다면평가제도의 효율적 운영방안 : 철도관련 'A조직'의 사례를 중심으로 (The Effective Utilization of $360^{\circ}$ Degree Feedback System : Focusing on the Case of Railway-related 'A Firm')

  • Recently, many Korean firms have been adopting $360^{\circ}$ Degree Feedback System as a way of adapting to the environmental changes in business world. The reason is that the traditional top-down way of personnel evaluation pattern can not but have many limits in this turbulent changing environment. The main purpose of this article is to depict some aspects of $360^{\circ}$ Degree Feedback System including its current status quo, its positive and negative side, and the effective ways of its improvement focusing on the railway-related "A firm".

안전행동 향상을 위한 칭찬과 처벌의 상대적 효과 비교 (A Comparison of the Effect of Praise and Punishment for Improving Safety Behavior)

  • This study compared the effects of praise and punishment for improving safety behaviors. Participants were 30 volunteer undergraduate students and they were randomly assigned to one of two experimental conditions: (1) praise under which positive feedback was delivered for safe behaviors, (2) punishment under which negative feedback was delivered for unsafe behaviors. A simulated computerized work task was developed specifically for this study. Participants had to work on the work task and follow seven safety rules while working. When they follow all the seven safety rules, their behaviors were considered safe. If they did not follow any one of the rules, their behaviors were considered unsafe. Results showed that the percentage of safe behavior under group of praise feedback was significantly higher than under group of punish feedback.

Content-Based Image Retrieval Based on Relevance Feedback and Reinforcement Learning for Medical Images

  • To enable a relevance feedback paradigm to evolve itself by users' feedback, a reinforcement learning method is proposed. The feature space of the medical images is partitioned into positive and negative hypercubes by the system. Each hypercube constitutes an individual in a genetic algorithm infrastructure. The rules take recombination and mutation operators to make new rules for better exploring the feature space. The effectiveness of the rules is checked by a scoring method by which the ineffective rules will be omitted gradually and the effective ones survive. Our experiments on a set of 10,004 images from the IRMA database show that the proposed approach can better describe the semantic content of images for image retrieval with respect to other existing approaches in the literature.

시간지연 시스템을 위한 리아푸노브 이론 기반 상태 피드백 제어기 설계 (Design of Lyapunov Theory based State Feedback Controller for Time-Delay Systems)

  • This paper presents a new state feedback control approach for communication networks based control systems in which control input and output observation time-delay natures are generally occurred in practice. We first establish a generic state feedback control framework based on well-known linear system theory. A maximum time-delay value which allows critical stability of whole control system are defined to make a positive definite Lyapunov function which is mathematically composed of controlled system states. We analytically derive its control parameters by using a steepest descent optimization method in order to guarantee a stability condition through Lyapunov theory. Computer simulation is numerically carried out for demonstrating reliability of the proposed NCS algorithm and a comparative study is accomplished to prove its superiority for which the traditional control approach for NCS is made use of under same simulation scenarios.

공기업 비정규직 근로자의 직무자율성, 직무피드백, 직무매뉴얼화가 직무만족에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Job Autonomy, Job Feedback and Job Manualization on the Job Satisfaction of the non-regular employees in a Public Corporation)

  • This study aims to empirically verify the impacts of job autonomy, job feedback and job manualization on the job satisfaction of the non-regular employees in a public corporation. For the empirical analysis, 163 non-regular employees(valid respondents) have been surveyed who are working in a public corporation. And the multiple regression analysis was used to statistically test the research hypotheses. The independent variables are 'job autonomy', 'job feedback', and 'job manualization'. The dependent variable is 'job satisfaction'. The results are as follows. The effects of 'job autonomy → job satisfaction(β=0.182, t=2.664, p<0.01)', 'job feedback → job satisfaction(β=0.208, t=2.927, p<0.01)' and 'job manualization → job satisfaction(β=0.397, t=5.785, p<0.01)' are all shown positive. Therefore, all the proposed hypotheses are accepted. From this result, we can get some lessons for the organizational management especially for the non-regular employees' job satisfaction. If you recognize that the non-regular workers are also valuable human resources for the company, it can be expected that strengthening the internal motivation of the employees through job enrichment such as autonomy, feedback, and manualization can positively influence the effectiveness of the organization.

효과적인 팀워크를 위한 프랜차이즈 호텔 조리장의 피그말리온 리더십 (The Chain Hotel Chef's Pygmalion Leadership for Effective Teamwork of Cooks)

  • Purpose - In the past, the chain hotel chefs only serve food to their customers. However recently, the hotel chefs play a pivotal role in hotel including considering various customer preferences, safety and nutrition of food, and increasing profits through effective human resource management and inventory control. With the change of the chain hotel chef's' roles, pygmalion leadership, one of new leadership styles, focuses on the effect that leader's positive expectation let subordinates have motivation and more engage in work. This study investigates the effect of chain hotel chef's pygmalion leadership on leader trust and organizational trust. Research design, data, and methodology - This study was to investigate the structural relationships among chain hotel restaurant chefs' pygmalion leadership, hotel restaurant cooks' leader trust, organizational trust, and teamwork, and how leader trust and organizational trust play mediating roles in the relationship between pygmalion leadership and teamwork. In this model, pygmalion leadership includes 4 dimensions: Climate, Feedback, Input, and Output. Data were collected using self-administered questionnaire survey on cooks of Deluxe hotel restaurants located in Seoul and Gyonggi-Do. The samples for data analyses were 243 excepting unusable responses. Result - The findings can be summarized as follows: First, climate and feedback had a positive effect on leader trust, respectively. Second, feedback and output had a statistically positive effect on organizational trust, respectively. Third, leader trust had positive effects on organizational trust and teamwork. Fourth, organizational trust had a significant effect on teamwork. Conclusions - As a chain hotel chef treats his/her staffs sincerely, they will be more engaged in work by establishing trust in their leader. Ultimately, it leads to higher sales profit and customer satisfaction. In addition, a hotel can encourage chefs and other staffs to treat each other as if the student-instructor relations, not just commanding staffs. Then, cooks build up their trust to their leader and organization for its sustained growth and development, and the internal bond in organization including teamwork is strengthened. Therefore, to strengthen teamwork and organizational trust, there should be active communication, knowledge sharing, goal sharing, and cooperation between chefs and cooks.

