With rapid increase in the number of web documents, the problem of information overload in Internet search is growing seriously. In order to improve web search results, previous research studies employed user queries/preferred words and the number of links in the web documents. In this study, performance of the search results exploiting these two criteria is examined and other preference criteria for web documents are analyzed. Experimental results show that personalized web search results employing queries and preferred words yield up to 1.7 times better performance over the current search engine and that the search results using the number of links gives up to 1.3 times better performance. Although it is found that the first of the user's preference criteria for web documents is the contents of the document, readability and images in the document are also given a large weight. Therefore, performance of web search personalization algorithms will be greatly improved if they incorporate objective data reflecting each user's characteristics in addition to the number of queries and preferred words.

One of the major issues in the field of corporate training and formal education is the support of personalized learning. Successful personalized learning needs the availability of the relevant learning contents at just-in-time for learners each. The competency is one of personal characteristics. So competency-based learning is one of the methods that fulfill the above need. Successful competency-based learning needs the method that recommends the relevant contents for the user's deficient competency based on the user's current competency and objectives. We assume that there exists a student information system that provides each user's competences and objectives as fields of a LIP/ePortfolio-compliant student information. This paper proposes an ontology-based system that, given the user's competences and objectives from the above student informaton system, recommends the relevant contents among a large number of educational contents using competency ontology and domain ontology. The advantage of this system can easily handle the change of competency map and terms related with competences in student information and education contents.

The development of digital technology has not only brought many changes to our lives, but also many changes to the online education environment. The emergence of micro-learning is to meet the needs of individual learners who hopes to receive personalized learning content immediately when they need it. Therefore, Micro-learning can be said to be 'adaptive' education. This research attempts to explore the development principles of adaptive micro-learning through literature research and case analysis. The results of the research draw four aspects of the development principles, including adaptive learning environment, adaptive learning content, adaptive learning sequence and adaptive learning evaluation, as well as detailed elements of each aspect. Micro-learning is a new form of e-learning that reflects the needs of the current society. As exploratory research, this research attempts to point out the direction for future follow-up research.

This study was conducted to investigate pregnant women's experience about nutrition education for pregnant women in order to improve nutrition education programs. The questionnaires were distributed to 185 women with children whose age of under 24 months. About 46% of respondents participated in nutrition education for pregnant women. Major reasons for nonparticipation was 'no information(47%)' and 'lack of time(32%)'. About 40% of women attended to education operated by health centers, 34% maternity hospitals, 26% companies of formula or baby supplies. Participation rate in nutrition education showed significant differences(p<0.05) with age and household income. Women in their forties and with monthly income over three million Won showed higher rates than those of women in other groups. The subjects of education were nutrient supplements for pregnant women(21%), pregnancy complications and health(19%), abnormal symptoms of pregnancy and nutrition (18%), weight gain during pregnancy(17%), dietary guideline and directions for pregnancy (15%), relationship between nutrition of pregnant woman and baby's health(10%) in order. Teaching method which was used most frequently was lecture(35%). About 74% of women were not satisfied with the education. Nutrition management for pregnancy was the subject which pregnant women wanted to learn but not been taught enough. About 80% of women wanted more education and preferred personalized education such as personal counselling (30%), home visitation(26%), telephone(16%) and internet(15%) counselling. These results showed nutrition education for pregnant women was unhelpful for practical life. Therefore, nutrition education programs for pregnant women has to reflected pregnant women's individual needs to heighten the effectiveness of nutrition education.

RSS와 같은 신디케이션 기술은 사용자가 스스로 웹사이트에 접근하지 않아도, 새롭게 업데이트 되는 정보가 있을 때마다 RSS Aggregator를 통해 사용자에게 알려줌으로써 편리성을 가져다준다. 이러한 기술을 이용한다면 학습자들은 새로운 웹 문서가 게시될 때마다 해당 사이트를 방문할 필요 없이, 자동으로 신규 정보만 얻어오는 학습 자료의 습득 도구로서 활용이 가능하다. 하지만, 정의가 새롭게 추가되는 여부만을 판단하는 기존의 RSS Aggregator의 경우에 등록된 채널수가 늘어갈수록 사용자는 자신이 원하는 정보를 찾기 위해, 정보를 분류하고 검색하는 작업에 많은 노력을 기울여야한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제점을 해결하고 사용자에게 의다 효율적인 정보 전달을 위해, 사용자 스스로 관심분야를 생성하여, 사용자에게 전달되는 신규자료는 각 분야에 자동적으로 분류되며, 사용자가 지정해 놓은 조건에 적합하도록 콘텐츠를 제공 받을 수 있는 시스템을 설계하였다. 신규자료를 분야에 자동적으로 분류하기 위해 초기 분류된 문서로부터 분야별 색인어 추출 방안을 제안하고자 한다.

