  • Grape weeding work requires Ergonomics improvement, because it performs motion likely to cause Musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) repeatedly and continuously. The object of this study was to reject workload in Grape weeding works raised MSDs with the Moving Rail-chair and Electromotive Scissors. As objective method of analysis, we used heart rate, EMG, RULA, REBA. As subjective method of analysis, we used questionnaire that indicate lethargy area of body, pain of muscle and bone. As a result, working with Moving Rail-Chair and Electromotive Scissors is lower heart rate and EMG than typical working. Also for the subjective evaluation, reducing of neck and shoulder movement makes improve workload.

Method : We focused on Chuna therapy accompanied with acupuncture, herbal medicine, moxibustion, cupping treatment and rehabilitation exercise. This case was assessed using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), Pain Free Walking Distance (PFWD), Berg Balance Scale (BBS), and Modified Barthel Index (MBI). Result : This patient showed improvement on the VAS from 6 to 3, PFWD from 0 m to 2000 m using a walker and 50 m by self-walking, BBS from 2 to 28, and MBI from 56 to 89. Moreover the walking state improved from gait disturbance to self-walking. Conclusion : This study suggests that Chuna therapy could be used to improve gait disturbance in patients with osteoporosis and lower limb fracture surgery.

Owing to irreversible and progressive nature of the disease and limitations of conventional treatment, many patients look for an alternative solution. Here, we report data of 250 well diagnosed cases of acute recurring/ chronic pancreatitis, enrolled in between January 1997 to August 2016, in our Ayurvedic clinical practice in Northern part of India. Ayurveda is well recognized as an independent medical system parallel to conventional medicines in India and a subject is free to opt for any system of medicine for the prevention and treatment of any ailment. The subjects were treated with a complex herbo-mineral formulation based on the principles of Rasa Shastra in Ayurveda that deals with the therapeutics of processed metals in the prevention and treatment of diseases. They were also prescribed a regulated balanced diet and lifestyle. Significant improvement has been noted in subjects who have completed the treatment.

  • Recently, meniscal allograft transplantation has been regarded as a successful procedure in terms of pain relief and functional improvement for the symptomatic patients previously underwent subtotal or total meniscectomy. However, the likelihood of a successful outcome would be reduced by various complications including graft tear, shrinkage, extrusion, infection, progressive chondral injury, and granuloma due to nonabsorbable suture material. Therefore, knee surgeons need to be all aware of the complications and to make an effort to minimize them. The purpose of this article is to review the current literatures regarding clinical results and complications after meniscus allograft transplantation.

Methods: During the admission period, the patient was treated with acupuncture, cupping, Korean Medicine, Chuna therapy and FCST (Functional Cerebrospinal Therapy) every day. And we observed patient's condition by Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), Pain Disability Index (PDI), EQ-5D-5L (Five-level EuroQol-5 dimensions), and assessment about range of motion(ROM) for temporomandibular joint and cervix. Results: After treated for 4 weeks, the patient's NRS, PDI, EQ-5D-5L and ROM were improved. Conclusions: Korean Medical treatments including FCST are estimated to be effective for patients with TMD. But the case was only one, so more cases and further research is needed to prove the effectiveness of the treatment.

  • Brown-Sequard syndrome may be the result of penetrating injury to the spine, but many other etiologies have been described. This syndrome is most commonly seen with spinal trauma and extramedullary spinal neoplasm. A herniated cervical disc has been rarely reported as a cause of this syndrome. We present a case of a 28-year-old male patient diagnosed as large C3-C4 disc herniation with spinal cord compression. He presented with left hemiparesis and diminished sensation to pain and temperature in the right side below the C4 dermatome. Microdiscectomy and anterior cervical fusion with carbon fiber cage containing a core of granulated coralline hydroxyapatite was performed. After the surgery, rapid improvement of the neurologic deficits was noticed. We present a case of cervical disc herniation producing acute Brown-Sequard syndrome with review of pertinent literature.

Methods : Two patients were treated by acupuncture therapy with chuna therapy at pelvic. We evaluated the effectiveness by numerical rating scale (NRS) and Oswestry Disability Index(ODI). Results : Both patients improved significantly NRS score and ODI score. And both patients' symptoms were alleviated. Iliolumbar ligament stress test was changed from positive to negative. Conclusions : We conclude that acupuncture therapy with chuna therapy at pelvic is an effective treatment to reduce the iliolumbar ligament originated pain. But there is a limit on this study due to sufficient number of cases. Further studies will be needed.
