Relationship Between Organizational Communication Satisfaction and Organizational Commitment among Hospital Nurses (병원간호사의 의사소통 만족 수준이 조직몰입에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study was done to analyze the relationship between organizational communication satisfaction and organizational commitment among hospital nurses. Method: A survey was conducted with 647 nurses who were working in 24 hospitals in Korea. Data were collected during August 2010. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple regression. Results: The mean level of organizational communication satisfaction was 3.15 (min 1.88 -max 4.88) and the mean level of organizational commitment was 3.21 (min 1.33 - max 4.83). There was a statistically significant correlation between organizational communication satisfaction and organizational commitment (r=. 655). According to analysis of the impact of the subconstructions of organizational communication satisfaction on organizational commitment, the following factors had significant influence on organizational communication satisfaction: vertical communication, communication media, and organizational climate. Conclusion: These findings showed that communication satisfaction was the most important factor for nurses' organizational commitment. Therefore, there is a need to develop communication strategies and skills for hospital nurses to increase the level of communication satisfaction.

Influence of organizational communication satisfaction on job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and turnover intention : Focused on the mediated effects of interpersonal stress (치과위생사의 조직 커뮤니케이션 만족이 직무만족, 조직몰입, 이직의도에 미치는 영향: 대인관계 스트레스 매개효과를 중심으로)

  • Objectives: The purpose of the study was to investigate the influence of organizational communication satisfaction on the job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and turnover intention in the dental hygienists. Methods: A self-reported questionnaire was completed by 227 dental hygienists in Chungnam. The questionnaire consisted of 4 questions of general characteristics of the subjects, 8 questions of interpersonal stress, 12 questions of organizational communication satisfaction, 5 questions of job satisfaction, 5 questions of organizational commitment, and 5 questions of turnover intention. The four variables were measured by Likert 7 point scale. Data were analyzed using SPSS version 18.0 for frequency analysis, t test, one way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise regression analysis. Sobel test was used to verify the mediating effects. Results: The interpersonal stress was proportional to turnover intention and inversely proportional to the organizational communication satisfaction, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment(p<0.01). The organizational communication satisfaction was proportional to the job satisfaction and organizational commitment, and inversely proportional to turnover intention(p<0.01). The interpersonal stress had a meditating effect between organizational communication satisfaction, and job satisfaction. It also gave the mediating effect between organizational communication satisfaction and organizational commitment. Conclusions: The effective organization management system can enhance the job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and turnover intention reduction in the dental hygienists.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between organizational communication satisfaction and organizational conflict for nurses. The research design was correlational survey. Two hundred three nurses recruited from 3 general hospitals in D city. The data collected were analyzed with SPSS/win 18.0 using descriptive methods, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient, multiple regression. The result of this study reported middle levels of organizational communication satisfaction and middle levels of organizational conflict. There were significant positive correlation for organizational communication satisfaction and organizational conflict in the nurses. Significant factors influencing organizational conflict were organizational climate, media quality and personal feedback. Organizational conflict and organizational communication satisfaction management is very important. Based on the study, recommend the following : It is needed that repeat studies and consider to development and education program of the organizational communication satisfaction for nurses in hospital setting.

A Study on Teacher' Perception of Organizational Communication, Conflict, Commitment in Child Care Center (보육시설 조직커뮤니케이션과 갈등, 몰입에 관한 연구)

  • This purpose of this study was to understand how organizational communication affects organizational conflict and commitment. This study was based on a questionnaire survey of 238 teachers working in kindergartens and childcare centers in all parts of Korea except Jeju-do. This research used the following tools: the organizational communication scale, the organizational conflict scale, and the organizational commitment scale. The results were as follows: First, satisfaction with organizational communication showed statistically significant effects(${\beta}$ = -.529, p < .001) on organizational conflict. Secondly, organizational conflict had a negative correlation(${\beta}$ = -.398, p < .001) with organizational competence. Third, organizational conflict had a moderating effect between organizational communication satisfaction and the organizational commitment. Fourth, communication satisfaction had a moderating effect between organizational conflict and organizational commitment.

  • Purpose- The purpose of this study is to give implications on how to decrease employee turnover intention of Korean information and communication industry employees using organization culture, job satisfaction and organizational commitment. To do that this study analyzes relationships among variables and analyses mediating effect of job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Research design, data, and methodology- To analyze relationships among organization culture, job satisfaction, organizational commitment and turnover intention of employees, this study used the 7th KRIVET's HCCP employee data especially employees working in the information and communication industry who has more than university degree education. The analysis is conducted by using SPSS 21 and frequency analysis correlation analysis, regression analysis and mediating effect are analyzed by using MACRO PROCESS procedure for SPSS. Result- According to the empirical results, organization culture of innovation, relation and rational directed significantly affect both job satisfaction and organizational commitment. And job satisfaction and organizational commitment significantly affect each other. Turnover intention is significantly affected by job satisfaction, organizational commitment, innovation directed and hierarchy directed. However, the influence of innovation and hierarchy showed conflicting results. Conclusion- Based on this study result, implications to manage the turnover intention of Korean employees in the information and communication industry are discussed. Especially, the effect of organization culture, job satisfaction and organizational commitment is discussed. And the mediating role of job satisfaction and organizational commitment is also analyzed. Result implicates that cautious approach is needed in managing organization culture to employee attitude of job and organization is needed

Relationship Between Intra-Organizational Communication Satisfaction and Safety Attitude of Nurses (간호사의 조직 의사소통 만족과 환자안전에 대한 태도와의 관계)

