Objectives: The purpose of this study was to identify personal and social environmental factors associated with physical activity and sedentary behavior among elementary school students. Methods: Cross-sectional self-reported data were collected from a conveniently clustering sample population of 1538 grade 5 to 6 students attending 19 elementary schools in Seoul metropolitan city and Gyeonggi province. Data were statistically analyzed using Chi-square test and multiple logistic regression analysis. Results: In multiple logistic regression analyses, significant factors that were associated with schoolchildren's physical activity were gender, father's job, social support for physical activity, friend support, participation in school physical education class. Father's education level, mother's job, family functioning and urban residents were significantly associated with TV viewing and gender, age, BMI(obesity), mother's job, family functioning and urban residents were significantly associated with playing computer games among elementary schoolchildren. These results showed that physical activity among elementary school students was most associated with social environmental factors and sedentary behavior among school students was most associated with personal and family environment factors. Conclusion: Health care providers should develop interventions to improve these family and social environmental factors to increase physical activity levels and to decrease sedentary behavior among elementary schoolchildren.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of lifestyle factors on clothing purchase motives, information use, and selection criteria in male college students. The sample included 241 male college students, and an instrument was developed based on the previous studies. The statistical analyses used for this study were factor analysis and multiple regression. The result of factor analysis showed that lifestyle consisted of six factors : clothing interest, serif-confidence, social participation, planned clothing purchase, family-orientation, and conservativeness. Clothing purchase motives consisted of conspicuous consumption motives, fashion and individuality motives, and economic motives. Clothing information use consisted of four factors: paper/display, personal advice, fashion show/clothing observation, and electronic media. Finally. clothing selection criteria consisted of practicability, fashion/individuality, and conformity, Multip1e regression revealed that there were significant effects of lifestyle factors on clothing purchase motives, information use, and selection criteria. For example, self-confidence factor had a negative impact on conspicuous consumption motive, personal advice information use, and fashion/individuality criteria. The relative importance of lifestyle factors were different according to different dimensions of clothing purchase motives, information use, and selection criteria.
This study examined how preschool children's age and mothers' modes of verbal control affect children's lying. A sample of 108 preschool children aged from 3 to 6 participated in a lying experiment. Their mothers answered questionnaires regarding the mothers' modes of verbal control. Preschool children's lying was measured by the Guessing Game Experiment developed by Talwar and Lee(2002). Mothers' modes of verbal control were measured by Jung's(2005) scale for preschool children. To analyze the data, crosstabs and logistic regression analyses were conducted. The results of the experiment showed that three-year-old children are able to lie intentionally. The older preschool children lied more than the younger ones. Mothers' imperative and personal modes of verbal control were positively related to preschool children's lying. The most significant variable on preschool children's lying was mother's imperative modes of verbal control, followed by personal modes of verbal control, which emphasizes the crucial influence of parenting on preschool children's lying.

In recent decades, the research field of entrepreneurship phenomenon has significantly increased in both quantity and sophistication. In Vietnam, paradoxically, while creating a new business venture has become a tendency, the interest in studying entrepreneurs seems not to be thoroughly investigated. This research aims to evaluate the factors that affect the entrepreneurial intention of information technology (IT) students in Vietnam. The authors make use of mixed methods including both quantitative research method and qualitative research method. The qualitative research method is employed to identify meanings, confirmations, adjustments, and compliments for concept-measurement variables in the conceptual model. Quantitative research is conducted from a sample of 424 IT senior students across many universities in Vietnam. Questionnaires have been sent to students to evaluate the measurement scale and appropriateness of the research model. Results from multiple regression highlighted five independent variables affecting the dependent variable, the entrepreneurial intention, in a descending order as following: entrepreneurial educational environment, personal characteristics, perception of feasibility, entrepreneurial supports, and financial accessibility. In addition, this research has proved that the variable attitudes towards entrepreneurship partially mediated among the interrelationship of the aforementioned variables. From this research, the authors make some recommendations to enhance entrepreneurial intentions of IT students in Vietnam.