This study aimed to examine the coping, self-disclosure, rumination, organizational culture and degree of Posttraumatic Growth(PTG) of firefighters who experienced trauma, and to identify the factors that influence PTG. Data collection was conducted for 103 firefighters working at three fire departments located in Gyeongsang-do. As a result of the study, 46(44.7%) PTGs of medium to high level averaged 58.07 points, and the total PTG average was 44.56 points. The influenced factors affecting PTG in firefighters were emotional-focused coping(EFC), self-disclosure(SD), deliberate rumination(DR) and innovative-oriented culture(IOC).The explanatory power of these factors PTG was 45.9%. In order to promote the firefighters 'PTG, it is necessary to approach of EFC, SE, and DR but also an organizational aspect as well as IOC construction, and these results can be used as an arbitration plan to improve the firefighters' PTG.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the factors impacting the posttraumatic growth (PTG) factors during chemotherapy in gynecologic oncology patients. Method: The data were collected at six hospitals at a university hospital, general hospital, women's hospital, and 3 oncology hospitals in D metropolitan city. The participants of the study were 135 female patients undergoing chemotherapy for their gynecologic oncology. To identify the factors that influence PTG, we used the questionnaires for the family support, sexual distress, health promoting behavior, and PTG. Results: There was a significant positive correlation between family support and health promoting behavior and PTG. There was significant negative correlation between sexual distress and PTG. Factors impacting the PTG of gynecologic oncology women undergoing chemotherapy were age, recurrence, family support, sexual distress, and health promoting behavior. These factors accounted for 47.0% of PTG. Conclusion: It is necessary to develop and apply programs that include sexual distress management education, and health promotion with families. PTG programs for gynecologic oncology patients undergoing chemotherapy should be approached considering these results.
This study was conducted to determine the optimum hydroponic system and nutrient solution for promoting the growth and flowering of hydroponically grown carnation. DFT (deep flow technique) and NFT (nutrient film technique) systems were employed and four kinds of nutrient solution, which are Cooper solution, Yamasaki solution, balanced nutrient solution by Japanese Horticultural Experiment Station and PTG solution in the Netherlands were used and compared. pH was lowest in the PTG solution compared to the other nutrient solutions used. Plant height was highest in the DFT system in the plot of PTG solution as of 53.0 cm at 88 days after transplanting, while lowest in NFT system with Cooper solution. Stem diameter was more thickened in NFT system with PTG solution as of 7.2 mm at 88 days after transplanting. Days to flowering was shortened to 122.3 days in NFT system when PTG solution was used. This results suggested a combination of NFT system with PTG solution as optimum hydroponic system and nutrient solution for cut carnation production. Further trials as to the management of nutrient solution by glowing stages should be followed.

Breast cancer (BC) is potentially a traumatic stressor which may be associated with negative outcomes, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or positive changes, such as post-traumatic growth (PTG). This study aims to identify the core issues of BC related PTSD, PTG and psychological distress by interrogating the literature in BC survivors. We have also highlighted issues related to the assessment, diagnosis and clinical management of PTSD and PTG. The authors systematically reviewed studies published from 1985 to 2014 pertaining to PTSD, psychological distress and PTG in BC survivors with particular attention paid to incidence rates and causative factors. Multiple studies intimated that women with BC have evidence of PTSD at the initial stages of diagnosis, whereas PTG develops once patients undergo treatment. Early diagnosis and treatment of PTSD/PTG is paramount from literature review but the previously mentioned relationship between PTSD and PTG in BC patients could not be verified. It is evident from the literature that a small percentage of BC patients experience PTSD, while the majority experience PTG after BC diagnosis and treatment. Future research should include prospective studies focusing on high-risk patients, causative factors and the development of psychological interventions.
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the influencing factors on Posttraumatic Growth(PTG) in patients with colorectal cancer. Methods: Eighty patients who were diagnosed with colorectal cancer at least twelve months ago were recruited from the oncology outpatient clinic of university hospital in Y city. Participants completed four survey questionnaires: Korean versions of PTG Index, Korean versions of Cancer Coping Questionnaire, Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, and a Resilience Scale. The data were analyzed by ANOVA, Pearson-correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis. Results: The mean score of PTG in these patients was 51.16 indicating relatively high growth. Posttraumatic Growth had significant correlations with coping, social support, and resiliency. In addition to the variables of age and education that are found to be associated with the PTG, the PTG was significantly influenced by resilience, coping, and importance of religion. Forty-nine percent of the variations in the PTG were explained by these three variables. Conclusion: The identified factors influencing colorectal cancer related to PTG could be considered in developing nursing interventions to promote positive psychological changes in response to adversity which colorectal cancer survivors might experience.
The purpose of this study was to find out correlation and predictors of posttraumatic growth of North Korean refugees in South Korea in 7years. This survey was conducted on 105 North Korean refugees in 7 years with questions on socio-demographic characteristics, personal & social variables, psychological trauma in North Korea and stress experience in South Korea. The influence of these variables was analysed. Result indicated that hope for future, perceived satisfaction, and acculturative stress had influence on the total quality of life in the South. And total quality of life affected PTG, especially emotional factors of quality of life during the early 3years living in the South affected PTG.. Additionally not only emotional but also social factors of quality of life also affected PTG with North Korean refugees in the South in 7 years. Finally, social and mental health service programs for North Krean refugees was discussed.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to construct and test a structural model for the Post-traumatic Growth (PTG) of police officers. The conceptual model is based on Calhoun and Tedeschi's PTG theory. Methods: Data were collected from 269 police officers working at 10 police stations in Seoul from September 26 to October 9, 2017. The exogenous variable was traumatic experiences, and endogenous variables were pain perception, self disclosure, social support, deliberate rumination, and PTG. The collected data were analyzed in order to calculate the direct and indirect effects of factors affecting PTG using SPSS/WIN 23.0 and AMOS 21.0. Results: The hypothetical model showed a good fit to the data: 𝑥2/df=2.57, GFI=.90, CFI=.95, TLI=.91, RMSEA=.07, SRMR=.07. The hypothetical model showed a similar result with the data, and out of 10 paths, 7 were statistically significant. The model explained 36% of the variance in the PTG of police officers. The model confirmed that social support and deliberate rumination had a direct effect, and that self-disclosure had an indirect effect on police officers' PTG. Conclusion: Nursing intervention programs to increase PTG of police officers should focus on deliberate rumination, social support, and self-disclosure. In addition, they should be accompanied by various crisis managements and consultations that can promote PTG.