In high education, knowledge is the very important resource and output. Knowledge management is the art of creating additional value from academic knowledge assets. The e-community is the network community, newly created by information communication technology, and the critical place that share and transfer people's the various knowledge and thinking and the effective space that can apply knowledge management. If we construct a convenient and useful e-community in our university, we will be able to increase the student's intellectual needs, and create new knowledge. Web-portal will promote the activity of e-community providing easy to access and personalized web circumstance. The emergence of Internet and Web access to all university services will force institutions to rethik everything. We should reconfigure our academic environment in order to adapt information technology and educational change, and must do change management based on their structure and culture.

개인화는 사용자에게 개인의 필요와 목적, 지식, 흥미 또는 상황에 맞는 상품과 서비스 그리고 정보를 제공한다. 개인화 서비스의 과정을 통하여 개인 사용자는 자동적으로 선별된 정보만을 제공받음으로써 정보화 사회의 정보과잉 문제를 완화하고, 시간의 절약을 가져올 수 있다. 본 연구에서는 제주물산업의 주요 분야인 병입수, 기능성 주류 및 음료, 수치료 등에 적용할 수 있는 개인화 기술에 대해 연구하고 제주 맥주를 위한 개인화 시스템을 설계 및 구현하였다. 본 연구의 성과로 제주물산업을 통해 개발되는 다양한 상품과 서비스에 대해 고객 개별적인 맞춤형 서비스를 제공해 줌으로 해서 고객의 만족도를 극대화하고 제주물산업의 상품을 글로벌 브랜딩화하는데 기여할 수 있다.

The author has been teaching with an instructional module consisting of many mathematical concepts, based on designs formed by personal names or words to arouse students' interesting in learning mathematics. This module has been growing since it was first used as a supplementary lesson for calculus students. Now it consists of concepts that connect with mathematical topics such as number sense, algebraic thinking, geometry, and statistical reasoning, as well as other subjects such as art and quilt design. With its content we can provide our students the basic mathematical knowledge needed for further study in their own fields. In this article, we will demonstrate the latest development of this instructional module, which makes connections between mathematical knowledge and the design of personal quilt patterns. We will exhibit a 'Quilt of Nations' which consists of the designed quilt blocks of different countries, such as USA, Japan, Taiwan, Korea and others, as well as a quilt design using the abbreviation of this seminar. Then we will talk about how the connections are built, and how to design these mathematically rich, uniquely created, beautifully designed, and personalized quilt block patterns.

최근 IT 시장에서는 빅 데이터가 새로운 패러다임으로 주목받으면서 모든 분야에서 빅 데이터를 활용하기 위해 많은 노력을 기울이고 있다. 빅 데이터를 활용한 스마트교육에서는 학생들의 모든 학습활동 자료가 쉽게 수집될 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 모든 학생의 자료 또한 수집이 가능하다. 빅 데이터를 통한 학습자 맞춤형 교육은 현재 진행되는 스마트 교육의 진정한 효과로써 나타날 수 있을 것으로 여겨진다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 학습자의 학업 성취도 향상의 요인인 학습 내용에 대한 관심과 흥미를 기준으로 분석한 빅 데이터를 활용하는 개인 맞춤형 교육 시스템을 설계하였다.

본 논문에서는 학습자의 인지능력을 진단하고 이를 기반으로 하는 학습자 프로파일에 대하여 제안한다. 기존의 인지능력 측정방법으로는 알기 어려운 학습자의 세부적인 학습 능력을 적용한 학습자 프로파일은 지능형 튜터링 시스템의 최종적인 목표인 개개인의 맞춤형 학습 제공을 목적으로 학습자의 인지능력 측정 및 패턴분류를 통해 세부적인 학습자의 인지능력 측정하고 이를 기반으로 학습자 프로파일을 설계하였다.
