위성영상 해상도에 따른 순천만 해안습지의 분류 정확도 변화 (The change of land cover classification accuracies according to spatial resolution in case of Sunchon bay coastal wetland)

  • 공간상의 지리현상은 축척에 따라 공간적 분포패턴이 다르게 표현되고 측정될 수 있다. 특정한 지리현상은 특정한 축척에서 보다 선명하게 관찰될 수 있다. 지표면의 정보를 담고 있는 위성영상 역시 공간해상도의 영향에 의해 독특한 특성을 보이고 있다. 위성영상의 분석을 위한 적정해상도를 모색하기 위해서는 영상으로부터 분류되는 속성의 특성을 파악하여야 한다. 본 연구에서는 순천만 해안습지를 대상으로 위성영상으로부터 토지피복 정보를 추출하고, 공간 해상도의 변화에 따른 변화를 살펴보았다. 순천만 영상을 대상으로 토지피복 분류정확도를 파악한 후 30m 해상도부터 480m 해상도까지 30m 간격의 16가지 해상도로 영상을 제작하여 분류정확도의 변화를 살펴보았다. 순천만 해안습지는 다양한 토지유형이 다양한 크기로 분포하고 있어 해상도의 변화에 따라 토지피복 특성이 변화하고 있으며, 순천만의 위성영상 역시 축척 효과에 의해 해상도에 따라 속성정보의 특성의 변화가 뚜렷하게 나타난다.

Economical selection of optimum pressurized hollow fiber membrane modules in water purification system using RbLCC

  • A water treatment utility in South Korea operates a large system of pressurized hollow fiber membrane (PHFM) modules. The optimal selection of membrane module for the full scale plant was critical issue and carried out using Risk-based Life Cycle Cost (RbLCC) analysis based on the historical data of operation and maintenance. The RbLCC analysis was used in the process of decision-making for replacing aged modules. The initial purchasing cost and the value at risk during operation were considered together. The failure of modules occurs stochastically depending on the physical deterioration with usage over time. The life span of module was used as a factor for the failure of Poisson's probability model, which was used to obtain the probability of failure during the operation. The RbLCC was calculated by combining the initial cost and the value at risk without its warranty term. Additionally, the properties of membrane were considered to select the optimum product. Results showed that the module's life span in the system was ten years (120 month) with safety factor. The optimum product was selected from six candidates membrane for a full scale water treatment facility. This method could be used to make the optimum and rational decision for the operation of membrane water purification facility.

폐미역을 이용한 생물흡착 시스템별 중금속 제거 효율 평가 (Evaluation of Removal Efficiencies of Heavy Metals Using Brown Seaweed Biosorbent Under Different Biosorption Systems)

  • 폐미역을 이용한 생물흡착제의 중금속 제거능력을 조사하기 위해 lab-scale의 생물흡착시스템에서 최적조건을 구명하고, lab-scale의 생물흡착시스템의 최적조건하에서 large-scale PBCC 시스템의 중금속 제거능력을 조사하였다. Lab-scale 생물흡착시스템별 중금속 제거능력은 PBCC보다 CSTR이 뛰어났지만 CSTR은 폐수유입속도가 48 L/day이상에서 완전혼합상태를 유지하지 못하여 안정적인 운전이 가능한 PBCC가 적합하였다. Cu용액의 유입속도 및 농도별 Cu 제거능력은 유입속도 12 L/day 및 유입농도 10 mg/L일 때 Cu용액 처리량이 가장 뛰어났으나 경제적인 부분을 검토한 결과 유입속도 24 L/day 및 유입농도 100 mg/L가 적절할 것으로 판단되었다. 처리단계별 Cu 제거능력은 컬럼을 연속식으로 배열하는 것이 Cu 제거효율이 높았다. 중금속 종류별 제거능력은 Pb, Cr의 처리효율이 높았고 Cu용액 이외의 다른 중금속 용액들도 Cu와 동등한 수준 이상의 처리효율을 나타내었다. Lab-scale의 PBCC 시스템을 27배 규모로 scale-up한 large-scale PBCC 시스템의 Cu 제거능력은 138 L로 lab-scale의 5 L와 비교하였을 때 동등한 수준을 유지하였다. 따라서 중금속 처리를 위한 최적 폐미역 활용 생물흡착시스템은 PBCC 시스템인 것으로 판단되나, 실제 중금속 폐수에 본 최적시스템을 적용하기 위해서는 중금속 폐수 특성에 따른 적용성 연구가 추가로 진행되어야 할 것으로 판단된다.

