A Study on the Introduction Plan for Integrated Operation Organization for Improving ITT Efficiency in Busan Port (부산항 ITT 효율성 제고를 위한 통합운영조직 도입방안에 관한 연구)

  • Although Busan Port is a world-class transshipment port, it is geographically divided and, despite the continuous increase in transshipment volume, ITT port integrated operation is not being performed, reducing port operation efficiency. In addition, the operation raises the problem of inefficiency in social and economic aspects, along with an increase in the volume of transshipment transport and the resulting increase in transshipment transport costs. This paper deals with the necessity of forming an integrated operation organization to carry out the ITT joint dispatch in the process of improving the ITT efficiency in Busan Port, and the organization structure centering on the transport companies and freight owners performing the Busan Port ITT. We intend to make a proposal for the establishment of an integrated operation organization in the form of a consortium and support plans. In addition, through analysis of implications, the role of the ITT stakeholders in Busan Port and related organizations will be addressed.

Experiment on the Charging and Discharging Processes of a Closed Ice-Thermal-Energy-Storage System (밀폐식 빙축열시스템의 축열 및 방열과정에 관한 실험)

  • The decrease in the summer peak electric load in our country is very important. The government has arranged and implemented a lot of support policies and statutes to decrease the peak electric load. And the ice-thermal-energy-storage system is known as one of the alternatives. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the performance and the total efficiency of its storage tank, conducting the charging operation, the parallel operation and the single operation of a storage tank. The thermal energy density stored and discharging efficiency of a storage tank and the efficiency of total energy utilization of system are $18.4\;USRT-h/m^3$, 96.2% and 2028.7 kcal/kWh under the operation of design condition. When the storage tank is supplied more ice thermal energy than design condition, it is estimated that the efficiency of system are lower than the design condition by the supercooled effect.

  • The electrical safety and efficiency is the most important thing of the electric vehicle charging system. The prior system is contact charging system that is contacted directly by human. So, it has riskiness such as electric shock in the case of poor insulation or contact problems. To solve these safety issues and the convenience problems, a wireless power transmission system has been developed and is currently in trial operation. However, because high frequency is used in wireless power transmission system instead of commercial frequency, we need to apply protection measures concerning electric shock and equipment protection. Also, it should be accompanied by measuring efficiency for the effective operation of the wireless power transmission system. Therefore, we structured monitoring system in trial operation area of wireless power transmission system and applied decision algorithm for protection of human and equipment and economic operation of it.

Target Operation Voltage Guidelines Considering Voltage Level in Each Voltage Control area by Applying Optimization Technique Through EMS Data Observation (EMS data 분석 및 최적화 기법을 적용한 제어지역별 목표운전전압 제안)

  • This paper presents target operation voltage guidelines of each voltage control area considering both voltage stability and economical efficiency in real power system. EMS(Energy Management System) data, Real-time simulator, shows not only voltage level but lots of information about real power system. Also this paper performs optimal power flow calculation of three objective functions to propose the best target operation voltage. objective function of interchange power flow maximum and active power loss minimization stand for economical efficiency index and reactive power reserve maximum objective unction represents stability index. Then through simulation result using optimazation technique, the most effective objective function is chosen. To sum up, this paper divides voltage control area into twelve considering electric distance characteristics and estimate or voltage level by the passage of time of EMS peak data. And through optimization technique target operation voltage of each voltage control area is estimated and compare heir result. Then it is proposed that the best scenario to keep up voltage stability and maximize economical efficiency in real power system.

  • The micro grid considered in this paper consists of a diesel generator, a photovoltaic array, a wind turbine, a fuel cell, and a energy storage system. This paper explains and simulates the micro grid components in terms of accuracy and efficiency of having a system model based on the costs of fuel as well as operation and maintenance. For operational efficiency, the objective function in a diesel generator consists of the fuel cost function similar to the cost functions used for the conventional fossil-fuel generating plants. The wind turbine generator is modeled by the characteristics of variable output. The optimization is aimed at minimizing the cost function of the system while constraining it to meet the customer demand and safety of micro grid. The operating cost in fuel-cell system includes the fuel costs and the efficiency for fuel to generate electric power. To develop the overall system model gives a possibility to minimize of the total cost of micro grid. The application of optimal operation can save the interruption costs as well as the operating costs, and improve reliability index in micro grid.

