  • This paper describes speed controller of a induction motor for electric vehicles using PLL and Fuzzy logic. The proposed system is combined precise speed control of PLL and robust, fast speed control of Fuzzy logic. The motor speed is adaptively incremented or decremented toward the PLL locking range by the Fuzzy logic using information of sampled speed errors and then is maintained accurately by PLL. The results of experiment show excellence of proposed system and that the proposed system is appropriates to control the speed of induction motor for electric vehicles.

  • A phase lock loop (PLL) circuit is a wellknown electronic circuit in communication engineering and other areas. In this paper, we present application of the PLL and fuzzy logic for DC motor control which are mixed well to be more effective for motor control. With this scheme, the control system can reach the set point rapidly, especially, it can eliminate noises. In addition, the PLL makes the system to have more stability; whereas, fuzzy logic controls helping PLL to be able to lock rapidly for a good response. The experiment result shows that the proposed control system works more efficacious. By performance comparison between the pure PLL control and the hybrid architecture of PLL with the fuzzy control, the result reveals the hybrid control ...

  • This paper proposes the fuzzy-PLL control system for fast response time and precision control of automation systems. The conventional PLL has not only a jitter noise caused from such a demerit of the wide dead zone, but also a long delay interval that makes a high speed operation unable. In order to solve the problems, the proposed system, which provides the improvement in terms of the control region in high speed and precision control, first used the fuzzy control method for fast response time and when the error reaches the preset value, used the PLL method designing new PFD for precision control. The new designed multi-PFD improves the dead zone, jitter noise and response characteristics, which is consists of P-PFD(Positive edge triggered PFD) and N-PFD(Negative edge triggered PFD) and can improve response characteristics to increase PFD gain.

  • This paper proposes a double-phase-locked-loop (PLL) to improve the performance of position estimation in hall sensor-based permanent magnet synchronous motor control. In hall sensor-based control, a PLL is normally used to estimate the rotor position. The proposed Double-PLL consists of two PLLs, including a reset type integrator. The motor control is more accurate and has better performance than conventional PLL, such as a small estimated position ripple. The validity of the proposed algorithm is verified by simulations and experiments.

  • This paper presents a PLL(Phase Lock Loop) approach for effective speed and torque control of high speed miniature BLDCM(Brushless DC Motor) using hall sensor. The proposed speed control method based on PLL uses only a phase shift between reference pulse signal according to speed reference and actual pulse signal from hall sensor. It doesn't use any speed calculation, and calculates a direct current reference from phase shift. The current reference is changed to reduce the phase shift between reference and actual pulse. So the actual speed can keep the reference speed. The proposed control scheme is very simple but effective speed control is possible. In order to obtain a smooth torque production, the reference current is changed using acceleration and deceleration slope. The proposed control scheme is verified by experimental results of the 50W, 40,000[rpm] high speed miniature BLDCM.

  • In this paper, an adaptive neural phase-locked loop (AN-PLL) based on adaptive linear neuron is proposed for grid-connected doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) synchronization. The proposed AN-PLL architecture comprises three stages, namely, the frequency of polluted and distorted grid voltages is tracked online; the grid voltages are filtered, and the voltage vector amplitude is detected; the phase angle is estimated. First, the AN-PLL architecture is implemented and applied to a real three-phase power supply. Thereafter, the performances and robustness of the new AN-PLL under voltage sag and two-phase faults are compared with those of conventional PLL. Finally, an application of the suggested AN-PLL in the grid-connected DFIG-decoupled control strategy is conducted. Experimental results prove the good performances of the new AN-PLL in grid-connected DFIG synchronization.

  • Grid codes for grid-connected inverters are essential considerations for bulk grid systems. In particular, a low-voltage ride-through (LVRT) function, which can contribute to the grid system's stabilization with the occurrence of voltage sag, is required by such inverters. However, when the grid voltage is under zero-voltage condition due to a grid accident, a zero-voltage ride-through (ZVRT) function is required. Grid-connected inverters typically have phase-locked loop (PLL) control to synchronize the phase of the grid voltage with that of the inverter output. In this study, the LVRT regulations of Germany, the United States, and Japan are analyzed. Then, three major PLL methods of grid-connected single-phase inverters, namely, notch filter-PLL, dq-PLL using an active power filter, and second-order generalized integrator-PLL, are reviewed. The proposed PLL method, which controls inverter output under ZVRT condition, is suggested. The proposed PLL operates better than the three major PLL methods under ZVRT condition in the simulation and experimental tests.

  • In this paper, a triple controlled type DDFS-driven PLL frequency synthesizer with reduced complexity is used to show its applications for broadband wireless communication systems by frequency synthesis control. Since the proposed DDFS-driven PLL synthesizer is very simplified to use only phase accumulator in DDFS, it improves the switching speed and power consumption than the conventional DDFS-driven PLL frequency synthesizer. It is appropriate for applications with requirements of broadband, low-power consumption and high switching speed, since the proposed synthesizer can cover a wide range of frequency bands by the triple frequency control parameters. Method and results of frequency control parameters assignment are shown for the several frequency bands applications such as GSM, IMT-2000, Bluetooth and PCS system.

  • This paper presents the sensorless position control of the Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) using stator flux estimation and Phase Lock Loop (PLL). The field current and the torque current are required in order to perform the vector control of the PMSM. At this time, it is necessary for the torque to know the exact position of the magnetic flux generated by the permanent magnet, because the torque must be applied torque current in the direction orthogonal to the permanent magnet. In general the speed of the PMSM is controlled by using a magnetic position sensor. However, this paper, we estimates the stator flux by using the PLL method without the magnetic position sensor. This method is simple and easy, in addition it has the advantage of a stabile estimation of the rotor. Finally the proposed algorithm was confirmed by experimental results and showed the good performance.