  • The comparative evaluation is the most effective method for site selection because the selection of waste treatment facility is to determine the optimum site out of limited candidate sites. This study adopted the ordinal scale evaluation, one of methods of comparative evaluation. The ordinal scale evaluation aims to determine the investigating items referring to the character of sites, to determine the importance factors for investigating items, and to determine the optimum site according to the quantitative evaluation. As a result of this study, the defects of the former reports on the environmental characteristics, such as obscurity of meaning and subjective statement, were reduced by the ordinal scale evaluation which is one of the quantitative evaluation methods. This ordinal scale evaluation method has some valuable advantages, such as, to be able to consider the cost-effect efficiency, to consider the objectiveness and the clearness of the reports on the environmental characteristics. Therefore the reducement of social complications about site selection of the indisposed facilities could be expected by this study.

액적 분급 장치를 적용한 분무열분해 공정으로부터 합성된 실리카 분말의 특성 (The Characteristics of Silica Powders Prepared by Spray Pyrolysis Applying Droplet Classification Apparatus)

  • Silica powders with spherical shape and narrow size distribution were prepared by large-scale ultrasonic spray pyrolysis applying the droplet classification apparatus. On the other hand, silica powders prepared by large-scale ultrasonic spray pyrolysis without droplet classification apparatus had broad size distribution. Droplet classification apparatus used in this paper applied the principles of cyclone and dispersion plate with small holes. The droplets formed from the ultrasonic spray generator applying the droplet classification apparatus had narrow size distribution. The droplets with fine and large sizes were eliminated by droplet classification apparatus. The optimum flow rate of the carrier gas and diameter of the hole of the dispersion plate were studied to reduce the size distribution of the silica powders prepared by large-scale ultrasonic spray pyrolysis. The size distribution of the silica powders prepared by large-scale ultrasonic spray pyrolysis at the optimum preparation conditions was 0.76.

수직형 소형정미기의 벼 도정 특성 -주축회전수, 롤러의 세라믹코팅길이, 이송스크루 피치의 최적 설계조건에 대하여- (Milling Characteristics of Vertical Small Scale Milling Machine for the Rough Rice -Optimum design conditions of main spindle speed, ceramic coating length of roller and feed screw pitch-)

  • This research was carried out to examine the optimum design conditions of a vertical small-scale milling machine where the rough rice is processed directly into the white rice in one pass. Effects of the main spindle speed, feed screw pitch and ceramic coating length of the roller on various milling characteristics such as white rice processing capacity, electric energy consumption, rice temperature increase, broken rice ratio, moisture reduction, outlet force and crack ratio increase were studied. The results are as follows. 1. The maximum white rice processing capacity and the lowest crack ratio increase, were obtained from a machine with specification: main spindle speed of 970rpm having a feed screw pitch of 19㎜. 2. The minimum electric energy consumption was obtained with the main spindle speeds of 900 and 970rpm respectively having a feed screw pitch of 19㎜. 3. The rice temperature was increased as the feed screw pitch decreased and the main spindle speed increased. 4. Broken rice ratio was relatively low with the range of 0.8∼1.3%. 5. Moisture content loss was with the range of 0.05∼0.4%. 6. The highest outlet force was 0.72kg$\_$f/ with 900rpm of the main spindle speed and 19㎜ of the feed screw pitch and the lowest outlet force was 0.18∼0.34kg$\_$f/ with 970rpm of the main spindle speed and 16㎜ of the feed screw pitch. 7. The optimum design conditions for the vertical small-scale milling machine were obtained at 970rpm of the main spindle speed, 19㎜ of the feed screw pitch and 20㎜ of the ceramics coating length.

Hull form design for resistance minimization of small-scale LNG bunkering vessels using numerical simulation

  • This paper aims to provide the most useful method of determining an optimum LCB position and design direction of fore- and aft-body hull shape for a SLBV. It is known that the SLBV has a lower length-to-beam ratio, larger Cb and simpler stern shape designed for the installation of azimuth thrusters comparing to those of conventional LNG carriers. Due to these specific particulars of SLBV, the optimum LCB position was very different to that of conventional LNG carrier. And various approaches were applied to determine the optimum fore- and aft-body hull shape. The design direction for the optimum hull-form was evaluated as the minimization of the total resistance which includes the wave-making resistance and form-drag with numerical simulation.

