results showed that the energized status of the calble can be identified by measuring the vibration of the cable using accelerometer.

  • In this paper, the diagnosis system for detecting and localizing the neutral wire defect in an energized XLPE power cable is proposed. The neutral wire defect is detectd and localized by the time-frequency domain reflectometry. To extract the reflected signal from the neutral wire defect, the adaptive RLS filtering is introduced. To verify the proposed method, the experiments for detecting and localizing neutral wire defect in active XLPE power cable is conducted.

  • 네트워크 분석기를 이용하여 GIS용 UHF 부분방전 검출장치가 CIGRE 권고안을 만족시킴을 보일 수 있는 방법을 제안하였다. 이 방법은 운전중인 GIS에서도 활용이 가능하며 주파수 영역에서 GIS 내 부분방전신호의 감쇠율을 정확히 측정할 수 있고 측정 시스템의 개별부품에 대한 교정이 필요치 않다. 또한 측정한 GIS의 구간별 감쇠율을 이용해 센서의 종류와 부분방전검출장치 및 GIS의 구성에 따라 센서의 위치를 손쉽게 결정할 수 있다.

  • A design for a system to perform rapid recognition of three dimensional objects is presented, focusing on efficient indexing. In order to retrieve the best matched models without exploring all possible object matches, we have employed a bayesian framework. A decision-theoretic measure of the discriminatory power of a feature for a model object is defined in terms of posterior probability. Detectability of a featrue defined as a function of the feature itselt, viewpoint, sensor charcteristics, nd the feature detection algorithm(s) is also considered in the computation of discribminatory power. In order to speed up the indexing or selection of correct objects, we generate and verify the object hypotheses for rfeatures detected in a scene in the order of the discriminatory power of these features for model objects.
