  • The main purpose of this paper is to account for the so-called "Annyeongdeul Hasipnikka?" communication in terms of Niklas Luhmann's communication theory. The communication theory of Niklas Luhmann which is constructed on the basis of the system theory is, despite its complexity, effective to shed light on many unique communicative phenomena. To understand the thematic diversity and ceaseless conjunction as the obtrusive characteristics of the "Annyeongdeul Hasipnikka?" communication the adoption of the system-theoretical communication theory is required. Unlike Habermas's the theory of communicative action highlighting the consensus as decisive goal of communication, Luhmann maintains that the proliferation through diversification and persistence of communication even through refusal are also the communicative elements for its operation. This paper tries to demonstrate the uniqueness of "Annyeongdeul Hasipnikka?" communication by virtue of the system-theoretical perspective.

  • Students who have correct conception didn't show big changes in a test of cognitive conflict, while students who have misconception made significant changes Most students who had misconception were considerably curious about demonstration of an actual phenomenon. On the other hand, according to their own confidence of preconception, the higher confidence of misconception is, the bigger conflicts are and when they meet some different phenomenon unlike their ideas, their psychological shock was big. After a cognitive conflict lesson, students' conception was significantly changed regardless of students' confidence of preconception and the persistence effect new conceptions showed similar result as preceeding research regardless of confidence of preconception. That is, the change decreased from immediate after demonstration of an conflict situation to a week after. After conceptual change, students' confidence of correct conception was generally increased, so it turned out that cognitive conflict lesson had a positive effect on students who had a misconception.

  • An algebraic algorithm for predicting the joint trace distribution on the cut-face of rock slope based on the orientations and the locations of joints investigated in the borehole has been developed. Joint trace prediction is manipulated by utilizing the three dimensional plane equations of both joint planes and projection face, and the extent of trace within the projection area is calculated by considering the persistence of each joint plane. Joint trace prediction method is efficiently applied for analyzing the stability and the adequacy of support design of Gimhae Naesam cut-slope, which is structurally unstable due to slumping. Structural characteristics of rock mass is investigated by performing DOM drilling and the potential rock mass sliding inside slope face is analyzed by examining the orientations of joint planes which can induce the slope failure. Also, the efficiency of anchor support design is evaluated by considering the joint trace distribution on the anchor installation area and its sliding potential.

  • Organic acids are known as natural sanitizers. We examined the sanitizing effects of five organic acids (acetic acid, propionic acid, citric acid, malic acid, and lactic acid) and their persistence on three pectinolytic yeast strains isolated from decayed citrus, and the persistence of their sanitizing effects was determined during storage at $4^{\circ}C$ and $16^{\circ}C$. The 7~8 log CFU/mL of the mixed three yeast mixture was exposed to various concentrations of each organic acid for 1 min. The yeast mixtures decreased under detection limit(1 log CFU/mL) in 1% of acetic acid, followed by in 3% of propionic acid with the reduction of 5 log CFU/mL. The citric acid, malic acid, and lactic acid decreased the number of yeasts under detection limit at 7.5%. When treated with deionized water and 1~5% of organic acids were treated on the surfaces of citrus contaminated by yeasts, total numbers of the yeasts decreased under detection limit(3 log CFU) at 5% of acetic acid and 4 log CFU/piece at 5% propionic acid compared with deionized water. When treated with acetic acid and propionic acid on the stem ends of the contaminated citrus, total numbers of the yeasts significantly decreased 0.5 log CFU/piece at 3% of both organic acids. During storage at $4^{\circ}C$ and $16^{\circ}C$ for 20 days, total number of yeasts significantly decreased at 2% acetic acid compared with deionized water. This study suggested that organic acids could be used to sanitize microbial contaminants from citrus for storage and transportation.

  • This thesis investigates the development of optical instruments in the 19th century, before the birth of the cinema, and the principle of the perception of moving images. For this purpose it traces the development stages of the optical instruments which demonstrated 'illusion of movement' from 1820s when the 'persistence of vision' had begun to be researched by scientists. Then, it examines the theory of the 'persistence of vision' or 'afterimage effect' known as the principle in the perception of illusion of movement produced from moving images. The optical instruments in the 19th century that presented the illusion of movement began with the Thaumatrope (double-sided picture disc), and appeared from the Phenakistiscope/Stroboscope (revolving disc), the Zoetrope (revolving drum) and the Praxinoscope (mirror-reflexive revolving drum), and in 1892 the Projection-Praxinoscope presented firstly the moving pictures (animation) on the screen. According to the research of psychology and physiology in the early 20th century it has been recognized that the 'afterimage effect' theory is not sufficient to explain the perception of illusion of movement from the moving images which is closely related to the particularity of the visual perception system of the human eyes. Since then, the Phi-phenomenon suggested 1912 by the Gestalt psychologist, Max Wertheimer (1880-1943), is regarded as the most persuasive theory until now, although it is still imperfect.

