Advanced LDC Test Bed Using Energy Recovery Technique for HEVs

  • This paper reports the development of test bed with the energy recovering technique using two-step boost converter. The device is utilized for LDC aging test of Hyundai Motor's LPI AVANTE HEV in mass production. The developed power recycle type test bed is designed as 1.5 kW class to test up to the maximum load power of LDC and is also designed to supply scant power supply up to 500 W after power recycle. The theoretical design analysis and operational characteristics analysis results of test bed are reported, and its practicality and reliability are verified through the test result. Also, the finally developed test bed confirms approximately 79~85 % energy saving effect compared to the usual traditional aging test system.

  • 과거 단일 회사로 구성된 전력산업 체제하에서의 신뢰도에 대한 인식과 중요성들이 전력시장과 경쟁이 도입된 다각화된 이해 주체들 이 존재하는 현행의 국내 전력산업 구조에서는 서로 다른 양상을 띄고 변화하고 있다. 전원 및 송?변전 시설계획에서부터 계통운영 계획 및 실시간 급전에 이르기까지 연속선상의 계통운영 업무에 있어 전력공급의 안정성 확보와 더불어 보다 합리적이고 효율적인 또는 경제적인 계획과 운영에 대한 요구(Needs)가 기존의 결정론적인 신뢰도 평가의 다각적 접근 즉, 확률론적인 신뢰도평가 기법을 개발하게 하였으며, 이에 미국 전력중앙연구소(EPRI)의 PRA(Probabilistic Reliability Assessment) S/W를 도입하여 실제 계통운영의 단위업무와 접목하여 리스크를 고려한 계통안전도평가 구현의 잠재적 가능성과 극복해야 할 한계를 파악하였다.

이색 사출성형기 개발을 위한 유압시스템의 특성 검토 (Characteristics Analysis of the Fluid Power System for a Double-color Injection Molding Machine Development)

  • Double-color Injection molding machine is the assembly of many kinds of mechanical, fluid power part and electric electronic control system. From in these, fluid power is a part where becomes the first core of this machine. Fluid power systems of double-color injection molding machine are modelled and analyzed using a commercial program AMESim. Partial system models which is divided according to functional operation are made and its analysis results shows how design parameters work on operational characteristics like pressure, flow rates, displacement at each node and so on. Analysis modeling and compared the data which gets from experiment and the analysis result which has a reliability got data. The results made by analysis will be used design of fluid power circuit for developing a double-color injection molding machine.

  • Many advanced nations have been developing the next generation logistic systems to effectively deal with gradually increased logistic flows over the world. Particularly, dual mode trailer(DMT) systems are significantly focused as a new alternative transportation which basically provides integrating of the land and railroad services. This paper presents new driving mechanism for DMT systems using the hydraulic pressure cylinder systems. Such is mechanically composed of supporting and rotating parts independently, which are mostly important for whole system performance. We analyze feasible operational problem occurred in driving mechanism from the conventional DMT systems and compare our proposed deign specification with the Modalohr DMT system to demonstrate its reliability and practicability.

복합화력발전소 증기터빈 동익 손상 원인분석 (Root Cause Analysis on the Steam Turbine Blade Damage of the Combined Cycle Power Plant)

  • The last stage blade of the low pressure steam turbine remarkably affects turbine plant performance and availability Turbine manufacturers are continuously developing the low pressure last stage blades using the latest technology in order to achieve higher reliability and improved efficiency. They tend to lengthen the last stage blade and apply shrouds at the blades to enhance turbine efficiency. The long blades increase the blade tip circumferential speed and water droplet erosion at shroud is anticipated. Parts of integral shrouds of the last stage 40 inch blades were cracked and liberated recently in a combined cycle power plant. In order to analyze the root cause of the last stage blades shroud cracks, we investigated operational history, heat balance diagram, damaged blades shape, fractured surface of damaged blades, microstructure examination and design data, etc. Root causes were analyzed as the improper material and design of the blade. Notches induced by erosion and blade shroud were failed eventually by high cycle fatigue. This paper describes the root cause analysis and countermeasures for the steam turbine last stage blade shroud cracks of the combined cycle power plant.

창업보육센터 운영시스템과 매니저 특성에 따른 성과에 관한 연구 (Performance of Business Incubator According to Operating System and Manager Characteristic)

  • 창업보육센터의 효율적인 운영시스템을 도출하기 위해 창업보육센터 운영시스템에 따른 운영성과 및 보육매니저의 역할에 따른 운영성과에 대해서 고찰하였다. 설문 대상은 창업보육센터에 입주한 기업체로 하고, 분석은 SPSS 19 Ver 프로그램을 활용하여 요인분석, 신뢰도분석, 상관관계분석, 회귀분석 및 매개변수에 의한 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 창업보육센터 운영시스템은 창업보육센터 성과에 영향을 미치는 중요한 요인임을 확인하였으며, 이 중 H/W시스템과 S/W시스템 모두가 유의적인 영향을 미치는 요인임을 확인하였다. 그러나 매니저 특성이 창업보육센터 지원시스템과 성과와의 관계를 매개하는 변수인지에 대해서는 가설이 기각되어 반드시 매니저의 특성 요인이 상호간에 영향력을 미치지는 않는 것으로 보인다. 운영성과는 센터에 대한 성과와 입주기업에 대한 성과로 나누어 분석한 결과 매니저 특성은 입주기업 성과에 유의적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 분석되었다.