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors influencing suicidal ideation in middle school students. Methods: Suicidal Ideation Questionnaire (SIQ) results, personal characteristics, child abuse experiences, and stress were obtained from a sample of 657 middle school students from 3 conveniently selected schools in S city. Results: Suicidal ideation of participants was positively correlated with child abuse experience, stress, psychosomatic symptoms, antisocial personality and depressive tendencies, whereas sociability and self-esteem were negatively correlated with suicidal ideation. Significant factors influencing suicidal ideation included an antisocial personality tendency, stress related to the family environment, mental abuse, gender (female), depressive trend, running away from home, sociability, and stress related to academic performance. These factors explained 39.9% of the variance. Conclusion: These results suggest that earlier screening and intervention programs for depression and stress in middle school students will be helpful in reducing suicidal ideation. Further studies are needed in which other strategies that could prevent suicidal ideation in middle school students are examined.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze the paths of influence that a hospital's ethical climate exerts on nurses' organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior, with supervisor trust as the mediating factor, and verify compatibility of the models in hospital nurses. Methods: The sample consisted of 374 nurses recruited from four hospitals in 3 cities in Korea. The measurements included the Ethical Climate Questionnaire, Supervisor Trust Questionnaire, Organizational Commitment Questionnaire and Organizational Citizenship Behavior Questionnaire. Ethical Climate Questionnaire consisted of 6 factors; benevolence, personal morality, company rules and procedures, laws and professional codes, self-interest and efficiency. Data were analysed using SPSS version 18.0 and AMOS version 18.0. Results: Supervisor trust was explained by benevolence and self-interest (29.8%). Organizational commitment was explained by benevolence, supervisor trust, personal morality, and rules and procedures (40.4%). Organizational citizenship behavior was explained by supervisor trust, laws and codes, and benevolence (21.8%). Conclusion: Findings indicate that managers need to develop a positive hospital ethical climate in order to improve nurses' trust in supervisors, organizational commitment and organizational citizenship behavior.
The Denver Developmental Screening Test was devised to provide a simple method of evaluating the developmental status of infants and preschool children. To assess the development of Korean children, 667 children (390 boys and 277 girls) between the ages of 2 weeks and 6 years who live in Kwangju city and rural areas in Chonnam were examined according to the DDST. The ages at which 25%, 50%, 75%, and 90% of the children performed each item were calculated for the entire sample. The results of these were compared with the norms of Denver children and other related previous studies in Korea. The development of the boys was also compared with that of the girls, and further the test results of city children and country children were also compared. Girls performed the DDST items in personal-social, fine motor-adaptive and gross motor sectors slightly earlier than boys. In general, however, there were no significant differences in the developmental rate between boys and girls. In all four sectors of the DDST, urban children performed the items significantly earlier than rural children. In comparing Korean children and Denver children, Korean children tended to perform gross motor and personal-social items at a slightly earlier age than Denver children. In the language sector, Denver children tended to perform a little earlier than Korean children. But on the whole there were no significant differences in developmental status between Korean and Denver children. It should be noted that a few items, such as“Uses plurals”, needed to be changed due to the structure of Korean language.
Digital fetal monitoring system based on the personal computer combined with the digital signal processing board was implemented. The DSP board acquires and digitally processes ultrasound fetal Doppler signal for digital rectification, FIR filtering, autocorrelation function calculation, its peak detection and MEDIAN filtering. The personal computer interfaced with the DSP board is in charge of graphic display, hardcopy, data transmission and on-line analysis of fetal heart rate change including and variability. I used a recursive technique for autocorrelation function computation method and MEDIAN filter which can greatly reduce the amount of calculation and accuracy. I also implemented analysis algorithm of fetal heart rate change based on normal fetal sample data in order to exact diagnosis.
Purpose - This paper examines Kazakh women's spending patterns and buying behavior. Research design, data, and methodology - After thoroughly reviewing the related literature on consumer behavior in general, and female consumer behavior in particular, both questionnaires and in-depth personal interviews were used to collect data from 400 Kazakh women consumers equally chosen from the age groups 20-30, 30-40, 40-50, and above 50. Results - A stratified and convenient sample was employed, and the selected five hypotheses were proved using the Karl Pearson Coefficient of Correlation. Related to spending patterns, 40 and 35 percent of the 20-30 and 30-40 age groups, respectively, of Kazakh women spend their incomes on personal items, as against 30 percent from both the 40-50 and 50 and above age groups. Twenty-five and 35 percent of the 40-50 and 50 and above age group, respectively, take decisions based on product quality, whereas this percentage is at its mite in the below 40 age group. Conclusions - The buying behavior of Kazakh women consumers is revealed; the results proffer useful background information to formulate marketing strategies.
