  • In tnis paper, the CRC-CCITT code and primitive polynomial CRC code are selected for analysing error detecting performance. However, general formulas for obtaining the weight distribution of these two CRC codes are not so far dericed. So, a new method for calculating the weight distribution of the shortened cyclic Hamming code is presented and an undetected error probability of these two codes is obtained when used in cell of ATM for broadband ISDN user-network interface. Consequently, we show that CRC code too much does affect its error detection performance. All the computer simulation is performed by IBM PC/AT.

  • We developed a compact micro indentation testing device (designated SNUT) which is capable to measure Young's modulus of a sample using depth and applied load data during indentation. Performance of this device was evaluated using pure Ti, pure Ni, and die steel (SKD11). As a result of analysing the indentation test data, the frame compliance $C_f$ was found to influence mainly the modulus by 80% among several factors affecting accuracy of Young's modulus. Project area, which was determined by indirect indentation method, was modified using direct SEM observation. Finally, Young's modulus error was reduced to 5% after taking into consideration the frame compliance and modified projected area from 80% error without any these two correction factors. The performance of SNUT and MTS instruments was compared using same specimen (pure Ti).

  • To increase the chance of the success of project, it is necessary to identify the important factors influencing the performance of project. Cognitive map has been used for analysing by investigating causal links among relevant factors. A fuzzy cognitive map (FCM) is an extension of a cognitive map with the additional capability of representing feedback through weighted causal links. Project performance is influenced by several factors such as input resources, possibility of achievement, concern of others and so on. The object of this paper is to develop the project success model of enterprise using a fuzzy cognitive map approach to investigate the degree of causal relationship between project performance and these factors.

  • Currently, there is insufficient research on the construction management performance since the CM system was introduced in Korea. For successful completion of construction projects, active use of construction mangers on projects is necessary by introducing construction management to the projects. In view of this, this study analyzed the annual CM performance from 1996 to 2013 but for the past 5 years from 2009 to 2013, a detailed analysis was carried out. For different sectors, CM performances were divided into public and private sectors, for project types, construction, civil and others, for project phases, pre-design, design, construction and post-construction phases, for contract types, sole and joint contract types, for project scale, the amount of the projects was taken into consideration and they were divided into large, medium and small scales and for the types of projects, they were divided into, shops, department stores, shopping centers, hospitals, government buildings, hotels, accommodation facilities, factories, buildings for workshops, office buildings, stadiums, playgrounds, schools and other construction types and all the data divided into such categories was analyzed. The results in this study can be used as a basic reference for studies in analysing construction management performances.

  • Recently the construction industry in Korea is facing problems such as low productivity, contraction of the domestic construction market, growing competition, and so on. To enhance the competitiveness continuously through efficiency in this business environments, construction companies need to make efforts to measure and accumulate performance data based on the strategic factors. When analysing performance of construction projects, the unique characteristics of each project should be considered properly, by which the managers can identify current status of project in various perspectives. This study proposes the performance analysis system using the concepts of balanced scorecard and data warehouse technology. The suggested system provides the management with the flexibility in analyzing performance data by applying the pre-defined key performance indicators and the function of multi-dimensional analysis.

  • The purpose of study is to promote the development of contents industry by analysing the causal relationship between R&D collaboration and firms' performance. In study, we use the number of intellectual property and total sales as proxy variables of performance. we use the degrees of collaboration experience, firms' interaction and degree of collaboration as proxy variables of independent variables. The results of study are as follows. First, collaboration experience and firms' interaction are positively influence on technological performance. Second, collaboration experience is positively correlated to economic performance. Finally, firms' R&D collaboration revealed higher performance than R&D collaboration of firm and R&D institution This study emphases on the importances of R&D collaboration for developing new technology and improving economic performance.

  • An training activity within organization is main factor for creating a competitive advantage in knowledge-based economic system. Therefore the purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between training activity in organization and business performance and corporate value. Also it was analysed whether the effect of training was different between large company and small company. The major results of analysing the effect of training on organization performance are as follows. First, training activity was positively related to Tobin's Q each year. As for net income per person the effect on training was significant in 2009 and 2010 except 2008. The sales per person was significantly related in 2008 and 2009. Second, as the result of analysis of training investment on organization performance, as for large company the effect of training on business performance and corporate value was mostly significant excluding 2008' net income per person and 2010' sales per person. While as for small company all effects were not related.

  • This study presents to demonstrate the relationships among emotional intelligence, job engagement, and work performance as perceived by hotel employees. For conducting analysis in this study, 380 copies of the questionnaire were distributed to the employees in deluxe hotels in Seoul and 353 copies was used for statistical analysing by using SPSS 18.0. Current stud y found that the factors of hotel employees' emotional intelligence (other's emotion, control of emotion, self-emotion, and use of emotion) have a critical effect on the concentration job engagement. In addition, the elements of job engagement (concentration and job engagement) have a significantly effect on work performance. Based on these results, the study established that hotel employees' emotional intelligence and job engagement were important elements as key factors affecting the continuous work performance of the hotel industry. Through these study results, this study provides practical implications that help hotel employees to better understand their emotional factors are critical predictor of job engagement and it will be useful information for utilizing human resources and improve their work performance.

  • A broadband antenna available in the range of 30MHz for electromagnetic interference (EMI) test is proposed in this paper, This antenna is configurated in a disk-loaded cylindrical dipole (DLCD) connected to an 180。 hybrid balun consisting of two coaxial feeders. The performance of EMI antenna is characterized with its accurate antenna factor. The antenna factor for this antenna is obtained by using the method of moments and the calculated results are compared with the measured ones. Normalized site attenuation (NSA) is also measured by using this antenna. The results present that the propose antenna could be used for a reference antenna having measurement reproducibility and represented by a theoretically accurate analysing model in EMI measurement.

  • One of the advantages using High-Strength steel reinforcement in construction is the economic effect due to the decreasing of its quantity. Also, another good effect is the increases of workability by reason of reducing the congestion. This study explain plan of experiment after analysing of ACI 318, 349, 359 to develop 550MPa re-bar design criteria applicable to flexural members of nuclear power plants.
