  • This study analyzed risk perception and risk reduction behaviors of male and female college students in their twenties who purchased fashion products in internet shopping malls. It also investigated the relationship between risk perception and risk reduction behavior as well as the ways in which groups, categorized by risk perception, differed in their risk reduction behaviors. The results of this study were as follows: first, seven factors of risk perception were identified. These were product quality, shipping, product image, payment, economic feasibility, fear of other people's reactions, and size. Six types of risk reduction behavior were also identified. These were product comparison, word-of-mouth information search, price search, preference for name-brand, service comparison, and referring to experiences. Next, a correlational analysis of the factors of risk perception and those of risk reduction behavior showed several patterns. The highest positive correlation was between economic risk perception and product comparison behavior. In addition, shipping risk perception was positively correlated with service comparison behavior and product quality and product image had a positive correlation with word-of-mouth information search behavior. Third, customers of internet shopping malls could be categorized into three groups: shipping risk perception group, high risk perception group, and product quality risk perception group. The groups were shown by factor analysis to be significantly different to each other. Finally, risk reduction behavior was investigated according to the different groups of risk perception of the internet shopping malls and the results showed significant differences among groups.

  • The goals of this study were threefold. First, the researcher sought to describe the perceptions of wives and husbands concerning the degree of fairness in the division of household labor. Second, the determinants of wives and husbands' perception of the fairness in the division of household labor were analyzed. Third, the factors that affect wives' perception of the fairness in the division of household labor were compared with the factors that affect husbands' perception of the fairness. The data of this study were collected from a survey of 139 married couples with children of high school age or younger, residing in Seoul, Inchon, and Kyunggido. A structured questionnaire was used in the survey. Frequencies, percentiles, mean, Peason's correlations, Cronbach's alpha, t-tests, and multiple regressions were used to analyze the data. The results show that both the wives and the husbands perceived the division of household labor as unfair for the wives. Further, husbands' gender-role attitudes and household labor preference affected wives and husbands' perception. Most comparison reference variables affected significantly the wives and husbands' perception. Lastly, there was a gender difference in the significance of comparison reference variables and demographic variables. The wives mainly employed within-marriage comparisons but the husbands mostly used outside-marriage comparisons. The demographic variables affected the wives' perception, but not the husband's.

  • The purpose of this study is investigate the characteristics of color perception among Chinese people, and compare the characteristics among Korean, Chinese and Japanese people, using Munsell color space. The results are as follows: 1) Chinese people were more likely to tell accurately red, yellow red, yellow, purple, and an achromatic color, but did not do accurately green yellow, blue, and purple blue. In terms of a comparison of average perceived color and standard color, there were significant differences among green yellow, blue green, and blue and standard color; 2) Color perceptions of Korean, Chinese and Japanese people were broadly classified into four types. Also, of ten chromatic colors, the color perception type of only two colors, red and yellow, were is same among the groups of the three countries. However, the color perception type of yellow red, green, blue green and blue were different among them; and 3) In terms of a color perception accuracy test among the groups of the three countries, there were not significant differences between yellow and purple and standard color. However, significant differences existed between the rest of the colors and standard color.

  • The primary goal of this study is to find out how the effect of speaking rate has some influence on the production and perception across languages. Through both experiments of production and perception, an English native speaker changes both production and perception simultaneously. Especially the production of the temporal features changes relatively fast. On the contrary, Chinese and Korean speakers changes their production rather than perception by following the speaking rate.

  • This study was examined whether the experiential marketing factors proposed by Bernd Schmitt were applicable to the consumer behavior of active seniors. The study was analyzed the influence of SEMs have on value perception of brand and attitude formation as well as the behavioral intentions of active senior consumers and whether this effect differed between the level of commitment. For empirical analysis, frequency analysis, EFA, reliability, CFA, SEM, and multiple-group comparison analysis were performed. The results showed that sense and feel factor did not have a significant influence on the value perception of brand, while think factor had a positive effect on the value perception of brand. Act factor did not affect the value perception of brand; on the other hand, relate factor had a significant effect on the value perception of brand. The result of structural equation modeling also revealed that the value perception of brand had a positive influence on attitude formation and behavioral intentions. The result of multiple-group comparison analysis confirmed that the influence of act factor on value perception of brand differed according to the level of commitment, but the positive influence of act factor on value perception of brand was limited to the high-level of commitment group. As a result of the influence relate factor had on the value perception of brand, differences existed between the two groups, and the low-level of commitment group had a greater influence than the high-level of commitment group. So it will be effective for active senior consumers to form fashion communities and let them participate in to enhance positive consumer behavior toward fashion brands.

  • The aims of this study were to introduce cultural teaching procedures and propose cultural comparison activities as a practical method of cultural learning. It also analyzed learners' attitudes toward cultural learning through the aforementioned activities and examined considerations for holding cultural classes in the future. The research involved conducting a class underlain by four stages: warm-up, a cultural item comparison activity, wrap-up, and opinion submission. Data were collected through self-opinion journals and open-ended questionnaires, after which they were qualitatively analyzed. The results showed that the learners were highly satisfied with cultural learning through cultural comparison activities (73.7%) because of the efficiency of such a learning method, opportunities for proactive learning through interaction, increased interest and motivation, and the fact that it helps them understand their own cultures. We need to develop activities that enable learners to participate in a variety of ways through the mutual exchange of opinions when planning cultural classes. Pedagogical implications for integrated language and cultural classes are provided.

To verify research problem, the subject of this study were sixth-grade students selected from two classes of an elementary school located in Ulsan : the experimental group is composed of thirty-one students who were participated in Digital Text-book, and the other is composed of thirty students(comparison group) who were participated in teacher map based learning situation. During eight weeks, Digital Text-book instruction was executed in th experimental group while the teacher map based instruction in controled group Post-test showed following results: First, the experimental group showed a significant improvement in the science process skill compared the comparison group. Second, the experimental group did not showed a significant improvement in the Acdemic Achievement compared th the control group. Third, the experimental group showed a significant improvement in the teaching learning perception compared the comparison group. In conclusion, Digital text-book model was more effective than the teacher map based teaching model on science process skill and teaching-learning perception. However, since the study has a limit on an objet of the study and the applied curriculum, the additional studies need to be conducted with an extended comparative group and curriculum.

  • This study compares avatar-based chatting and text-based chatting. The comparison focuses on the effect of different chatting methods on user perception such as flow, social presence, and media richness. Especially the effects of avatar are examined across varying task types-work-oriented and fun-oriented. To accomplish this objective, a laboratory experiment was conducted using 80 experienced subjects. The results indicate that avatar-based chatting was more playfulness than text-based chatting in general. However, the effects of chatting methods on user perception were quite different according to the task types. There was no significant difference between avatar-based chatting and text-based chatting in the fun-oriented task, but avatar-based chatting was perceived as a more playful, focused, telepresent, and social present method in the work-oriented task.
