This paper describes the optimal sizing of each component using computer simulation and presents the efficient operating scheme of series HEV using hardware simulator the equivalent system. As the sizing method of components have been experimental and empirical it is needed to spend much time and development cost. however the results of computer simulation will set the optimal sizing of components in short time. There are two type of driving control power-tracking mode and load-levelling mode in series HEV. This paper presents that series HEV be operated in the load-levelling mode which is more efficient that power-tracking mode.
This paper describes a method to find an optimal driving condition of vibratory gyroscope. Mechanical coupling between driving and sensing mode degrades the performance of vibratory gyroscope. When the resonant frequencies of driving and sensing parts are fixed, frequency and amplitude of driving source affect mechanical coupling. Thus, they should be optimally tuned. To investigate the influence of driving source on mechanical coupling, we measured frequency response and displacement of driving and sensing mode using laser vibromenter. The measured frequency response and displacement show that the gyroscope has minimum mechanical coupling when the frequency of driving source is set to the intermediate value of driving and sensing part resonant frequency. Measurement also shows that the mechanical coupling increases abruptly at a certain driving voltage as the voltage increases.

This paper presents a high performance position controller in a driving system using a time optimal control which is widely used to control driving systems to a desired reference position or velocity in minimum response time. The main purpose of this study is an improvement of transient response performance rather than steady-state response comparing with another various control strategies. In order to improve the performance of time optimal control, we tried to find the cause of the steady-state error in the driving system we have already made up and also suggest the newly modified type of time optimal control method in this paper.

This paper proposes a high performance position controller for a driving system using a time optimal controller which has been widely used to control driving systems to achieve desired reference position or velocity in a minimum response time. The main purpose of this research lies in an improvement of transient response performance rather than that of steady-state response in comparison with other control strategies. In order to refine the scheme of time optimal control, Lyapunov stability proofs are incorporated in a controller of standard second order system model. This scheme is applied to the control of a driving system. In view of the simulation and experiment results, the standard second order system model exhibits better minimum-time control performance and robustness than double integral system model does.

In 2011, greenhouse gas emissions of transport sector were 85.04 million $tonCO_2eq$ and road emissions accounted for 95% of total emissions in the transport sector. There are few innovative technologies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions aside from eco-driving education and public relation program. Therefore, this paper focused on analyzing optimal acceleration by certain road grades and suggested fuel-efficient driving method for various uphill sections. Scenarios were established by driving modes. Speed profiles were generated by scenarios and speed variations. Each speed profile applied to Comprehensive Modal Emission Model and then each fuel consumption was estimated. Driving mode and speed variation that minimized fuel consumption were driven according to grade percent and uphill distance. When driving in the eco-friendly mode of the driving and speed variation, reduction rate of fuel consumption was evaluated by comparison between eco-driving and cruise control mode. When a vehicle drove under eco-driving mode at 100kph, 90kph and 80kph on uphill road, fuel consumptions were reduced by 33.9%, 30.8% and 5.3%, respectively.
This paper shows the form of the optimal solution and how to minimize energy of train driving control. In this paper we consider the case where a train is to be driven by manual operation mode along a straight level track, and with speed limits. Using the constrained optimal technique(Lagrange Function & Kuhn-Tucker equations), we constructed optimal train driving strategy.
This paper describes development of 4 Wheel Drive (4WD) Electric Vehicle (EV) based driving control algorithm for severe driving situation such as icy road or disturbance. The proposed control algorithm consists three parts : a supervisory controller, an upper-level controller and optimal torque vectoring controller. The supervisory controller determines desired dynamics with cornering stiffness estimator using recursive least square. The upper-level controller determines longitudinal force and yaw moment using sliding mode control. The yaw moment, particularly, is calculated by integration of a side-slip angle and yaw rate for the performance and robustness benefits. The optimal torque vectoring controller determines the optimal torques each wheel using control allocation method. The numerical simulation studies have been conducted to evaluated the proposed driving control algorithm. It has been shown from simulation studies that vehicle maneuverability and lateral stability performance can be significantly improved by the proposed driving controller in severe driving situations.

Recently, a new type actuator using multi-pole magnet has been developed for high-density and high-speed disk drive, which can be achieved higher sensitivity than a conventional actuator for applying one-pole magnet. However, it is very difficult for the actuator of multi-pole magnet to meet simultaneously the optimal design condition for reducing rolling mode effect and improving driving sensitivity because the force center is different from the mass center In this paper, First We propose the new shape coil for tracking which can reverse moment additionally in tracking motion, Next we achieve the optimal design to reduce phase disturbance and peak gain at the rolling mode frequency. Finally, the validity of the proposed methods is proved from experimental results.
In order to not only perform as a extreme model under the severe operating condition but also acquire more diverse and advanced control capability utilizing high compliance, active vibration control of a flexible 2-link robot manipulator are investigated. Multi variable-structured frequency shaped optimal sliding mode is proposed for the flexible robot manipulator like control system, whose control variables, an angular motion of joint and vibration of flexible link, have to be controlled simultaneously by one control torque at a driving joint. The control system is divided into two subsystems, a control input related subsystem and an added subsystem. The proposed sliding mode, composed of multi control variables, makes optimized relation between subsystems and a individual control input, thus, the sliding mode controller can compensate whole dynamics of each subsystems simultaneously. And the possibility and effectiveness are verified by vibration control of a manipulator having two flexible links. Simulation and experiment results show that the proposed control scheme achieves the purpose effectively.
This study intends to investigate the optimal switching modes of a double-capacitive thermal system under different constraints on the state and the control variable, by the application of the Pontryagin's Minimum Principle. Throughout the development, the control effort is assumed to have two modes of state: M or zero and the terminal times being fixed. In the first part of this study, the Principle is discussed under various conditions for this particular problem, with different criterion functions and in the same time imposing a certain constraints; i) on the terminal states, ii) on functions of the terminal states. Depending upon the upper bound value of the control vector, possible driving modes of the states are studied from which particular optimal driving modes are extracted so as to meet the specified constraints and boundary conditions imposed in the problem. Numerical solutions are evaluated for an over0damped, double-capacitive thermal plant and the optimal solutions: the switching mode, the optimal switching time, and the control effort are compared with the analytical results, in the second part of this work, to confirm the development.