Buildability of fresh concrete, a key element of Concrete 3D printing, is the ability to build filaments at a desirable height without excessive deformation or collapse. Buildability is closely related to yield stress, and the higher the yield stress, the better. Also, the shear stress of fresh concrete increases as it hardens over the time after extruded, and consequently the buildability increases. Therefore, in concrete 3D printing, proper time gaps between printed layers (Printing Time Gap, PTG) are required to ensure the buildability of fresh concrete. As the PTG increases, the buildability increases; however, an excessive PTG reduces the bond performance between the printed layers, and the extrudability can be lowered as the printing time increases. In this research, therefore, 3D printing experiments were conducted with the variable of PTG to examine the buildability of 100 MPa-high strength concrete. In addition, a pseudo-layer loading method was applied to simulate the buildability test for 3D concrete printing and its applicability was examined.

Purpose: This study was conducted to identify the factors influencing the posttraumatic growth (PTG) in patients with lung cancer and to provide basic data for nursing intervention development to improve PTG and adaptation. Methods: The study included 126 non-small cell lung cancer patients initially diagnosed at the Lung Cancer Center, C University Hospital in S city, Gyeonggi-do. Patients were asked to complete a questionnaire consisting of demographic characteristics, disease characteristics, posttraumatic growth, cancer coping, social support, and resilience. Data were analyzed using t-tests, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis. Results: The mean score for PTG in lung cancer patients was 56.39, cancer coping was 61.31, social support was 61.09, and resilience was 92.77. Significant positive correlations were found for PTG and cancer coping (r=.75, p<.001), social support (r=.52, p<.001) and resilience (r=.63, p<.001). Factors contributing to PTG of lung cancer patients were cancer coping (β=.53 p<.001), perceived health status(β=.20, p=.002), resilience (β=.21, p=.010) and importance of religion (β=.15, p=.013). This model explained about 64.0% of variances of PTG (F=29.58, p<.001). Conclusion: It is necessary to develop new nursing intervention programs to improve PTG for patients with lung cancer based on strategies to enhance coping and resilience to recovery. Longitudinal studies examining temporal changes in PTG among patients with lung cancer are suggested for future studies in this regard.
The present study examined patterns of co-occurrence between DSM-5 posttraumatic stress disorder(PTSD) symptoms and posttraumatic growth(PTG) among Korean populations(n= 860). Latent profile analysis was used to identify subclasses and suggested that the 3-class model fit best: (1) Low PTSD/Mild PTG group (2) Low PTSD/High PTG group; (3) High PTSD/High PTG group. Class membership was predicted by demographic variables, social isolation, and frequency of traumatic experiences. Classes also differed with respect to self-destructive behaviors(binge eating, non-suicidal self-injury, and problem drinking). These findings contribute to future research about the coexisting patterns of PTSD and PTG, and to identify high-risk individuals who suffer from trauma-related problems in clinical practice.
