자발 구동형 종이 펌프를 이용한 종이 전기화학 센서 (Paper-based Electrochemical Sensor Using a Self-operated Paper Pump)

  • We developed a self-operated paper pump that can maintain a nearly constant flow rate of an aqueous solution along a paper strip channel in paper-based analytical devices (PADs). The quasi-stationary flow rate was controlled by increasing the crosssectional channel area (capillary force) using a fan-shaped absorption pad coupled with a paper strip channel. The flow rate is regulated by varying the fan angle of the circular absorbing pad. Furthermore, the flow rate can be increased by furnishing a hollow cavity at the center of a conventional paper strip channel. The rate was regulated by varying the length of the hollow paper channel in the flow rate range of 5.1-26.4 mm/min. As a preliminary work, a paper-pump-coupled PAD was fabricated, and its CV detection capability was evaluated for the redox reaction of Fe(CN)6+4/+3. The combination of a paper pump with a PAD resulted in an ideal CV curve with a higher limiting current and faster response time. These results are interpreted well by the Levich equation, which suggests that the paper pump is a very useful component in paper-based sensors.

A Study on the Correlation Analysis of the Present Status of Positive Displacement Pumps Installed in Ships

  • Various kinds of ship are operated to transport cargo or passengers at sea in the world. Most of the important auxiliary machineries installed in those ships are fluid machineries such as pumps, compressors, and fans. A large percentage of fluid machinery is pumps which are classified turbo and positive displacement pumps. This paper analyzes only positive displacement pumps. This thesis has two aims: (a) to analyze the present status of pumps installed in merchant and training ships and (b) to find the correlation among sea going pump kW, port pump kW, total pump kW, GE kW, ME MCR, number of pumps, ME kgf, pump kgf. Based on ship's type, this paper seeks to find special characteristics as a result of analyzing head, flow rate, and kW. Moreover this paper analyzes and compares number of pumps, pump kW/ME MCR, pump kW/GE kW under the conditions of seagoing and berthing according to ship's type.

Experimental study on vibration projection of seawater circulation pumps in nuclear power plant

  • In this paper, the similarity criterion and dimensionless conversion method combined with the elasticity condition and Hooke's law are used to derive the functional relationship of the maximum effective value of the vibration velocity between the prototype pump and the model pump. The seawater circulation pump of a nuclear power plant is used as the prototype pump, and the model pump is obtained by performance conversion and choosing the appropriate scale, and the vibration state of the model pump under different flow rates is measured and analyzed. The vibration data of the model pump through the function relationship to find out the vibration parameters of the prototype model pump, and compare with the vibration data of the seawater circulation pump in reality. It can be seen that with the increase of flow rate, the maximum effective value of the vibration velocity of both model and prototype decreases and then increases, and the relative error is small, the maximum value is 7.7757%. Therefore, it can be considered that the functional relationship of model pump converted to prototype pump derived in this paper can be used to analyze the vibration of the actual seawater circulation pump of coastal nuclear power plant.

This thesis has two aims: (a) to analyze the present status of pumps installed in merchant and training ships and (b) to find the correlation among sea going pump kW, port pump kW, GE kW, ME MCR, number of pumps, ME kgf, pump kgf. Based on the ship's type, my paper seeks to find special characteristics as a result of analyzing head, flow rate, and kW. Moreover this paper analyzes and compares number of pumps, rpm of pumps, pump kW/ME MCR and pump kW/GE kW under the conditions of seagoing and berthing according to the ship's type. In conclusion, (1) For the exact comparison, information on the head, kW, flow rate, number of pumps by ship's type, the pump installation status of the Merchant Ships and Training Ships were tabulated and compared in this paper. (2) In order to qualify one ship as the delegate ship, several methods were used. The result of the examination indicates that the chosen ships could be justified as a suitable representation of ships of their own type. (3) The correlation of several values(total pump kW, port pump kW, GE kW, seagoing pump kW, pump weight, ME weight, ME MCR, number of pumps and ME kW) could be obtained.