  • Purpose: Communication in hospitals is one of the major factors in patient safety. So, the purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between intra-organizational communication satisfaction and the safety attitude of nurses in hospitals. Method: A descriptive survey design with convenience sampling was used. Data collection was done using a self-report questionnaire answered by 278 nurses from one university hospital located in Kyeoung-gi Province, Korea. Result: Intra-organizational communication satisfaction positively correlated with safety attitude (r=.747, p<.01). Among the 6 sub dimensions of safety attitude, perceptions of management (r=.675, p<.01), job satisfaction (r=.640, p<.01) and teamwork climate (r=.600. p<.01) were strongly related to intra-organizational communication satisfaction. Multiple regression analysis was done to identify explanation power of intra-organizational communication satisfaction against safety attitude. The model was significant (F=48.540, p<.01). Intra-organizational communication satisfaction accounted for 60.9% of variance in safety attitude (Adj $R^2$=.609). Conclusions: The results of this study indicate that higher levels of intra-organizational communication satisfaction promote positive safety attitude in hospital nurses and that communication media quality is an important factor in patient safety attitude. Therefore, developing interventions to revitalize intra-organizational communication level based on communication media quality will help in the construction of positive safety attitude in nurses.

The Impact of Perceived Positive Nursing Organizational Culture and Organizational Communication Satisfaction on Work Engagement among Nurses in Tertiary Hospitals (상급종합병원 간호사가 지각한 긍정 간호조직문화와 조직 커뮤니케이션 만족이 직무열의에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: This study aimed to examine the relationships between positive nursing organizational culture, organizational communication satisfaction, and the level of work engagement among nurses working in tertiary hospitals, as well as to identify influencing factors on work engagement. Methods: This study used a descriptive research design. Data were collected from 184 general nurses working in four tertiary hospitals in Seoul using self-report questionnaires from March 13 to 30, 2023. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffé test, Pearson correlation, and hierarchical regression. Results: In the hierarchical regression analysis, the variables that significantly influenced work engagement in Model 1 were marital status (β=.26, p=.002), graduate or higher degree (β=.41, p<.001), more than 1 year and less than 3 years (β=.18, p=.030) and 3 years or more but less than 5 years of clinical experience in present hospital (β=.17, p=.023), and satisfaction (β=.27, p=.002) and moderate satisfaction with pay (β=.18, p=.033). In model 2, adding the subdomains of positive nursing organizational culture and organizational communication satisfaction to the Model 1, the variables that had a significant effect on work engagement were trust-based organizational relationships (β=.50, p<.001) and organizational communication satisfaction (β=.25, p=.005). Conclusion: The results suggest that education level, clinical experience, and satisfaction with pay should be considered to improve nurses' work engagement. In addition, it was identified that organizational relationship based on trust and organizational communication satisfaction are the main influencing factors for improving work engagement.

The effects of salesperson's self-determination, shared value, and communication satisfaction on job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and turnover intention in fashion companies (패션업체 판매원의 자기결정성, 공유가치 및 커뮤니케이션 만족이 직무만족, 조직몰입 및 이직의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to empirically examine the effects of salespeople's self-determination, shared value; and communication satisfaction on their job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and turnover intention in a fashion company. Questionnaires were administered to 475 salespeople who worked in fashion shop at the time of the study. The data was analyzed via factor analysis, correlation analysis, and a structural equation model. The results indicated that self-determination was extracted as autonomy, competence, and relatedness. Only the relatedness of self-determination factors was positively correlated with formal and informal communication satisfaction. In addition, recognizing hared value was positively correlated with formal and informal communication satisfaction; whereas, the practice of shared value was positively correlated with formal, but not informal communication satisfaction. Formal communication satisfaction was significantly correlated with job satisfaction and organizational commitment. Conversely, informal communication satisfaction was significantly correlated with job satisfaction, but was not related to organizational commitment. Finally, job satisfaction was significantly correlated with organizational commitment and negatively correlated with turnover intention. Moreover, organizational commitment was negatively correlated with turnover intention. The implications of this research for human resources management within fashion companies are discussed in the concluding section of this paper.

  • Purpose - Once individuals in an organization don't comprehend with each other's culture and their interaction context differ, there is a bigger danger of poor communication in the organizations. Therefore, people must have a sufficiently comparable interpretation of data, communicative acts and the office itself. For this reason, the purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between organizational culture and employee communication. Research design, Data, and methodology - The present researcher used categorization matrix development to review data for content. Additionally, the present researcher coded the data to correspond with the identified categories. The role of the categorization matrix is to ensure that the categories hardly represent the concepts and thus validating the findings of the study. Result - The findings from prior resources shows that the role of organizational culture on employee communication satisfaction is a pertinent issue that must be addressed and analyzed to help organizations make the desired profits and productivity. This study provides five solutions between organizational culture and employee communication satisfaction. Conclusion - This study concludes that every employee performs well where they think they are being appreciated and their efforts are rewarded. On the other hand, different organizations have instilled different organizational cultures to ensure they promote the level of satisfaction of their employees in order to yield them an improved employee performance and overall organizational performance.

  • This study investigated the role of organizational communication, culture and trust as a moderator of the organizational performance(the growth of production and quality improvement) and job satisfaction. Using data collected from 248 workers at 128 establishments in Changwon industrial complex, morderated regression analyses explored the proposed model. As a result, communication activity and organizational trust was found negatively to moderate the relationship between job satisfaction and quality improvement/the growth of production. And organizational culture was found positively to moderate the relationship between satisfaction and quality improvement. Implications of these findings were discussed.