  • Initially entering into the job market during hard times with unfavorable market institutions has a persistent, negative effect on young workers' subsequent employment. This paper analyzes hysteresis in youth unemployment by using a composite fixed-effect panel data model. Data sets for the age-cohort unemployment rate and for labor market institutions are constructed from OECD statistics from 21 advanced economies, including Korea, from 1985 to 2017, and are then readjusted to match with the peculiarities of the Korean market. In Korea, with a less-aggressive stance on active labor market policy spending, a male worker who experiences a one percentage point higher youth unemployment rate when he was 20- to 29-years-old has a 0.146 percentage point higher unemployment rate at the ages of 30-to 34-years-old and a 0.035 percentage point higher unemployment rate at the age of 35- to 39-years-old. These figures are larger than those in most countries that have more aggressive spending schemes. These findings point out that hysteresis in the Korean labor market can be mitigated by expanding active labor market policy spending more aggressively and more effectively.

  • The main purpose of this paper is to understand the process of the poverty exit across generations through the live experience based on the grounded theory analysis of the in-depth interview. We find that poverty means a lack of achievement and freedom of agency that is a level of control about resource and situation. So exit of poverty across generations is the state that is not only to achieve functioning but also to recover capabilities. Based on this result, central phenomena of the intergenerational exit process of poverty are support from relation and continuous transition at each stage in life. Even if this central phenomenon is an important event, it has the incomplete attribute. Because support from relation is beyond individual scope of control and participants can't escape second labor market as they don't have enough time in the process of transition. Therefore, this paper suggests that the expansion of state welfare and strategy should support transition as policy priorities to minimize limitation of relation and risk of income loss.

  • It is a global trend to consider contaminated low-permeability zones as one of the primary management targets for the remediation of DNAPL contaminated sites. In addition, studies on the persistence caused by back diffusion of DNAPLs from low-permeability zones have been actively conducted worldwide. On the other hand, the studies for domestic groundwater contamination with the low-permeability zones are insufficient. Therefore, this study introduces the forward and back diffusions of DNAPL through low-permeability zones and suggests the importance of them by reviewing representative previous studies, especially on back diffusion and plume persistence. We proposed six diffusion scenarios and analytical solutions based on various boundary conditions of low-permeability zones. FI (forward diffusion into infinite domain) and BI (back diffusion form infinite domain) scenarios illustrate forward and back diffusion in which the depths of a low-permeability layer are assumed to be infinite. FFN (forward diffusion into finite domain with no flux boundary) and BFN (back diffusion from finite domain with no flux boundary) scenarios describe forward and back diffusion for a finite domain of a low-permeability layer with no flux boundary at the bottom. When the bottom of a low-permeability layer is considered as flux boundary, forward and back diffusion scenarios correspond to FFF (forward diffusion into finite domain with flux boundary) and BFF (back diffusion from finite domain with flux boundary). The scenarios and analytical solutions in this study may contribute to the determination of an efficient remediation method based on site characteristics such as a thickness of low-permeability zones or duration of contamination exposure.

  • To investigate the effect of amount of nitrogen application on decomposition of barley straw, growth and yield of rice in paddy field of double cropping, this study was conducted to Jeonbuk series at the Honam area from 1997 to 1998. Carbon persistence of barley straw was lowered while nitrogen persistence rate was increased as increasing amount of nitrogen application and carbon -nitrogen ratio was not decreased as increasing amount of nitrogen application. Soil microflora under barley straw application was high in order of actinomycetes>cellulosedecomposer>bacteria>fungi. Nitrogen starvation under barley straw application showed at tillering stage of rice, but this was not appeared in plot of N $144kg\;ha^{-1}$ application. Plant height, culm length and ear length of rice plant by barley straw application were short, but those of N $108kg\;ha^{-1}$ application was not different from compared with none-application barley straw. Rice yield of N $108kg\;ha^{-1}$ applied barley straw was smiliar to none-application barley straw, but that of N 90. $144kg\;ha^{-1}$ was highly decreased.

  • This study examined the record destruction problem systematically implemented by the Japanese colonial rule during the wartime period, centering on the persistence of the remaining records of Government-General of Chosen. It became clearer to recognize the historical probabilities that the decisions made by the Japanese cabinet were carried out on official documents in the same way throughout the empire, including mainland Japan and colonies. It was also confirmed that a system for disposing of records, such as reduction and organization of public documents, and recycling of paper resources, has already been established against the backdrop of the situation where the war spread and the war situation worsened after the late 1930s. In addition, it was attempted to extract the types and characteristics of documents discarded by the Japanese colonial rule through a review of the regulations on handling secret documents of the Government-General of Chosen and the regulations on the police department. At the same time, it was found that various chiefs (subsidiaries) that could know the status of documents to be retained or the status of preservation according to the governmental regulations revealed that there was no single book, and this was directly related to the massive destruction of official documents by the Joseon Governor-General immediately after defeat.