AREVA NP's enhanced accident-tolerant fuel developments: Focus on Cr-coated M5 cladding

  • AREVA NP (Courbevoie, Paris, France) is actively developing several enhanced accident-tolerant fuels cladding concepts ranging from near-term evolutionary (Cr-coated zirconium alloy cladding) to long-term revolutionary (SiC/SiC composite cladding) solutions, relying on its worldwide teams and partnerships, with programs and irradiations planned both in Europe and the United States. The most advanced and mature solution is a dense, adherent chromium coating on zirconium alloy cladding, which was initially developed along with the CEA and EDF in the French joint nuclear R&D program. The evaluation of the out-of-pile behavior of the Cr-coated cladding showed excellent results, suggesting enhanced reliability, enhanced operational flexibility, and improved economics in normal operating conditions. For example, because chromium is harder than zirconium, the Cr coating provides the cladding with a significantly improved wear resistance. Furthermore, Cr-coated samples exhibit extremely low corrosion kinetics in autoclave and prevents accelerated corrosion in harsh environments such as in water with 70 ppm Li leading to improved operational flexibility. Finally, AREVA NP has fabricated a physical vapor deposition prototype machine to coat full-length cladding tubes. This machine will be used for the manufacturing of full-length lead test rods in commercial reactors by 2019.

Vibration Health Monitoring of Helicopter Transmission Systems at Westland Helicopter Ltd.

  • Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) have gained experience with Helicopter Vibration Health Monitoring (VHM) System technology with the help of UK GKN-WHL. GKN-WHL have had many years of experience with the research and development of vibration analysis techniques to improve the health monitoring of helicopter transmissions. This activity was targeted at transmission rig testing at first, but the techniques have been progressively developed where they are now used as a part of integrated Health and Usage Monitoring (HUM) systems on many types of in-service and new helicopters. The technique development process has been considerably aided by an ever expanding database of transmission monitoring experience from both the rig testing and aircraft operations. This experience covers a wide range of failure types from naturally occurring faults to crack propagation studies and covering a wide range of transmission configurations. Primarily based on accelerometer signals GKN-WHL's vibration analysis methods have also been applied to a variety of other sensor types. The transition from an experimental environment to operational VHM systems has been a lengthy process, there being a need to demonstrate technique reliability as well as effectiveness to both regulatory (Airworthiness Authority) and commercial organizations. Another important feature of this process has been the development of close relationships with a number of VHM system hardware and software suppliers. Such an experienced GKN-WHL provides various raw vibration data which was acquired from transmission ground test rig and allow KARI to develop it's own analysis program. KARI made a program and then analyzed the data to coma pre with the results of GKN-WHL. The KARI's results both time domain signals and statistical values show comparable to GKN's.

KSTAR 전류전송계통 진공배기계 구축 및 시운전 (Construction and Tests of the Vacuum Pumping System for KSTAR Current Feeder System)

  • KSTAR (Korea Superconducting Tokamak Advanced Research) 전류전송계 (Current Feeder System)는 4.5 K의 저온에서 운전되는 초전도자석과 300 K의 실온에서 운전되는 전원장치 (Magnet Power Supply)를 전기적으로 연결하는 장치이다. 전류전송계는 최대 35 kA의 DC 전류가 인가되는 TF 자석용 및 350초간 20$\sim$26 ㎄의펄스 전류가 인가되는 PF 자석용으로 분리되어 있으며 리드박스 내부는 전류인입선, 초전도버스라인, 열차폐체 및 냉각라인 등이 설치되어 있다. 리드박스와 초전도버스라인 진공덕트는 KSTAR 주장치와는 별도로 진공배기 시스템이 구축되어있으며, 전체적으로 아령 형상을 하고 있는 진공공간을 효율적으로 진공배기하기 위하여 버스라인 덕트와 주장치 저온용기 사이에 진공 분리막 (Vacuum Separator)이 설치되어 있다. 진공배기를 위한 초벌배기계는 로터리펌프 및 부스터펌프 (Mechanical Booster Pump)로 구축되었으며 고진공 배기계는 4대의 크라이오펌프 (Cryo-pump)로 구축되었다. 진공장치 운전을 위해 PLC 기반의 로컬 제어시스템을 구축하였고 장치 안전을 위한 자체 인터록과 중앙인터록 시스템 및 중앙제어연계시스템이 함께 구축되어 있다. 전류전송계 설치완료 후 진공배기 시운전을 통해 배기시스템의 자가진단 및 리드박스 내부에 설치되어 있는 헬륨배관의 진공누설검사를 완료하였으며, 액체질소를 사용하여 전류인입선 냉각시험을 완료하였다.
