  • In this study, it propose what the landscape elements is to be improved urgently and how to improve landscape by reflecting the rural village characteristics away from the spatial integrated landscape planning. The study area for landscape research is selected as the 9 rural villages in Chungcheongbuk-do, and research is done by using village unit landscape diagnostic index(VULDI). the result is shown that average VULDI value of the rural village zones is bigger than one of the town village zones with difference of 15%. Two zones of Chilseong-myeon and Sangchon-myeon among the town village zones are appeared to be similar with the rural village zones in landscape level by VULDI value. Generally, the rural villages to maintain the good landscape have the low population and high engagement rate in agriculture. Looking political support criteria at the landscape level, the seven zones except Deoksan-myeon and Maengdong-myeon have high VULDI value more than 60%, which means that it seems unnecessary to support political landscape improvement. However, when it is divided into two parts of the village inside landscape and the surrounding landscape, 8 rural village zones except one zone of Sangchon-myeon have low VULDI value less than 60%, which means it is necessary to support political landscape improvement. It is important to give the intensive support of ever urgent landscape improvements and high priority landscape elements on the results of the diagnostic before planning of the rural landscape formation.

  • In this paper we consider voting analysis in the political science in connection with $B_n$(or $M_n${0, 1}), the semigroup of the binary relations on X with n elements. We also consider it in connection with $M_n$(F) (or $B_n$(F)), the semigroup of all fuzzy binary relations on X. Also we establish a possibility theorem and an impossibility theorem in voting analysis based on preferences in $B_n$ and $M_n$(F).

  • In political science there is broad interest in whether a newly established democracy succeeds in overcoming the perils of democratisation and matures into a consolidated democracy or regresses to authoritarianism. Taiwan was under martial law for almost four decades. Democratic consolidation, therefore, is primarily a question of how to overcome the legacies of the former authoritarian regime. Nationalism and dysfunctional political institutions are some of the legacies that limit Taiwan's democratic development. The study of these destructive elements is important in the attempt to interpret Taiwan's most recent political history and to formulate effective democracy-building policies. In the following, I would like to address the aforementioned legacies and their implications for Taiwan's current and future democratic development.

  • This paper is aimed to guide ocean-going companies to reasonable decisions and to increase the competitiveness of Korean shipping industry by clarifying the determinants of political costs of ocean-going companies, which only depend for the enormous amount of money to introduce the operating fixed assets, or the vessels, upon the supporting policy from the government or the loan from the related financial institutions. As independent variables of the political costs, 5 elements were settled such as company size(sales, total assets and market share), debit ratio, capital concentration ratio, profitability(operating profit) and marine risk(sales fluctuation). To verify the relations and the effect level between dependent variables and political costs, the Multiple Regression Analysis Model was applied The result of the analysis shows significantly positive relations between size variables and political cost of shipping industry. Moreover, debt ratio and profitability were proved significant related with political costs of shipping industry.

  • This essay attempts to read Percy Bysshe Shelley s The Mask of Anarchy by attending to a political agenda that Shelley seeks to propose and embody in the poem. This poem was written as a response to an exceptional political event, the Peterloo Massacre, and thus it is evident that Shelley intended to engage in contemporary politics by writing this poem. As many critics have pointed out, however, the way in which this poem addresses social, plitical issues is ambivalent and even confusing, since it contains many elements that contradict each other, and sometimes its political visions are based on incoherent conceptions. For this reason, this poem has been considered to be a failure as an occasional poem which should provide the reader with a clear direction for political actions. Faced with this critical problem, this essay proposes that the ambivalence this poem reveals-e.g., the confrontation between moderate artistic fantasy and radical tenets-is not a retreat from political activism, as some critics suggested, but a result of its creation and embodiment of a public sphere which invites various social classes and their positions. The mode in which Shelley conceives this unified public sphere in the course of writing The Mask of Anarchy can be interpreted in terms of the following three features. First, this poem underscores the significance of thoughts in constituting a communal space between people, thus asking the reader to participate in this process of thinking on given issues. Second, this poem suggests that people should enlighten each other by engaging in communicative reciprocations. Lastly, the public sphere formulated by the previous two features should incorporate various socio-political agents beyond class boundaries (even oppressors themselves) into its own working field. After explaining how these three features are manifested in the poem, this essay argues that the unified public sphere thus formed in the poem is the very agenda that Shelley aims to propose for the contemporaneous politics and culture. As a conclusion, this essay highlights how Shelley s project of creating a unified public sphere finally failed in contemporary history through observing two contrasting receptions of Shelley s works.