집중력 회복을 위한 감각 모달리티 별 피드백에 대한 연구 (A research on feedback effect according to different sensory modality for attention recovery)

  • 한정된 주의력 자원을 회복시키기 위한 방법 중 피드백이 효과가 있는 것으로 보고되고 있다. 그러나 피드백의 구체적 내용에 대한 집중력 회복의 연구는 미미하다. 본 연구는 집중력을 회복할 수 있는 감각적 자극 중 정서적 피드백 간의 효과 차이를 분석 하였다. 집중력을 평가하기위한 온라인 실험 시스템을 구축하고 시각, 청각, 촉각 피드백 자극을 제시하여 각각의 감각자극과 집중력 회복의 효과를 분석 하였다. 실험 참여자의 감각 피드백의 선호도에 따른 영향 요인을 알아보기 위하여 실험 후 주관적 설문을 실시하였다. 감각 피드백을 6명의 대학원생에게 일주일에 걸쳐 반복적으로 약200개의 자극을 제시하고 5회 이상 실험을 통하여 얻어진 30회 결과를 분석하였다. 결과적으로 피드백 효과가 집중력 회복에 통계적 유의함을 알 수 있었다.

The Effect of Performance Feedback on Firms' Decision to Form an International Strategic Alliance and Performance in the Korean Manufacturing Industry

  • Purpose - International strategic alliance has been regarded as a strategic decision made by firms' managerial problems and ensure performance growth. From the perspective of the proactive behavior for changing strategies in a global market, this study aims to identify whether performance feedback influences firms' decisions to pursue strategic alliances. This study examines the effects of performance feedback on performance when firms use strategic alliances. Design/methodology - To analyze the impact of performance feedback on forming an international strategic alliance, this study adopt the concept of performance feedback to develop a research model and our hypotheses. Thus, this study used a two-stage least squares unbalanced panel data analysis with random effects. This study is based on 24,543 observations from Korean manufacturing firms from 2007 to 2016. Findings - The results show that firms pursue the formation of strategic alliances more actively, if their past financial and R&D performance are lower than their aspiration level, based on the result of performance feedback. An in split sample analysis for examining the effect of a firm's technology sophistication based on the OECD's classification, negative innovation performance discrepancy has positive effects on the probability of international alliance in high-tech and medium-high-tech industries. Financial performance also improves when a firm decides to form a strategic alliance based on the results of performance feedback. Originality/value - This research extends recent efforts to better understand the effect of performance feedback on firms' performance when they use strategic alliances. These findings suggest that the CEOs and managers of firms should consider the performance feedback perspective when deciding to pursue a strategic alliance to improve performance. In other words, the decision-makers in a firm must analyze and consider various complex variables inside and outside the firm and expand such subjects of examination to more complex and dynamic factors.

신흥주식시장에서의 변동성반응가설 검정 (A Test on the Volatility Feedback Hypothesis in the Emerging Stock Market)

  • 주식시장에서의 수익률과 변동성 간의 역의 상관관계에 대하여는 이미 1980년대 이후부터 선진국 주식시장을 통해 많이 분석되어 왔다. 이는 예기치 않은 수익률의 음(-) 또는 양(+)의 충격이 변동성에 비대칭적으로 영향을 미치고 특히 음(-)의 충격 국면에서 변동성이 급격히 증가되어 과잉반응이 형성된다는 것으로 귀결된다. 그런데 이렇게 증가된 변동성이 거꾸로 수익률에 지속적인 음(-)의 영향력을 나타낸다고 하는 변동성 반응가설(Volatility Feedback Hypothesis)에 대하여는 아직까지 학계에서 일치된 검정결과를 보이지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구에서는 이제까지 총체적인 연구가 되지 못하였던 14개 신흥국 주식시장을 대상으로 이러한 변동성반응가설 즉, 변동성의 수익률에 대한 지속적인 음(-)의 영향력 효과가 발견되는지에 대하여 세계공통의 위험요인(Global Risk Factors)과 개별국가 고유의 위험요인(Country-specific Risk Factors)으로 설명변수를 구분한 GJR-GARCH in Mean 모형을 사용하여 심층적인 검정을 시도하였다. 그 결과 신흥국 주식시장에서는 개별국가 고유의 위험요인보다는 세계공통의 위험요인이 보다 중요한 체계적인 설명요인으로 작용한다는 것이 입증되었고 나아가 이러한 위험요인들을 통제한 이후의 시변적 변동성도 수익률에 지속적으로 음(-)의 영향력을 미친다는 변동성 반응가설이 대상 14개국 중 12개국에서 지지되는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 즉, 신흥주식시장의 수익률 하락충격에서 형성된 변동성 증가는 투자자들의 위험 프리미엄 증가로 연결되고 이후 지속적인 수익률 하락압력으로 작용한다는 것이 입증되었다.