Air-Water Two-phase Flow Patterns and Pressure Distributions in a Screw-type Centrifugal Pump

  • It was reported recently that the pump head degradation near the best efficiency point from single-phase flow to the break-down due to air entrainment became less in a screw-type centrifugal pump than in a general centrifugal pump. In this paper, I carried out internal pressure measurements and visualizations, and investigated the various physical phenomena occurring inside a screw-type centrifugal pump operated in air-water two-phase flow. The results could give some characteristics about the degradation of pump performance on air-water two-phase flow.

  • A fish pump makes very important roles in an automation system of an aquaculture farm, thus it has been used widely in order to transfer fishes from one place to the other place automatically. In spite of its significant roles, the efforts for developing performance and promoting efficiency of the fish pump are not sufficient yet. In this paper, a method which makes the fish pump automation system is suggested. Automation of the fish pump can be accomplished by using variable voltage and variable frequency inverter system including induction motors. Especially, very simple logic to generate Pulse width Modulation(PWM) wave to control induction motor efficiently and three steps speed control method to regulate liquid quantity of the fish pump simply are suggested. Owing to the simplifies speed control and PWM wave generation technique, a cheaper microprocessor, 80C196KC, than a digital signal Processor(DSP) can be used to operate control algorithm in induction motor systems for real time control Also, a new idea of remote control for the simplifies novel inverter system by Programmable logic Controller(PLC) without special output unit, digital to analog converter(D/A), is suggested in this paper. Consequently the function of reliability, availability and serviceability of the fish pump system are developed. It will be expected to contribute expanding of application of the fish pump in aquaculture farms because the system can reduce energy consumption and some difficulties according to manual operation prominently.

전류 부정합을 줄인 새로운 전하 펌프 (New Charge Pump for Reducing the Current Mismatch)

  • 전하 펌프는 위상 고정 루프의 성능에 영향을 준다. 전하 펌프 설계에 있어서 전류 부정합, 전하 공유, 전하 주입, 누설 전류 등을 고려할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 기존의 고속 전하 펌프의 전류 정합성을 개선한 새로운 전하 펌프 회로를 제안하였다. 전류 부정합을 줄이기 위해 주로 사용되는 간단한 방법으로는 캐스코드를 이용하여 전하 펌프의 출력 저항을 증가시키는 방법이 있다. 그러나 캐스코드 방법을 사용하면 전하펌프의 출력 범위에 제약을 받게 되므로 전원 전압이 낮아짐에 따라 적용하기가 힘들어진다는 단점이 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 캐스코드를 적용하지 않고 연산증폭기를 사용하여 전하펌프의 출력 범위 전체에서 우수한 전류 정합 특성을 갖는 회로를 제안하였다.

A Study of Performance and Internal Flow in a New Type of Sewage Pump

  • Sewage pumps are designed with a wide flow channel by, for example, sacrificing some efficiency and reducing the number of blades, in order to prevent plugging with foreign bodies. However, the behavior of foreign bodies which actually flow into a pump is extremely complex, and there are questions about whether the presumed foreign bodies will actually pass through. This paper proposes a new type of sewage pump impeller designed to further improve pump efficiency and performance in passing foreign bodies. This sewage pump impeller has a structure in which the suction flow channel of a closed type non-clog pump is wound in a helical spiral. The focus of this research was to investigate pump performance and internal flow in this single blade sewage pump impeller. The results clearly indicated the following facts: The developed sewage pump impeller exhibits high efficiency over a wide range of flow rates; internal flow of the pump is very complicated; and the internal flow state varies greatly when the flow rate changes.

대체에너지 사용시 공업용수 순환 개선을 위한 연구 (Study of industrial water calculation improvement by use Alternative Energy)

  • 이 논문은 1년에 몇 일 혹은 몇 시간 동안 만 최대 에너지가 공급된다. 그러므로 일반적인 경우에는 대부분 최대 에너지의 50%나 이보다 적은 양의 에너지를 얻게 된다. 이런 작은량의 에너지가 공급되는 Alternative Energy system (P. Voltac System)하에서 용수공급을 위해 기존의 Centrifugal pump를 사용 할 때와 Screw type pump를 사용할 때 공급된 용수량을 비교하였다. 연구 결과 Screw type pump 사용 시 alternative Energy system의 높이에 상관없이 단지 Screw type pump의 speed에 영향을 받으며 낮은 Energy 하 에서도 비교적 높은 효율을 낸다는 것을 실험적으로 비교 검토 하였다.