  • A control algorithm is developed for highly efficient operation of auxiliary power unit (APU) that consists of a diesel engine and a directly coupled induction generator in series hybrid electric Bus (SHEB). In a series hybrid configuration the APU supplies the electric power needed for maintaining the state of charge (SOC) of the battery unit in various conditions of vehicle operation. As the rotational speed of generator does not depend on the vehicle speed, an optimized operation of engine-generator unit based on the efficiency map of each component can be achieved. The output torque of diesel engine can be controlled by the amount of fuel injection, and the power converted from mechanical to electrical energy can be adjusted by generate control unit (GCU) using the decoupling vector control of torque and flux. As for the given reference of the generating power, the multiply of speed and torque, many combinations of operating speed and torque are possible. The algorithm decides the new operating point based on the engine efficiency map and generator characteristic curve. During the transition of operating points, the speed controller saturation is avoided using variable limit and filtering of generator torque reference. A test rig and SHEB consist of a 1.5L diesel engine and a 30kw induction generator are constructed by Hyundai Motor Company.

High Efficiency Operation of the IPT converter with Full and Half bridge Control for Electric Vehicles (전기자동차용 IPT 컨버터의 풀브릿지-하프브릿지 제어를 통한 고효율 운전 방법)

  • This paper proposes a control methodology for a high efficiency operation of an inductive power transfer (IPT) converter by combining full bridge (FB) and half bridge (HB) controls. To apply the proposed control to the IPT converter, the characteristics of each control method are analyzed. By examining the output voltages of the IPT converter and a theoretical loss analysis, the control shifting points between FB and HB controls are evaluated in accordance with the coupling coefficients and the load. Based on the control shifting points, the FB-HB control algorithm is implemented. By applying FB-HB control, high efficiency operation at the light load condition can be achieved.

High Efficiency Active Clamp Forward Converter with Synchronous Switch Controlled ZVS Operation

  • An active clamp ZVS PWM forward converter using a secondary synchronous switch control is proposed in this paper. The proposed converter is suitable for low-voltage and high-current applications. The structure of the proposed converter is the same as a conventional active clamp forward converter. However, since it controls the secondary synchronous switch to build up the primary current during a very short period of time, the ZVS operation is easily achieved without any additional conduction losses of magnetizing current in the transformer and clamp circuit. Furthermore, there are no additional circuits required for the ZVS operation of power switches. Therefore, the proposed converter can achieve high efficiency with low EMI noise, resulting from soft switching without any additional conduction losses, and shows high power dens~ty, a result of high efficiency, and requires no additional components. The operational principle and design example are presented. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed converter can achieve an excellent ZVS performance throughout all load conditions and demonstrates significant improvement in efficiency for the 100W (5V, 20A) prototype converter.

  • In this study, we introduce a model that satisfies energy efficiency and economical efficiency by introducing and demonstrating cogeneration generators in industrial complexes using various actual data collected at the site. The proposed model is composed of three scenarios, ie, full - time operation, scenario operated according to demand, and a fusion type. In this study, the power generation profit and surplus thermal energy are measured according to the operation of the generator, and the thermal energy is traded according to the demand of the customer to calculate the profit and loss including the heat and evaluate the economic efficiency. As a result of the study, it is relatively profitable to reduce the generation of the generator under the condition that the electricity rate is low and the gas rate is high, while the basic charge is not increased. On the contrary, if the electricity rate is high and the gas rate is low, The more you start up, the more profit you can see. These results show that even a cogeneration power plant with a low economic efficiency due to a low "spark spread" has sufficient economic value if it can sell more than a certain amount of heat energy from a nearby customer and adjust the applied power through peak management.
