  • Purpose: In this study, we sought to understand the risk factor for chronic disease of workers by studying the association between occupational standing time and metabolic syndrome(MetS) in full-time 300 male workers. Materials: Data on age, life habit, work related information of the subjects were surveyed using self-reported questionnaire and interview. MetS was identified based on the report of Alberti et al.(2009). As for the data analysis, SPSS 19.0 was used to conduct the descriptive statistic, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple logistic regression analysis. Results: Daily working hour affects on the lifting heavy objects, running and strenuous exercise(r=-0.137, p<0.01), and total physical function decreased with the increase in age(r=-0.145, p<0.01). Also, obese was significantly associated with genuflection and bend over(r=-0.110, p<0.05). On multiple logistic regression analysis for the diagnostic indices of MetS, occupational standing time were significantly associated with waist circumference(odds ratio=0.885, ${\beta}$ value=-0.122, 95% CI=0.797-0.983, p<0.05) and triglyceride (odds ratio=0.873, ${\beta}$ value=-0.136, 95% CI=0.800-0.953, p<0.01). Conclusions: These results suggest that the working posture may be important risk factor in pathogenesis and growing of MetS and cardiovascular disease.

  • We say that an isometric immersed hypersurface x : $M^n\;{\rightarrow}\;{\mathbb{R}}^{n+1}$ is of $L_k$-finite type ($L_k$-f.t.) if $x\;=\;{\sum}^p_{i=0}x_i$ for some positive integer p < $\infty$, $x_i$ : $M{\rightarrow}{\mathbb{R}}^{n+1}$ is smooth and $L_kx_i={\lambda}_ix_i$, ${\lambda}_i\;{\in}\;{\mathbb{R}}$, $0{\leq}i{\leq}p$, $L_kf=trP_k\;{\circ}\;{\nabla}^2f$ for $f\;{\in}\'C^{\infty}(M)$, where $P_k$ is the kth Newton transformation, ${\nabla}^2f$ is the Hessian of f, $L_kx\;=\;(L_kx^1,\;{\ldots},\;L_kx^{n+1})$, $x=(x^1,\;{\ldots},\;x^{n+1})$. In this article we study the following(hyper)surfaces in ${\mathbb{R}}^{n+1}$ from the view point of $L_1$-finiteness type: totally umbilic ones, generalized cylinders $S^m(r){\times}{\mathbb{R}}^{n-m}$, ruled surfaces in ${\mathbb{R}}^{n+1}$ and some revolution surfaces in ${\mathbb{R}}^3$.

  • In this short note we study the torsion theories over a commutative ring R and discuss a relative dimension related to such theories for R-modules. Let ${\sigma}$ be a torsion functor and (T, F) be its corresponding partition of Spec(R). The concept of ${\sigma}$-Cohen Macaulay (abbr. ${\sigma}$-CM) module is defined and some of the main points concerning the usual Cohen-Macaulay modules are extended. In particular it is shown that if M is a non-zero ${\sigma}$-CM module over R and S is a multiplicatively closed subset of R such that, for all minimal element of T, $S{\cap}p={\emptyset}$, then $S^{-1}M$ is a $S^{-1}{\sigma}$-CM module over $S^{-1}$R, where $S^{-1}{\sigma}$ is the direct image of ${\sigma}$ under the natural ring homomorphism $R{\longrightarrow}S^{-1}R$.

  • This study was attempted to confirm the effects of learning flow, academic stress, and resilience on self-efficacy in college students. This study targeted 304 university students in B and G cities. Data analysis was analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS 22.0 program. The average self-efficacy of the subjects was 3.14±0.62 points, and the difference in self-efficacy according to general characteristics was significant in gender(t=-2.533, p=.012) and satisfaction with major(F=5.687, p=.004). Self-efficacy of the subjects was positive correlation with learning flow(r=.574, p<.001), resilience(r=.525, p<.001), and negative correlation with academic stress(r=-.262, p<.001). Resilience of the subjects showed positive correlation with learning flow(r=.325, p<.001) and negative correlation with academic stress(r=-.291, p<.001). Learning flow showed negative correlation with academic stress(r=-.211, p<.001). Factors influencing the self-efficacy of the subjects were identified as academic commitment (β=.442, p<.001) and resilience (β=.363, p<.001) and the explanatory power was 45.6%. Therefore, in order to improve college students' self-efficacy, it is necessary to develop and apply education and programs that can improve learning flow and resilience.

  • Let $R\;{\in}\;C^{m{\times}m}$ and $S\;{\in}\;C^{n{\times}n}$ be nontrivial unitary involutions, i.e., $R^*\;=\;R\;=\;R^{-1}\;{\neq}\;I_m$ and $S^*\;=\;S\;=\;S^{-1}\;{\neq}\;I_m$. We say that $G\;{\in}\;C^{m{\times}n}$ is a generalized reflexive matrix if RGS = G. The set of all m ${\times}$ n generalized reflexive matrices is denoted by $GRC^{m{\times}n}$. In this paper, an efficient method for the least squares solution $X\;{\in}\;GRC^{m{\times}n}$ of the matrix equation AXB = D with arbitrary coefficient matrices $A\;{\in}\;C^{p{\times}m}$, $B\;{\in}\;C^{n{\times}q}$and the right-hand side $D\;{\in}\;C^{p{\times}q}$ is developed based on the canonical correlation decomposition(CCD) and, an explicit formula for the general solution is presented.

  • Ginseng (Panax genus) is one of the most medicinally important genera and consists of highly regarded medicines. Among the species of Panax, the ginseng species is widely known to have most medicinal quality. P. ginseng has 3 varieties, Jakyung, Chunggyung and Hwangsook, discovered in nature with different colors of stem and fruit, Jakyung has two cultivars, Yunpoong and Chunpoong. Rigorous phylogenetic analysis of these varieties and cultivars has been conducted with sequencing of rDNA region. The sequences of ITS1, ITS2 of every varieties and cultivars within P. ginseng were identical. The sequence of 5.8S rDNAs of Hwangsook variety were different from the sequences of 5.8S rDNAs of others by only one base pair at nucleotide position 14. In phylogenetic analysis and predicted RNA secondary structure study, it is assumed that evolution has proceeded from Hwangsook to other varieties. recently.
