There are several studies in order to learn about programming language. This paper develops a peer agent system based on teaching and learning strategies in order to improve problem-solving ability. Problem-solving ability involves three components - content understanding, domain-dependent problem-solving strategies, and self-regulation. This paper shows the teaching and learning strategies about components of problem-solving for learning to program and the peer agent system uses the teaching and learning strategies. This study intents to analyze the educational effects of the peer agent system. The results show that the system has superior effects on problem-solving ability compared to traditional programming courses or pair programming courses. It means that the peer agent system is the effective educational system in improving student's problem-solving ability.

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of peer tutoring on students' achievement and learning satisfaction in a liberal computer class at university level. Traditional teaching method was applied for the control group consisting 55 students for 8 weeks. The experimental group containing 44 students was instructed using both traditional teaching method and peer tutoring. According to the results of diagnosed test, the experimental group was divided into heterogeneous ability group of 3 or 4. The tutor training was provided a week in advance of the class and the students played a role of a tutor and tutee by taking turns. The results showed no significant differences between the two groups on academic achievement; however, in terms of students' learning satisfaction, it displayed a wider range of results. The learning satisfaction data from the experimental group showed a much higher level than that of the control group. It is predicted that the amount of class hours of a week, the quality of the lecture and the application of peer tutoring affect the students' academic achievement. It is suggested that subsequent research on peer tutoring will allow for more in-depth study in this field.

The purpose of this study is to investigate social aspects of young EFL learners' interaction at the computer. Data were taken from the interactions of three pairs of fourth-grade primary school children who worked together on English learning software. Their interactions at the computer were videotaped and then all the talk produced by the students and the utterances emitted from the computer were transcribed. As for the analytical tools, the notion of ‘contextualization cues’ (Gumperz, 1982) and the concept of ‘positioning’ (Davies & Harre,1990) were employed. The analysis reveals that the roles of the students were not tied to a certain position, but rather dynamically changed during the course of interactive work according to the situation at hand. The dynamic changes in their positions were realized through various means; their capability in solving problems, their taking responsibility or assigning it to each other, or cooperation. There were also instances of peer teaching and motivated learning. In addition, the students showed autonomy in their learning activity. These findings suggest that both students in a dyad had their own place in performing task activities, contributing to solving problems and getting benefits from peer interaction. Furthermore, students' working together on English learning software may provide an environment which can promote cooperative attitude and responsibility for learning and enhance motivation and autonomy in their learning process.
In this study, new self-initiated peer tutoring is suggested to computer graphic's subject. Subject of computer graphics is practice based subject, therefore learning efficiency and learning level of students is different from each other. To improve the learning efficiency and enhance the interest of related subject, new peer tutoring activities was performed with main class in 6 months (including vacation). We analyzed the results of tutoring activities and conducted survey tutees. Results of the analysis and the survey were shown that students (tutees) are satisfied with and interested in the class of computer graphics.
The purpose of this study was to evaluate a group activity, reciprocal peer tutoring (RPT), in order to investigate advantages and challenges of RPT in promoting cooperative and collaborative learning environment for EFL University reading instruction. The participants in this study were 89 students taking an English reading course at a Korean university. RPT is a learning strategy whereby learners help each other and learn by teaching. This program was supported by a Vygotskyan perspective which assumes that learners gain mastery and develop cognitive skills through social interaction with more proficient others and their environment. This study relied particularly on participant perceptions through questionnaire survey and Anonymous Online class Report of the course. This study showed various advantages for tutors such as learning through teaching and becoming more autonomous and responsible for their own learning. Non-threatening and highly motivating learning atmosphere are parts of benefits for tutees. Other advantages for tutees included improved level of academic self-confidence, and motivation. This study also revealed several drawbacks associated with the problem of inaccuracy in students' production and students' demand for more direct teacher role. (182 words).

Peer assessment is the process of assessment of students by other students and one form of innovative assessment. It actively involves students in the assessment process and is generally agreed that such involvement enhances the quality and effectiveness of the learning process, since assessing something and benchmarking process is a powerful aid to mastering it themselves. It is more effective on the hard courses for them to understand. In this article we present a peer assessment technique which was applied to students enrolled in a mathematical statistics course and a historical course. In order to measure the effectiveness of the technique, students had to evaluate their colleagues based on predefined criteria and a comparison is presented between the instructor assessments and the peer assessment.
The purpose of this study was to develop and validate a behaviorally anchored rating scale for peer evaluation in group projects based on social interdependence theory. A mixed method involving a qualitative and quantitative approach was used in this study. In the qualitative study, both the individual and group interviews were conducted to college students regarding their cooperative learning experiences. Data from this qualitative research was analyzed based on 5 elements of cooperative learning and 'critical incidents' were extracted from students' own voices that would serve as specific rating criteria in the scale. Once the 'critical incidents' have been incorporated into the scale, validation from 3 independent experts was conducted. In the quantitative study, correlations with relevant variables were analyzed to examine the criteria-referenced validity. Findings suggest that the behaviorally anchored rating scale for peer evaluation in group projects can be used in various team-based learning contexts.

This study explored faculty professional learning community in A university. Employing a case study method, the present research conducted a survey and semi-structured interview on FLC. The FLC were designed to enhance the teaching ability by reciprocal peer coaching and developing Teaching Tips, during the semester with 5~6 faculty members of each FLC. They reported personal CQI and community paper and presented their learning process and outcomes. The present study shows that observation of their own and peer's lecture was meaningful experience led to reflective practice. Morever, peer coaches provided useful advice and good insight of education based on their practice, though the service was not professional enough. Based on the results, how to effectively foster peer coaching in FLC was discussed.
The purpose of this study is to understand in-depth the effect of self-directed practice in for core fundamental nursing skills applying reciprocal peer tutoring on the learning of nursing college students. The study participants were 15 students in the 4th grade of the department of nursing, and data were collected through in-depth interviews. The results of analysis resulted in four themes: 'motivation of learning', 'self-directed learning', 'improving achievement', and 'insufficient learning requirements'. The core fundamental nursing skills applying reciprocal peer tutoring has a positive experience of inducing motivation of learning for participants through a comfortable environment and improving self-confidence, and gaining opportunities to lead prior learning and learn in the learner's language. However, there have been experiences where additional knowledge expansion is difficult and feelings of insecurity is felt due to insufficient learning requirements. Therefore, when applying the reciprocal peer tutoring method to self-directed practice, it is considered to be effective if the professor applies a method that can sufficiently satisfy the learner's learning needs.

In modern society, the optimal physical environment is constantly changing due to IT development, and it is provided with convenience. In this age environment, the children are growing up thinking that the value of community consciousness through relationship with others is not important in the social reality in which various ways and environments that can be done by themselves are succeeding. No matter how rapidly the world changes, a diverse learning environment is needed that establishes desirable human relationships and recognizes community consciousness and values. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of general children(elementary school 4th, 5th, and 6th graders) on the communication and peer relationship of the children participating in the archery experiential learning program, to emphasize the importance of physical activity programs, and also by analyzing the relationship between communication and improvement of peer relationship and to understand the effect of the archery experiential training learning which is one of exercise program. In order to verify the research problems, 30 experimental group and 30 comparative group were composed of 4th, 5th, and 6th grade elementary schools in Gwangsan-gu, Gwangju metropolitan city.
