A novel algorithm for joint user selection and optimal power allocation for Stackelberg game-based revenue maximization in a downlink non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) network is proposed in this study. The condition for the existence of optimal solution is derived by assuming perfect channel state information (CSI) at the transmitter. The Lagrange multiplier method is used to convert the revenue maximization problem into a set of quadratic equations that are reduced to a regular chain of expressions. The optimal solution is obtained via a univariate iterative procedure. A simple algorithm for joint optimal user selection and power calculation is presented and exhibits extremely low complexity. Furthermore, an outage analysis is presented to evaluate the performance degradation when perfect CSI is not available. The simulation results indicate that at 5-dB signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), revenue of the base station improves by at least 15.2% for the proposed algorithm when compared to suboptimal schemes. Other performance metrics of NOMA, such as individual user-rates, fairness index, and outage probability, approach near-optimal values at moderate to high SNRs.

The energy-efficient design of sensing-based spectrum sharing of a multi-input and multi-output (MIMO) cognitive radio (CR) system with imperfect multiple antenna spectrum sensing is investigated in this study. Optimal resource allocation strategies, including sensing time and power allocation schemes, are studied to maximize the energy efficiency (EE) of the secondary base station under the transmit power and interference power constraints. EE problem is formulated as a nonlinear stochastic fractional programming of a nonconvex optimal problem. The EE problem is transformed into its equivalent nonlinear parametric programming and solved by one-dimension search algorithm. To reduce searching complexity, the search range was founded by demonstration. Furthermore, simulation results confirms that an optimal sensing time exists to maximize EE, and shows that EE is affected by the spectrum detection factors and corresponding constraints.

In this paper, we present a co-design methodology of dynamic optimal network-bandwidth allocation (ONBA) and adaptive control for networked control systems (NCSs) to optimize overall control performance and reduce total network-bandwidth usage. The proposed dynamic co-design strategy integrates adaptive feedback control with real-time scheduling. As part of this co-design methodology, a "closed-loop" ONBA algorithm for NCSs with communication constraints is presented. Network-bandwidth is dynamically assigned to each control loop according to the quality of performance (QoP) information of each control loop. As another part of the co-design methodology, a network quality of service (QoS)-adaptive control design approach is also presented. The idea is based on calculating new control values with reference to the network QoS parameters such as time delays and packet losses measured online. Simulation results show that this co-design approach significantly improves overall control performance and utilizes less bandwidth compared to static strategies.
As one of many design variables, the role of dimension tolerances is to restrict the amount of size variation in a manufactured feature while ensuring functionality. In this study, a nonlinear integer model has been modeled to allocate the optimal tolerance to each individual feature at a minimum manufacturing cost. While a normal distribution determines statistically worst tolerances with its symmetrical property in many previous tolerance allocation studies, a asymmetrical distribution is more realistic because its mean is not always coincident with a process center. A nonlinear integer model is modeled to allocate the optimal tolerance to a feature based on a beta distribution at a minimum total cost. The total cost as a function of tolerances is defined by machining cost and quality loss. After the convexity of manufacturing cost is checked by the Hessian matrix, the model is solved by the Complex Method. Finally, a numerical example is presented demonstrating successful model implementation for a nonlinear design case.
In operation of distribution system, DGs(Distributed Generations) are installed as an alternative of extension and establishment of substations, transmission and distribution lines according to increasing power demand. Optimal capacity and allocation of DGs improve power quality and reliability. This paper proposes a method for determining the optimal number, size and allocation of DGs needed to minimize operation cost of distribution system. Capacity of DGs for economic operation of distribution system can be estimated by the load growth and line capacity during operation planning duration. DG allocations are determined to minimize total cost with failure rate and annual reliability cost of each load point using GA(Genetic Algorithm).

Cooperative communications can significantly improve the wireless transmission performance with the help of relay nodes. In cooperative communication networks, relay selection and power allocation are two key issues. In this paper, we propose a relay selection and power allocation scheme RS-PA-PSACO (Relay Selection-Power Allocation-Particle Swarm Ant Colony Optimization) based on PSACO (Particle Swarm Ant Colony Optimization) algorithm. This scheme can effectively reduce the computational complexity and select the optimal relay nodes. As one of the swarm intelligence algorithms, PSACO which combined both PSO (Particle Swarm Optimization) and ACO (Ant Colony Optimization) algorithms is effective to solve non-linear optimization problems through a fast global search at a low cost. The proposed RS-PA-PSACO algorithm can simultaneously obtain the optimal solutions of relay selection and power allocation to minimize the SER (Symbol Error Rate) with a fixed total power constraint both in AF (Amplify and Forward) and DF (Decode and Forward) modes. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme improves the system performance significantly both in reliability and power efficiency at a low complexity.

An optimal file allocation algorithm which seeks optimal solution of file allocation problem for efficient management and operation of information files in distributed computer system is proposed. Since file allocation time in practical applications that have many computer sites is tool long, the problem size has to be reduced and computation time is improved by using preassignment conditio. A new method which calculate appriasal value for accurrate value for accurrate representation of assigned state is proposed and the selection criteria to candidate nodes for rapid determination of allocation are given. By using selection criteria, file allocation is determined and final appraisal value represent total cost of assigned state.
Purpose: First, this paper suggests an alternative approach to find optimal portfolio (stocks, bonds and ESG stocks) under the maximizing utility of investors. Second, we include ESG stocks in our optimal portfolio, and compare improvement of welfares in the case with and without ESG stocks in portfolio. Methods: Our main method of analysis follows Brennan et al(2002), designed under the continuous time framework. We assume that the dynamics of stock price follow the Geometric Brownian Motion (GBM) while the short rate have the Vasicek model. For the utility function of investors, we use the Power Utility Function, which commonly used in financial studies. The optimal portfolio and welfares are derived in the partial equilibrium. The parameters are estimated by using Kalman filter and ordinary least square method. Results: During the overall analysis period, the portfolio including ESG, did not show clear welfare improvement. In 2017, it has slightly exceeded this benchmark 1, showing the possibility of improvement, but the ESG stocks we selected have not strongly shown statistically significant welfare improvement results. This paper showed that the factors affecting optimal asset allocation and welfare improvement were different each other. We also found that the proportion of optimal asset allocation was affected by factors such as asset return, volatility, and inverse correlation between stocks and bonds, similar to traditional financial theory. Conclusion: The portfolio with ESG investment did not show significant results in welfare improvement is due to that 1) the KRX ESG Leaders 150 selected in our study is an index based on ESG integrated scores, which are designed to affect stability rather than profitability. And 2) Korea has a short history of ESG investment. During the limited analysis period, the performance of stock-related assets was inferior to bond assets at the time of the interest rate drop.
Owing to the intermittent power generation of renewable energy sources (RESs), future wireless cellular networks are required to reliably aggregate power from retailers. In this paper, we propose a distributed power allocation (DPA) scheme for base stations (BSs) powered by retailers with heterogeneous RESs in order to deal with the unreliable power supply (UPS) problem. The goal of the proposed DPA scheme is to maximize our well-defined utility, which consists of power satisfaction and unit power costs including added costs as a non-subscriber, based on linear and quadratic cost models. To determine the optimal amount of DPA, we apply dual decomposition, which separates the master problem into sub-problems. Optimal power allocation from each retailer can be obtained by iteratively coordinating between the BSs and retailers. Finally, through a mathematical analysis, we show that the proposed DPA can overcome the UPS for BSs powered from heterogeneous RESs.