기준병상수와 상급병상수의 적정규모에 관한 연구 (A Study on the optimum scale of the number of beds of both the standard and the high-class)

  • The purpose of this study was the acquisition of the optimum scale of the apportionment of standard & high-class bed for the maximum profit representative of the desire of customers in a General Hospital with 1,100 beds located in Seoul. This investigation was proceeded by the analysis of the result of the simulation with the survey of both the patients' needs for bed and the degree of the medical service by the grade of the ward. And finally the consequence was obtained as follows: 1. The result of the investigation of the inpatients' preference for the grade of ward classes shows that a private ward reflected 4.3 percent, a semi-private ward 1.7 percent, a three-bed ward 0.1 percent, and a ward with six beds 93.9 percent each other. 2. A questionnaire poll was paralleled of service terms of a medical doctor and a nurse by ward class, the data were used for the standard of the allotment of labor cost by the ward class. The poll shows that the service tenn of a medical doctor and a nurse based on a ward with six beds by ward class showed 1.7 times in internal medicine and 1.9 times in surgery at a private ward; 1.4 times in internal medicine and 1.7 times in surgery at a semi-private room; and 1.2 times both in internal medicine and in surgery at a three-bed ward 3. The resultant findings revealed the most profit per bed and per patient in a private ward. However, an analysis of profit with a standard of unit area by ward class represented a higher profit in both the internal medicine and the surgery semi-private ward than other ward classes. 4. The result of the analysis through simulation based on the data of the prime cost per the ward class proved the optimum scale of the distribution of beds by class as follows: sixteen beds of the internal medicine and twenty three beds of the surgery in the private ward; two hundreds and two of the internal medicine and one hundred and ninety eight of the surgery in the semi-private room; three of both the internal medicine and the surgery each other in the three-bed ward; one hundred and ninety eight of the internal medicine and two hundred and fifty two of the surgery in the ward with six beds. The result of this research exhibits that the income and expenditure of the hospital could be improved by changing parts of wards into private ones(containing the maximum profit per a unit of width) in case the scale of the number of beds is reset with the consideration of the profit per the unit width. In the near future it's strongly expected that the research for the more scientific standard of the allotment of labour cost by ward class and for definition of the optimum scale of the number of beds that actualize the maximum profit with the change of the three elements of the prime cost: cost of materials; labor costs; management expenses.

전력계통 안전을 위한 공급예비력 적정수준에 대한 연구 (A Research of Optimum Supply Reserve Levels for Stability of Power System)

  • 최근 전력수요의 높은 증가율로 인하여 전력계통에 가장 안정적으로 전력을 공급하기 위한 적정예비력을 얼마만큼을 가져야 할 것인가? 하는 필요성이 강조되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 연도별 계통규모와 예비력 및 예비율의 변화 풍향 분석을 통하여 계통규모가 증가할수록 적정 예비력은 증가하고 있는 반면에 예비율은 하락하는 추세를 보이고 있는 것을 분석하였다. 이 자료를 관계로 현재시점에서 단기 전력수급전망에 적용되는 공급예비력으로 산정한 600만[kW]는 적정수준이라 여겨진다. 또한 최대전력수요가 5,000만[kW]를 넘어서면서 적정수준인 $10{\sim}12[%]$ 예비율 보다는 적정수준의 예비력을 산정하여 적용하는 것이 전력계통을 경제적이고 안정적으로 운영할 수 있다고 분석되었다.

선박 구조물의 진동 최적설계를 위한 NASTRAN 기반 최적화 프레임웍의 제안 (Development of NASTRAN-based Optimization Framework for Vibration Optimum Design of Ship Structure.)

  • Recently, the issue of ship nitration due to the large scale, high speed and lightweight of ship is emerging. For pleasantness in the cabin, shipbuilders are asked for strict vibration criteria and the degree of nitration level at a deckhouse became an important condition for taking order from customers. This study proposes a new optimization framework that is NASTRAN external call type optimization method (OptShip) and applies to an optimum design to decrease the nitration level of a deckhouse. The merits of this method are capable of using of global searching method and selecting of various objective function and design variables. The global optimization algorithms used here are random tabu search method which has fast converging speed and searches various size domains and genetic algorithm which searches multi-point solutions and has a good search capability in a complex space. By adapting OptShip to full-scale model, the validity of the suggested method was investigated.
